Beautifully renovated 1860’s cottage located in the heart of town.

The Dog House Cottage offers the perfect getaway for a couple. Located in the heart of historical Port Fairy within walking distance to shops, beaches and an array of excellent restaurants. Consisting of one queen size bedroom, sensational bathroom with full amenities (shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer), fully self contained kitchen (all new appliances), stunning old stone fireplace - set and ready to light in the cosy living room (smart TV with netflix) and dining table for two. Outdoor patio/ small courtyard should you wish to bring your four legged friend. We can only accept one small to medium size dog and ask that you advise us on booking if you are bringing your dog. Please if you have a dog that malts badly do not book at our cottage. We are very strict about cleanliness. Extra cleaning charges of $50 will apply if the cottage is left with excess dog hair.

Beautiful cottage

This is such a beautiful little cottage I was sad to have to leave. Perfect spot loved walking around and exploring, so close to the town centre. Check in was a beeeze and felt so supported if we needed anything.

50th Wedding Anniversary Retreat

Owners who live behind the cottage made us feel very welcome on arrival. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. Pet friendly. Great proximity to the township for shopping, cafes and restaurants. Beautiful walks along the Moyne River and beaches.

This lovely cottage exceeded expectations. It was beautifully appointed. The linen was superb, the bed was super comfortable and what a delight to hear the wind in the trees outside as you drifted to sleep.

We and our dog Ruby very much enjoyed our stay in this beautifully restored 19th century cottage. It has everything you need to relax and recharge after a day of site seeing. Recommend 100 percent to fellow travellers on the Great Ocean Road,

Delightful Cottage Retreat

Warm, cosy, clean & comfortable. Great location to walk to town & waterfront & beach. Cottage was sold after we booked but everything still went smoothly. Only complaint - chaise lounge should be replaced by a small 2 seater lounge. We plan to stay here again

A delightful quaint apartment

Our host, Cate, greeted us with welcome and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. She provided great suggestions on what to do and where to dine which was perfect. Everything was distance which was easy after our drive. The accommodation was perfect for a short stay which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would recommend without hesitaton.

The perfect getaway

A real find this beautifully renovated cottage is perfect in every way. Ideal for a couple with their dog. An ideal location too and Cate and John were great hosts giving us lots of good advice on places to visit and eat.

Beautiful cottage with perfect amenities

Cate welcomed us with the lights and heater on and the fire ready to go. She was very helpful with her knowledge of the area and in particular, places to eat. Everything I can think of was supplied; even a champagne stopper (I forgot mine so was very pleasantly surprised to find one in the drawer), chilled filtered water in the fridge and treats in the cupboard. The cottage was furnished beautifully and the shower was extra large with good pressure. The location was great too. Thanks Cate and John for your hospitality. We loved ‘The Dog House’.

You will find the people are friendly and very helpful. We’ve renovated the inside of the cottage and next year we will be updating the outside as well. We love meeting people and are happy to assist you with any queries you may have.

What makes this property unique

Location, location, location. The ideal position to walk everywhere so no need for the car unless you wish to travel out of town. The cottage is extremely well presented and we take pride in ensuring it is spotless. Stunning large stone open fireplace which our guests have all loved.
