This classic log home is surrounded by pines on a wonderful wooded lot. The cozy comforts of this home will invite you to take it back to the simpler life of long ago!

Warm wood accents and comfortable furnishings invite you to kick back and relax when you enter the great room. The woodstove gives off a cozy glow that adds the perfect ambiance for a quiet evening at home watching TV or playing board games.

The eat-in kitchen is fully-equipped and ready for you to prepare favorite family-style meals. You can spend quality time around the dining table sharing stories about the day's adventures.

Each of the two main level bedrooms is furnished with a double bed. Upstairs, there are four twin beds. Decorated with a good night's sleep in mind, you are sure to wake up refreshed and ready to experience recreation at Deep Creek Lake.

Outside, you can breathe in the mountain air and enjoy the sounds of nature from the covered front porch. Located within less than 1 mile from Deep Creek State Park, you have lots of activities at your fingertips. The park has a sandy beach for swimming, miles of hiking trails, kayak and canoe rentals, fishing from the shoreline and more. Plus, the Discovery Center has great exhibits about the local environment along with programs for kids.

The central location is just a few miles off the beaten path, so you are close to many other popular activities as well. Within a five to ten-minute drive, you will find restaurants, shops, a movie theater, marinas, mini golf and ziplines.

Wisp Resort is a "must-do" for any Deep Creek vacation no matter what the season. Skiing, golf, snow tubing, a mountain coaster, escape games and mountain biking are just a few of their offerings. The thrill-seekers in your group can head to the top of the mountain for white water rafting on the man-made river at the Adventure Sports Center International.

Great Location

My wife and I overall enjoyed our four day stay. The house was clean, well lite (not a given with many rental properties), and close to the lake and hiking trails (about a five minute walk). Several minor items: there is no washer and dryer, the main bathroom tub needs a rubber mat, and the TV/cable needs specific operating instructions, as we could not figure out the setup (we ended up streaming to our PC).

Unbeatable location, spare amenities

We liked this place, you should just be prepared for what you're getting. Like a lot of properties at Deep Creek, there's not really a serious central air system, so the cabin was a little warm and muggy when we arrived. Running the fans and opening the windows helped. This place also does not have a dishwasher or a dryer, which for a family of five with young kids was a bigger challenge. Next time we'll know to be prepared with extra towels and paper goods.That said, the location is fantastic, a short walk to the lake beach and discovery center, as well as the "Merc", a 24 hour help yourself mini mart.

When we arrived the house has a very pungent smell, like urine. I believe this was due to the septic. We opened the windows and air it out and it was ok but after that it was strong sent of air fresheners. As someone easily prone to headaches, this was an issue. This was definitely a log cabin and I didn't expect a hotel room type situation but the house was a bit cobwebby and susty. We could never get get the TV to work.

Great setting close to the park

We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids (4 and 2). This home was perfect for us. The large deck was great for the kids to play on and there was plenty of room upstairs for them to sleep and play. We cooked out each night on the grill and even used the grill for s'mores. Having Internet helped us plan our day's adventure on the trails since we were not familiar with the area. The property had pretty much everything we needed as far as dishes, cooking utensils, and other odd and ends. I would definitely recommend this home if looking to get away for a while. We plan to come back again!

Cabin just ok

The cabin had many problems. There was a damp or musty smell from the time we opened the door. The bathroom was less than clean with dust and grunge around the sink faucets. All facilities in there were dark brown in color so it was hard to tell if they were clean. The sink countertop was dusty and stained. Most of the living room was dusty. All tv, vcr, DVD player, etc. we're just on a large table in a corner. The directions for the tv did not match the remotes provided so we never got the satellite tv programming. No blinds were on any of the windows. All the furniture and curtains were dated. However the check in and check out was very easy. There is nothing in the kitchen in the way of spices, including salt and pepper, foils, plastic wrap , etc were provided so bring your own. The tableware (plates, bowls, etc) were plastic or melamine and extremely dated. I've stayed in nearly 20 cabins in Ohio, Maryland and West Virginia and this one would rank in the lower end of all of them. Overall, it was a disappointing stay for the price. Lower quality but good location, good parking.

The dust on the fans/ceilings/windows left a feeling of neglect

The surfaces of the home were clean. Counters/bathtub ect. However layers and layers of dust and cobwebs were on the window latches, on all of the fans, on the ceiling in the kitchen, on the outlet over the stove, in all of the corners, on the baseboard heaters. Overall the feeling was years of things not being done. We are fine being in an outdated home, we are fine with a few bugs/spiders. I feel that this home needs a good cleaning in all of the nooks to bring this home back to glory. Again, the general state of the home was clean, I felt the sink/counters/table ect were clean...the rest not so much.

Weekend WISP ski trip

Cabin was perfect. Quick weekend getaway to get some skiing in at Wisp. Beautiful setting. Very cozy when the temps dropped outside.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a nice stay at "The Pines" the cabin was in a nice quiet area which we were happy about but not to far from town. The property description was accurate, however, I was advised to use the taylor made app and due to length of time from when I booked it and vacation was here the app was much misleading. According to the app there was a hot tube and washer and dryer. The only thing I would tell other guests are the beds do not seem to be queens and are very uncomfortable. When arriving to the cabin it seemed clean and well-maintained however there were spider webs everywhere. We over all had a great stay other than the few things.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pines is a nice property at a reasonable price. However, when we arrived at 10pm on Friday night, there was no key in the lock box. We had to wait outside for almost an hour for a key. The night emergency folks did their job, but someone should have verified that the key was in place prior to our arrival. In addition, the refrigerator did not work. On our first day we noticed that. Our food was not cold enough, but we weren't sure the fridge didn't work, as the cold food we put into the fridge Friday night made it seem like the fridge was working a bit. By Sunday morning some of our food was spoiled, but we were leaving anyway. Taylor Made was aware of both of these issues and I'm surprised that no one has called to apologize or otherwise compensate me.
