We had such a fabulous time staying in this beautiful place! So relaxing and so pretty with lots to do around the area. Thank you for a perfect getaway!
The view from the back porch and pool was so beautiful! We really enjoyed the hiking trail. We could tell the host took a lot of time and thought into making it enjoyable. We had the most relaxing time at this place!
We had a great visit! Lots of amenities. Loved the pool and hot tub, campfire and the hiking trails. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

So, the house is very secluded and therefore very quiet. The host is very friendly and helpful, but the house itself is a nightmare.Nothing is as described; even the hot tub didn’t heat up to the advertised 101 F—at first, it didn’t heat up at all because it was set to 75 F. We were able to figure that out, but it took a lot of effort to find the problem. The rest of the house is a disaster—if you enjoy living with pests, you’re more than welcome—and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve attached photos that speak for themselves. Stepping on pests at night is truly disgusting. Under no circumstances would I rent this house again—all in all, it was pretty creepy, and it’ll take more than just a fresh coat of paint to fix that. There were also things lying around all over the pool area that could have been cleaned up. So it was very, very neglected.
We throughly enjoyed our stay. The view, short trail, pool and the fact that the property had everything we could possibly need or think of needing already in the house was wonderful. We throughly enjoyed our stay, one of the more relaxing and enjoyable short trips we have had in a while!
We really enjoyed our stay as the pool, views, patios and decks were lovely!! We had lots of space inside to spread out too. There were lots of amenities and the place is kept very clean and it provided what we needed; however, it seems like regular maintenance needs to be done as there were several things that needed maintenance (or maybe we were just super unlucky in having several minor things happen the weekend we stayed), but he did respond promptly to the issues we had and even gave a small refund to offset our troubles. It's an older home on a good sized property in a less populated area (but close to things nearby) so you have privacy which we liked. The kitchen and home were fully stocked for anything you might need as well. It looks like a well loved family home!
Came for our friend’s 40th birthday staycation. Our stay was so nice! Plenty of outdoor space to sit and enjoy nature. The pool was great, and the stars were amazing. Such a cool property and we had lots of fun.
So enjoyed our stay at the Flying J Ranch! Loved the hot tub, the back deck, the hiking trails, the stars, the early morning sunrise and the amazing views!
The house and property were amazing! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and I wouldn’t hesitate booking another escape to this house!
Communication with the owner was the best I’ve ever experienced!
A great place for a weekend get away. This space was truly gorgeous both inside the home and looking out over a beautiful valley in the shade by the pool. Can't rate the stay highly enough.
Check in was great and the kitchen had what we needed to prepare our meals as well as the rest of the house. This was our second time to stay at your wonderful house . We loved it the first time and loved it the second time. Thank you James and Jamie for opening up your house to us.
This property was amazing! Our 3 teens had plenty of space to spread out and loved all the trails on the property. The view was the best part. We also really enjoyed visiting the local breweries and all the small boutiques downtown.
If you forget something it will be ok. They have it from coffee, espresso machine , pools towels, pool toys. The house Is fully stocked. It’s quite place and great views.
We rented Jim's house for a getaway with friends and family. He was incredibly responsive and helpful. The house is well equipped (kitchen, grill, linens). And it's in a gorgeous location. Close to Austin but nestled in the splendor and quiet of the Hill Country. An absolutely gorgeous place to relax. We will definitely be back!
Really cool property with great views and a fun pool!
I stayed here with friends from out of town for a long weekend, we really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, checkin was easy, this is a great property for a larger group. We really enjoyed hanging out in the pool!
The only small negative is there wasn’t a lot of paper towels and trash bags, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Hi Sean, thank you for the nice feedback, I am glad you enjoyed your stay! If you happen to ever come back (or for anyone reading this) always feel free to reach out with questions about where things are. There are several rolls of paper towels on the top shelf of the slide-out pantries and many garbage bags under the kitchen sink.
