We came to Placerville to meet up with family. I booked the accommodations and quickly regretted my choice upon arrival. Home did not match the description. It’s not new, this place needs some TLC and a serious deep clean. Upstairs kitchens had everything thrown into cabinets and drawers, clean and dirty dishes put away in cabinets. The coffee maker still had used coffee grounds! Upon seeing this we questioned if the sheets on the beds had even been cleaned. We had 8 bath towels for 18 people, no kitchen towels or paper towels. No extra garbage bags. One of the downstairs bedrooms had a patch job approximately 4’x4’ that hadn’t been painted. The room looked tacky and this wasn’t depicted in the pictures. How do you decide who gets that room? The handrail going downstairs was extremely loose and so was the upstairs deck side railing. So many other things that I could list here. The homeowner did come over with a drill and fixed the handrail and gave us some extra towels. He offered to have his housekeeper come back and clean the following day but he had already washed half the bed sheets and put them on the beds. I reached out and asked for our cleaning fee to be refunded as the house wasn’t clean when we arrived but almost 2 weeks later I have not received a response. Very disappointed.

We are disappointed to read this review, as we feel it does not fairly represent our home or the efforts we made to address your concerns.
As the owners, we take great pride in our property and genuinely want our guests to have an enjoyable stay. When you initially contacted us, we responded immediately, personally came to the home, addressed the handrail concern, provided additional towels, and offered to have our housekeeper return to address any cleaning concerns. Both railings have since been inspected and secured. You sent us back with the additional garbage bags provided-they weren’t to your expectations, I presume.
Several additional concerns mentioned in this review were not brought to our attention during your stay, leaving us without the opportunity to address them.
While we recognize that every guest has different expectations, we believe our home is accurately represented in our listing. We welcome constructive feedback and are always willing to address concerns promptly.
We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we also feel it is important for future guests to know that we are attentive, accessible owners who genuinely care about their comfort and experience.
This house was great for our family Thanksgiving getaway. Plenty of room for group and quiet time. It was secluded but close to town. Krista was helpful and responsive. Will definitely stay here again.
We stayed here our annual board game retreat. There was pleanty of room for the 12 of us to play board games. It was quiet. We may make this our annual location!
The house was large and accommodated several families. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. I was a little disappointed that there were no aminities. Such as soap in he bathrooms, coffee, extra trash bags, were at the bottom of the
We had about 19 family members from a baby, toddlers and adults. We were celebrating a memorial for the passing of my mom. It was perfect. Large living area and dining room table including a large sit up counter. Deck was so nice. We BBQ’ed and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Would definitely come back again. Host was very nice with our request.
The space was perfect for the family vacation with multiple families. We were able to cook together and hang out in the living spaces with enough room. Close enough to the downtown to walk if you wanted to. The location was close enough to go river rafting in the American River and hike at Tahoe. The people in the town were super friendly, and we loved The Burning Barrel to treat ourselves to some yummy cocktail and food!
The house was clean and well stocked. There was lots of room. Far enough from town to be peaceful. But just a short walk if we needed Starbucks, restaurants, groceries, etc. Outdoor space was good too. We enjoyed our stay.
