This location is great! Close to downtown and the farm is cute! The staff milking cows were so sweet and informative! Would definitely stay here again!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Farmyard Inn!! The perfect, quiet and quaint place for our family’s annual “reset & unplug” trip. Everything was just as described in the listing. Truly a 10/10. We cannot wait to stay at the Farmyard Inn again!
My family and I have wanted to visit Shipshewana for years. The house was absolutely prefect! We got to enjoy all Shipshewana has to offer for the holidays. The lights, shops, carriage ride, and a show at the theater. Will definitely recommend to friends and family

Charming home
Enjoyed our stay in this quaint home with a great host! Shipshewanee is a wonderful town that I always love to visit! If you stay here you must try the flavored milk that the dairy makes. The maple coffee is my favorite! I would always check here first before booking other places when I’m in the area

So Peaceful
This is the second time we have stayed here and will be back. It is so peaceful without the distraction of TV and internet. The gardens are beautiful.
We were at LaGrange for our granddaughters 6th birthday. The stay was perfect to
Reconnect as a family and enjoy what the area has to offer. Just what we needed.
It was a fantastic weekend of sewing, laughing and eating great food. The place was amazing. The dining room table was so nice and big for two people to sew. WE WILL BE BACK again!!!

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. we were able to see the animals and watch the cows getting milked. The farm is in a location where you can get to places quickly, such as the bike trail, restaurants and attractions. The house is 3 bedroom and 1 bath and has everything you need. I highly recommend staying here
The farmhouse was perfect for our few days in Indiana, centrally located to other activities we were involved in during our visit. The owners of the property were so gracious to us, they have a beautiful farm and the milk they produce is delicious, even flavored! Landscaping is gorgeous!

This is a house on a working dairy farm. It is a two story house with one small bathroom.one bedroom down stairs with the bathroom and the other two bedrooms upstairs. For the age of the house it is great condition. The host are wonderful. I would highly recommend this house.
This house does not have AC so keep in mind when picking a date. Everything about the house was great and the property was beautiful!! Home owners were so sweet and kind. Loved walking around and seeing all the beautiful flowers, animals and cows being milked. Would definitely return to this location.

Fantastic place to stay
My family had a great time staying here. The hosts were terrific! I grew up in this area but hadn’t been back for 30 years. It was awesome to be back in Shipshewana to see my family members after so many years. The farmhouse was clean and spacious, just as advertised. There’s a paid option to take a tour of the working dairy farm and you can also purchase fresh milk!
We rented bikes 7 miles away in Middlebury at Pumpkinvine cyclery and rode them to the farmhouse and back. What an awesome experience. I highly recommend renting this farmhouse. You won’t be disappointed!
It was amazing! So peaceful. It was a working dairy farm, which I loved. You could hear the horse and buggies going down the road. Which was probably my favorite part. The homeowners are amish amd live in the ajecent house. She was so nice and friendly. The had quite a few books (I brought my own) and games in the house. My husband and I ended up playing monopoly. There is no TV in the house (which was fantastic) It had everything we could have needed.
My youngest daughter and her 4 year old and I meet my oldest daughter, her husband and youngest daughter at the house. They came on Friday. Went to eat in town and walked around. They went to a circus that evening and I stayed at the house and enjoying the serenity. Saturday we went to a mall and met up with my oldest grandchild and rode go carts and just had lots of fun. Highly recommend it. Enjoyed watching the animals at the farm. Which it hadn't rained so much as would have loved to interact more with the farm animals.
First off the property was exceptionally clean and well appointed. It was very entertaining being on a dairy farm.
However, the lack of air conditioning was not made clear in the description. In 2023 some amenities such as hot water are assumed. I see now that "heat" is clearly listed as available but air conditioning was conveniently omitted. Day two of our trip in July the house reached over 85 degrees. The house runs on generated electric so I assume that is why the oven elements were removed due to the amps required to run it. Definitely had some entertaining moments getting used to that. Be sure to bring plenty of bottled water as the water smelled of sulfur. It seems to be common in this area so just be prepared.

stressed
Probably not stay again. The house was not fit for 5 elderly sisters. Bathroom too small. We are all readers and there were no bedside lamps for reading. very short on outlets (one sister had a c-pap). Cleaning is not done thoroughly. Found a plate that fell from wall stuck behind piano. Towel wrapped around toilet for sweating (this is winter). Refrigerator door is coming unhinged. No one wanted to shower in the tub as it looked dirty/steined. Floor in kitchen is in need of repair. Not worth the amount we paid.
