Each bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom, one full bath and one half bath, with an additional half bath is the laundry/utility room . Bed linens are triple sheeted with comforter.

The beach is below your hilltop home ... down 120 steep stairs. To some the climb is a modest endeavor ... to others a more monumental task. But the effort is worth it to be able enjoy a one of a kind private sandy beach on Puget Sound. Beach games, kayaks and SUP are all available free of charge following a safety briefing.

Love the fairy lights in the evening and the special lights on the nautical and glass art throughout the property. Love the pops of color the geraniums add to the garden’s many layers of green. Love the bird feeders and sunsets. Loved the extra low tide exposing multitudes of starfish and sand dollars!Thanks so much Craig!

Great secluded property for those who want to experience one of the Olympic peninsulas. The host goes the extra mile to make you fell welcomed and eagerly offers to facilitate many activities such as on-site kayaking, beach combing for snails, starfish, and sand dollars, seal watching, and even dogfish (shark) fishing. Very clean, comfortable, and modern accommodations.

The property sits above the ocean, in a very natural setting. If you have disabilities you wouldnt be able to get to ocean because the stairs are very steep and vertical. We loved the beach, the host Craig was nice enough to join us and teach us a few things which was very fun. The house very comfortable , has everything you need to cook with. We stayed at the house because we just had 2 nights. There is tons to do around the area and Craig can tell you more about those activities.

We had a wonderful stay in Olympia. The property was located on an Inlet with water views from the house, and beach access from the stairs. Downtown Olympia is a quick 15 to 20 minute drive to access great restaurants and city perks. We were very satisfied.

I am sorry your stay wasn't perfect... Especially given your very recent family loss. I tape the lock on the inner inside door between the garage and the living area of the house because since we have keyless entry, some guests have inadvertently locked the door when they leave... Returning to be locked out ... Stuck in the garage.

Our Stay

We had a wonderful stay, our property manager was kind, warm and hospitable. The home was easy to live in and located in a beautiful setting on the water with morning coffee enjoyed watching the local wildlife. All this while being so close any dining and shopping needed for the stay. We would definitely come back again.

Amazing

Great view, cozy home, a cook’s kitchen, natural yard for incredible bird watching. Beautiful northwest home design and local art. Host was generous and kind. Great source of information and guidance for visitors to this area. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Beautiful home- quiet setting

This gorgeous home is in a very quiet and serene setting. Comfortably appointed we enjoyed watching the tides roll in and out The owner is extremely responsive to request and questions. The location was perfect for us with easy access to all the amenities of Olympia. And a plus for us was the very friendly resident outdoor cat.

This is a great location—very quiet and peaceful. The wildlife is wonderful. We woke up to deer in the front and back almost every day. Craig also has multiple bird feeders that attract an amazing array of different birds. We would sit and watch them come in and out during the mornings. The views of the Sound are also wonderful. There is also the only sandy beach on the peninsula. It is a great place to hang out or use as a base camp to explore the greater Olympia/Seattle area. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous view

Craig was a great host during our too short stay ( just the weekend). One disappointment was that the house offers 3 bedrooms, but the master wasn’t available to us and the other bedrooms are very small with no dresser space and no en-suite bathroom. We felt for the price, a more comfortable room should be available. House is very well located to take advantage of all Olympia offers and we enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for staying. Your comments are fair, although first time I have received that feedback about small guest rooms. Spacious bedroom closets are empty for guest use, but I will put dressers in each. Each bedroom has a bathroom immediately adjacent.

Such a gem!!

Craig's home on the hill overlooking the sound is just stunning! My teen kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I loved sitting in the red Adirondack chair on the patio and enjoying the hummingbirds and quiet evenings. The beach is a real treasure of marine biology and we learned so much from Craig, walking the beach. He was kind enough to offer us a ride in his boat, such a treat. We kayaked and paddle boarded with the seals and took Craig up on all his recommendations. I definitely recommend his home for your time in Olympia.

Craig’s house

The house it self was lovely . The area was serene, a bird watchers heaven and not too far from town. There is beach access but it is a steep trek. We went down and up once as that’s was enough for us in fear of misstepping. I think adding pictures of the stairs and access would allow for guess to better manage their expectations. Everything we needed was available in the house and Craig is there onsite in case you need any help! Overall we had a nice quiet weekend as planned .

easy access getaway

So close to downtown, yet so far! Beautiful views, nice walking & hiking. Very civilized, comfy, and well-thought-out space. Semi off-grid, with a well and septic system. Craig was very attentive and helpful. Greeted me in person when I arrived. He stays in a separate building on the site, but respects your privacy. For extra charm, the property comes with an optional bonus kitty whose primary agenda is getting extra food. :D If you’re not into cats, you can just ignore him. He’s very hardy and independent.

My partner & I were in Olympia visiting family and chose this house as it appeared we could see a lot of the Sound - see below.Craig is a very knowledgeable host, friendly, and quick to respond to messages. He left some info about the area, and that's how we learned about a small, easy hike at Tumwater Falls.This is a full-time residence, but Craig stays in a cabin on the beach during stays. He gave us a tour day 1 but left day 2 so we did not interact with him as others have stated.This is a secluded spot - lots of houses in the neighborhood, but it's quiet. Lots of wildlife, great for bird watching! If you need/want to do anything in Olympia, expect a 15 minute drive. ACCESSIBILITY: There is a no-step entrance to the front door. However, we were asked to enter/exit the property using a keypad on the door to the garage, and there is a step to get inside the house from there. 1 guest bedroom and the only full bath are on the main level. The shower/tub is very tall and not easy to get in to if you have mobility issues. The back deck is accessible, but there are stairs to get down to the beautiful backyard. There is not a flat path out back, and there are a LOT of steep stairs (with railing) to get to the beach! You can see the water between the trees in the backyard, but if you're in a wheelchair or have limited mobility and your main goal is to be as close as possible to the water, there will be some disappointment. It was a pleasure to host Heather. Her comments about accessibility need a response. I do not promote my home as wheelchair accessible or for those with limited mobility. But the main living/sleeping areas are free of steps. There are two steps to the patio. I find it puzzling that she would make such observations about steps when she opted to not occupy the main floor bedroom, but to use the upstairs bedroom for three nights going up/down 17 stairs... Both bedrooms were of identical furnishings and size ??? I did not expect them to always enter/exit thru the garage... Only if they were going to leave and lock up, since I offer a keys-free entry pad with their code. She could have used the no stair main front door entrance, and have her more mobile partner leave/enter on the adjacent garage 1 step entrance . In the 6 years of hosting guests, I have never heard a comment suggesting the territorial view of the sound was anything less than superb.

Overly present home owner

1. Check in: The homeowner insisted that he meet us at the property when we arrived. After a long drive, we were tired and wanted to unpack and relax. The homeowner insisted a full walk-through tour that took almost 30 minutes. Regardless what we said or how disinterested we appeared, he would not leave. Everything he told us could’ve been left on a check in instructions sheet. The next morning we were lounging in the living room enjoying the view when the homeowner walked up through the backyard. He was there again when we took a walk on the beach and we got stuck in another long conversation. This morning, we opted to leave early to avoid a final meeting. 2. Cleanliness: I wanted to take a bath one night and I touched the tub to find a thick coating of dust. I opted to skip the bath. Also, the dishes in the tenant area had not been well cleaned. 3. Nice touches: there was nice soaps, bath salts, lotions, and robes. 4. The home: on the listing there is a picture of the back part of a house located right on the beach. Even though it was on the property listing, it was not the property we rented. While we had a nice view, the home as located on a high ledge far above the beach.

I am third generation owner...and so terribly proud of a very, very special property. When you rent my new home, I may take up residence in my heritage cabin on the beach far below. A place I lived for 4.5 years before building my new hilltop home .
