Olive Tree House in the Peloponnese is situated just outside the picturesque historic village of Megali Mandinia overlooking the sea in the foothills of the Taygetos mountain range. The bustling city of Kalamata with its harbour and marina is approximately 20 minutes drive.

This luxury six double bedroom 400m2 villa has a large private infinity pool, hot tub and outdoor BBQ area. It is walkable (less than 5 min) to a panoramic taverna and (in 10 min) to the village which has three tavernas all open all year round. It is less than a 5 min drive to the nearest sandy beach where there are four bars, one with a plunge pool. Kitries harbour with fresh seafood restaurants is a 10 minute drive.

The luxury villa is set in 13000m2 of its own olive groves with stunning views of the Taygetos mountain range, Ridomo gorge and sea. To the front are unrestricted sea views over the bay to the Messinian headland beyond. The sunsets are truly memorable!

A 25% deposit is taken on booking. The balance plus the Greek Government Climate Change fee of €15 per night due 60 days before departure.

Travel to the Peloponnese: From April to November direct flights are available from UK and Europe on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday to Kalamata airport which is about a 25 minute drive to Olive Tree House.

Easyjet, BA, Jet2 and Ryanair fly from the UK to Kalamata

Daily flights to Athens are available all year round. Kalamata is about a 2.5 hour scenic road transfer from Athens using the motorway system. Taxi or coach transfers can also be arranged.

It is also possible to reach Kalamata via a connecting flight from Thessaloniki airport on Wednesdays and Saturdays or Crete on Friday or Sunday

There is a ferry service to Kalamata from Crete on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

we were a family of 8 staying for 5 nights. had plenty of room for all of us. the property was even better in real life. spectacular views. the pool area was very clean and we used it and the hot tub a lot. no dryer. lovely taverna in the mountain village just 3 minutes drive up hill.

Friends trip to Greece

This property is very beautiful. The views are breathtaking and the pool and hot tub were fantastic after a day exploring. It was very comfortable for our group of 8 with 6 bedrooms with their ensuite bathrooms. (Beds are a bit hard but that seems common for Europe). The kitchen was large and well stocked. We had a wonderful vacation and would highly recommend this property.- in a quiet and peaceful area but there a couple of good tavernas within walking distance

Private location with amazing views

This was a very private location within a 10-minute drive to the beach and restaurants. It's a little difficult to find (up a windy mountain road) but gave us the privacy and views we wanted. The house provides amenities and entertainment for all ages.

Stunning views, infinity pool that genuinely goes on to infinity on a mountain top location. No neighbours closeby to bother or over look & there is a good taverna 5 mins walk. Property is very well equipped & efficient air-con for a bit of relief from midday sun. This is a very spacious property and 8 people never felt in each others way (apart from G&T rush time). The pool is highlight and perfectly maintained. Note; a car is absolutely essential. The location pin in vrbo points to middle of Kalamata. Property is 30 mins down the coast.

Great house

Fantastic location in silent and completely private area. The house has very good outdoor areas - and within minutes drive to quite good restaurants. We also used the local taverna just 5 minutes walk away

Excellent mansion for a large family to stay right outside Kalamata

We spent just under 3 weeks in the Peloponnese and this mansion was our home base. It was so excellent we didn't want to leave. Great pool and hot tub, spacious, lots of fruit trees that were in season, a taverna within walking distance and beaches that were perfect for sunning and playing in the Aegean. The house is so impressive and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, an outside grill, gated with an large lawn, and views to die for. We also loved the ping pong table, foosball table and outdoor speakers for the stereo. I can't say enough good things about this property. Kudos to the owners. They do it right!!! Oh, and the property manager bends over backward to help insure an excellent stay.

Pure luxury!

Olive Tree is beautiful and peaceful with a range of facilities to keep everyone entertained. The house was spotless surrounded by stunning mountains and sea views. We found it hard to drag ourselves away from the luxuries of the house but when we did Kalamata had plenty to offer. It's great for drinks, restaurants, activities and Sightseeing. We especially enjoyed a day at the waterfalls. I'd recommend the water sports at cosi club which is a short drive from the house. I don't normally write reviews but I was so impressed I couldn't not. The owners were a dream and just one of the factors for us going back!!

Idyllic

Our 2-week stay at Olive Tree House was fantastic in every way, a real first class experience, and Joanna was a superb local host. We were 2 families (8 adults and 2 teens) sharing, and found lots of space and flexibility in the accommodation, which is kitted out to a very high standard with all mod cons. We loved the location with the fabulous views, 4 very authentic-Greek Tavernas within walking distance (Taverna Anavriti was our fave...you'll need Google Maps to find it in the back streets of Megali!!), and the beaches within a short drive...Kitries is particularly picturesque. We spent many days lazing by the pool, followed by BBQs while enjoying the absolutely stunning sunsets. We loved Kalamata market for fresh meat, fish, fruit and veg, and it was great to experience a very real Greek holiday location... Highly recommended!!

Wonderful Vacation House

We were 2 families that rented this house for about 1 1/2 weeks and had an amazing time there. The house is large. It has a great layout and incredible views - from the pool, from the balconies, from everywhere. There was space for everyone (12 people including kids/teenagers) both inside and outside. Every bedroom was done well and comfortable to be in. The pool is close to the house and it was easy to run back and forth. The photos do not do justice to the house. The area is lovely and we didn't feel it was very touristy, which is what we had wanted. Having someone available to answer questions throughout our stay both about the house, the area, restaurants, store, etc. was very helpful. We've rented summer houses for a number of years now and everyone agreed that this was the nicest property we've been in. Definitely a place to return to!

Perfection.

Having arrived in the middle of the night, the next morning we walked on the balcony and was staggered by beautiful views. Rolling hillsides with Olive trees, mountains in the background and a wonderful view of the Messiniakos Gulf. The view of the infinity pool and jacuzzi was eye catching too! The accommodation was perfect, we had 8 adults and 5 children in our party, all our requirements for a happy stay were met. The bedrooms were comfortable, the lounge areas were large, and the kitchen was more than adequate. We particularly like the dining area outside, and the barbecue area. The position of the villa is ideal for coastal towns and beaches. In particular Kardamili and Stoupa. The boat trip out of Kalamata to Kitries is a must. The pedalos at Kalamata were fun for the children ( ages 6 to 12 ). We also found excellent restaurants at Kardamili and Stoupa, but our best one was 300metres away on the hill above us.Excellent food and views, and wonderful service! Dirou caves are worth a visit too. On a more practical note, we found Lidl's very convenient for our main shopping, on the coast road towards Kalamata. We discovered an untapped Greece to the south of the Peloponnese, which we loved.Above all our contact Joanna was excellent, she couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our wonderful holiday

Magnifique maison! Parfait pour les groupes

La maison était magnifique! Très propre et spacieuse. Nous étions 3 familles et c’était parfait. La piscine, le bbq ont été très appréciés! La vue est magnifique. On a eu un souci avec l’air climatisé mais joanna a été en mesure de régler le tout rapidement! La taverne qui a à 5 minutes à pied est vraiment super. Je vous la conseille. Bref, un séjour de rêve entre amis. À refaire!!

We were a party of family and friends ranging in age from 15 to 67. The villa was spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. The pool area was the main hub of fun for us. It was very well laid out and we all had a great time playing pool games and chilling. Joanna was a great source of information and we were able to communicate very easily. It was a lovely 10 days

Une très belle semaine de vacances

A 3 heures d'Athènes, nous avons decouvert cette très belle région du Peloponese. Peu de touristes, beaucoup de locaux, dépaysement garanti. Nous étions 6 adultes et 6 enfants de 3 à 8 ans et avons été à notre aise dans cette très belle villa. Magnifique vue sur la baie avec de superbes coucher de soleil. Bien équipée (piscine, spa, climatisation, baby-foot, ping-pong) et bein entretenue, même si certaines pièces sont un peu vieillissantes (équipements de cuisine, salle de bains). Communication fluide avec le propriétaire et le gérant local. Plage à quelques minutes en voiture. Kalamata et son marché et ses supermarchés à environ 30 min.

Simply wonderful

Thank you for this wonderful experience. We had a quick an uncomplicated check in, with Ioanna giving us wonderful tips around the area. The appartment is stunning, with lots of space and everything one needs for a relaxing holiday. As we had a bad weather period, we can also say that staying inside gave lots of opportunity to relax an entertain oneself with activities Anytime again !

Beautiful home with lots of games for kids

We had four generations together under on roof and had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the home, pool, and surrounding areas. The pool is treacherous slippery. A hand rail or traction on the stairs is desperately needed. We had old people really hurt themselves on the stairs.

Superbe maison avec vue à couper le souffle

Une vue sublime à 180 degrés sur la mer, y compris depuis la piscine et le jacuzzi. Maison très spacieuse, très moderne (réfrigérateur américain, TV, climatisation dans toutes les pièces). Chacun peut se reposer tranquillement dans sa chambre avec vue et/ou balcon, sans être gêné par le bruit des espaces communs. Séjour inoubliable.

A Little Idyll

This was the perfect way to escape the craziness of 2020! This villa is lovely. We travelled as two families with kids ranging from 8-17. There is plenty of space (and bathrooms) for everyone, several terraces for relaxing, eating and cocktails. Fabulous views, sunsets and pool. The area itself is relatively quiet, but in easy reach of some great restaurants. The beaches are mainly pebbles, but the water is beautiful. The nearest one is at the bottom of the hill, we were able to walk to / from it (but it’s a steep climb at the end of the day!). Our older teenagers liked the Hobo beach bar and jumping off the cliffs on the headland (there is also a little cave you can swim through!). Joanne, the host, was very helpful.

Family and friends summer holiday

Stayed for 2 weeks in August, adults , teens and kids. Very easy booking and excellent communication with Ann , the owner and Joanna, the local contact. Really helpful with all our enquiries. Couldn't have asked for better., House has everything you could need , there was really nothing that was missing. All the rooms are air conditioned and have their own private balcony space. The pool and gardens were lovely, we spent a lot of time relaxing outside. The kids loved the Apple TV and there are lots of DVDs to enjoy. The views from there house are stunning, I can’t stress this enough . Really really amazing and very calming! Ok , on to the practicalities. You MUST MUST have a car. The property is up in the hills. It’s a car drive to anywhere apart from the local restaurants. , the local village to get bread is a 5 minute drive. The nearest supermarket of decent size is at least 30 minutes away in Kalamata. When you are feeding a large group, you need lots of trips ! The local ( pebbly) beach is again about 5 mins drive, you can walk down but not back in the summer heat. There is loads of parking at the local beach. The pool at the house is shallow at one and and at least 3 m at the deep end. I am not sure how happy I would b having toddlers there as there are quite a few walls on the property with drops on the other side. Lastly we flew into Athens and it is a good 3 hour drive to the house, if you need to consider this. All in all a great holiday but be prepared to drive if you want to do any visiting.
