Clean room and a great host. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping are all very close, which makes it very convenient. The studio is exactly as advertised, with a kitchen and utensils included. It had everything I needed for my stay while attending my son’s soccer tournament at MGI Academy, and the location was perfect.
Our stay worked out great. It's a very convenient spot - minutes from grocery and target, and not far from the airport. The host was responsive and very friendly and did everything to make our stay seamless.
I have stayed with Lorrie twice and both times it was an excellent experience!! I was down there to watch my son play at a tournament at IMG Academy, and the proximity and the affordability being a single dad was perfect. He stayed with his mom and I had a perfect place to be to cook and crash and relax, I will be back.
Conveniently located to family as well as restaurants and groceries. Enjoyed some downtime sitting in the lawn chairs. Lorri gave us very detailed and easy to follow information. Thanks for sharing your rental with us.

Thank you so much. You were lovely guests and I would be thrilled to have you back. I wish the weather had been a little warmer for your stay.
Absolutely wonderful little studio-like place with the charm of an apartment. Host is very wonderful, plenty of amenities to use, nice quiet area. Just enough room for everything and plenty of shelf space for food items as well as a large wardrobe for clothing and the like. Great for getting away from the stresses of the world and just decompressing. Area has plenty of grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a little vacation in the area. :)
Lorrie was an excellent host! She communicated very very well! It made the process very simple. She communicated very effectively with me once I got there and what I needed to do to check out was posted on the wall. Location was close to where I needed to be I could go walk in the neighborhood and near other places, very conveniently and safely. Super happy
Pros:
1.) Quiet neighborhood and property.
2.) Centrally located.
3.) Comfortable bed
Cons:
1.) Soap dispensers empty except shampoo and conditioner.
2.) Very dated.
3.) Stove, very rusted, unsteady, dial for oven temp was backwards and couldn't cook so temp was a guess.
4.) Shower had black mold.
5.) Kitchen utensils were hit or miss, no hot pads, faucet on kitchen sink was in the sink...washing dishes faucet was in the way.
6.) Walking from driveway to side entrance had to dodge dog waste....at night it was hit or miss.
7.) Expensive for what you get in comparison to other properties we've rented.

The status of the apartment is documented via video and photographs prior to EVERY new check in without exception.
1.) “Soap dispensers empty except shampoo and conditioner.” All five soap dispensers had soap when you checked in. As of your check out, four out of five soap dispensers had soap in them. There was also soap located in the medicine cabinet and under the sink. Either you or your spouse moved the adjustable showerhead down so that it was touching the push button on the dispenser, which causes the soap to drain out completely. At no time did I receive a request for more soap during your stay.
2.) “Very dated.” Bayshore Gardens is a historic neighborhood, all properties were built in the late 50s - early 60s. The structure is midcentury. The furniture is from this century. All photographs are accurate and recent. If apartment was not to your liking, you could have simply chosen to stay elsewhere.
3.) “Stove, very rusted, unsteady, dial for oven temp was backwards and couldn't cook so temp was a guess.”
The one rust spot located beneath the stove door does not interfere with use during cooking or baking. I recently re-secured the temperature dial and confirmed with photos of the same brand that it is accurately positioned. Perhaps you are not familiar with using apartment size stoves, but six + years of previous guests were able to use it without issue. All range ovens have adjustable feet. Had you had informed me that the stove was wobbling, I could have easily adjusted the feet on the unit to stabilize it, which likely shifted during a recent pest control application.
4.) “Shower had black mold.” I *personally* scrub, bleach and sanitize the stall prior to every stay. I can prove empirically there was/is no black mold. There is some missing grout and old discolored caulking I have been removing piecemeal via Dremel. There is zero black mold. During season, there isn’t time between guests to give new grout/caulking ample time to be both cured and sealed. Additionally: You left a pair of your underwear draped over a pipe under bathroom sink – which is strange, and a biohazard. The shower walls and door were splattered and stained with a dark blue chemical (not shampoo) as high as 6.5 feet that took 45 minutes of targeting scrubbing with bleach to remove.
5.) “Kitchen utensils were hit or miss, no hot pads, faucet on kitchen sink was in the sink...washing dishes faucet was in the way.”
Utensils: There are over 100 items provided for cooking and eating, including a silicone oven mitt. As it is not possible to forecast every need, a broad array of common items are provided despite space limitations. You could have easily let me know if you needed an item that was not provided.
Sink/faucet: The kitchen is depicted accurately in the listing with photos. The homebuilder fit an entire kitchen into a 74 inch wide space, which you knowingly rented. The kitchen photos were not obscured from view.
6.) “Walking from driveway to side entrance had to dodge dog waste....at night it was hit or miss.” Before mowing yesterday, I took the liberty of filming the walkway from the driveway to the apartment door, a 3.5 ft. wide path. This statement is unfounded and hyperbole.
7.) “Expensive for what you get in comparison to other properties we've rented.” This is a LIE. You were in Florida during SEASON. Every hotel in a 5-mile radius right now is $10-150 more per night. On VRBO and Air Bnb - $50-250 per night more for “entire property” rentals.
There wasn’t a way to improve your stay unless you informed me. Thanks so much for your "thoughtful" review.
I was looking for something economical for our stay in Bradenton and this definitely for the bill. Lorrie was quick to respond to correspondence. The neighborhood is nice. The pictures and description are accurate. The apartment is very small. The kitchen is kind of bare-bones but had what we needed. The accordion door to the bathroom was a nuisance but I can see why they went with that—a swinging door would take up space. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well. I wouldn’t send someone to stay here who is nitpicky about things because I wouldn’t say it’s in white glove condition. But it worked for us this time.
The hostess was very informative and made our stay very comfortable. The apt. is very comfortable and roomy enough for 2 adults. This place is also very very clean. It also includes a great big fenced in yard in very nice location and also very safe. We couldn't be happier with our stay.
Worked out perfectly. Lots of privacy, perfect for the dog to wander in the fenced yard. Shower works great! TV has Spectrum and Ruku! Small kitchen and fridge was all I needed. AC worked well too! Would recommend especially with a small dog. I may be going back again at the end of May!
conveniently close to the Sarasota Airport and several beaches, and stores
animal friendly (super cute pups)
nice firm bed
very nice owner
lots of privacy
We were in need of a place for our son to stay for a few days after moving to the area, and we found this cute apartment for him. Lorrie was willing to let him rent the apartment with very short notice. He was able to stay in a nice area, close to his new job, and we really appreciate it how kind Lorrie was. My son said it was the perfect place.
Adorable! Outstanding little get-away, in a mid-century neighborhood. Total privacy! Fantastic!
I used this little cottage, as a home base (during the off-season) to shop for my new home in Venice. I had complete privacy, a wifi connection (so I could continue to work, uninterrupted,) a mini kitchen to cook in, a front yard so my little doggie could run around, and to make it even better, the owner allowed me to bring back items of furniture I found at the Thrift Store! So even though my things had not arrived when I moved in my house...I still had some dishes and a cool bamboo Love Seat etc...that I could use until my furniture arrived. This was the perfect place to take my time and look for exactly the right house for me. I highly recommend this adorable little get-away!

Why they chose this property
The studio is located in Bayshore Gardens, on the border of Bradenton and Sarasota. It is close to just about everything that you want to see, do, or need in this area.
The aim was to make this little space as warm and inviting as possible, including the small scale kitchen.
