Royston Lodge - Dog-Friendly Halls Gap Getaway

Royston Lodge offers self-catered, dog-friendly accommodation in Halls Gap, The Grampians (Gariwerd), western Victoria, Australia.

The house lies on 3200m2 of land in a quiet side-street, near the cycle track and 1.6km south of the main shopping area of Halls Gap. Walk to shops and restaurants, or rent a bike and get around town easily.

The house has 3 bedrooms that sleep 7 people and sofa-beds in the lounge that can accomodate up to an additional 3 people (linens are not provided but currently cannot be arranged due to COVID-Safe practices). It has a newly renovated, fully equipped kitchen with a Breville double-boiler espresso machine and coffee bean grinder, dishwasher, gas cooking, electric oven, microwave and a full size refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is stocked with basics including salt, pepper, oils and spices.

Free wi-fi is included in the house for guests to use.

The lounge has a 42”/106cm flat-screen SmartTV, DVD/blu-ray player, bluetooth sound-bar and iPod dock. Sofa seating is provided, comfortable for 7 people. including a double sofa-bed and a single sofa-bed. The lounge also has a wood-stove and firewood is provided.

The main bathroom was recently renovated and includes a spacious double-shower, under-floor heating and a heated towel rail.

The house has an air-conditioner and ceiling fans in the lounge and one bedroom.

A large east-facing deck is a perfect place to enjoy meals while watching the birds and wildlife. A new gas BBQ is provided, and outdoor seating for a large group.

Brilliant house

Great house, so many hidden extras. Loved the fire place, endless supply of wood, coffee machine, heated bathroom tiles, great access to pots and pans and most importantly morning visitors of the birds and wild life. Affordable accommodation, very happy with stay

Beautiful, relaxing getaway.

Wonderful place to stay. We had an amazing week here with our 11 year old son and dog. So peaceful yet close to everything. The house has all you need and our hosts were very lovely. We hope to be back soon.

Absolutely lovely home, amazing location.

We had a brilliant time, everything we needed for a winter getaway. Perfect location to access walks and an easy walk into town. Home well equipped to self cater and keep warm and cosy. A big thanks from our four-legged family members who loved their holiday (and the dog run).

Great Stay

We enjoyed the property very much. The location is excellent, close to the shops. The house is well stocked with everything one might need. An additional fan is needed in the one bedroom for those hot nights.

Such a wonderful home on a stunning block of land. Views of the Grampians and wildlife on your doorstep - sometimes literally. A brilliant host who looked after us. No hesitation to recommend this property

A awesome location and a very well appointed house. It was great to be right at the edge of the forest, and see wildlife from the comfort of our own balcony. Roos and Cockatoos galore. Paula was so helpful and great at communicating.

Bushfires cancelled our stay

We were booked for the week of Xmas 2024, unfortunately bushfires in the national park, and an evacuation notice for Halls Gap, meant unfortunately we had to make last minute alternative plans. Paula was fantastic with communication during this time, and kept us well informed. We will be receiving our refund soon., and plan to rebook in the future.

Perfect relaxing location

Beautiful location, close enough to Halls Gap that you're just up the road, but far enough away that you feel like you're out on your own. This place was a lovely home for our family's week in The Grampians. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, which I love in a holiday home. The coffee machine was a great addition. The fireplace and well stocked wood pile made the cold nights nice and cosy. Bedrooms were basic and the beds a bit squeaky, but they were comfortable and we were nice and warm. Thank you for having us.

Well equipped kitchen and bathroom updated well. Bedrooms lacked for extra heating and lounge chairs not comfortable for an elderly mother. Very convenient location close to walks and town centre.

Love the cottage and our two nights stay, very close to everything. Warm cozy vibe. Accommodated our pet dog very well, she really enjoyed roaming around the woods and running after Kangaroos . We had 10 of us at the place but all were well accommodated with spacy living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. We used the converted two couches as one of the bunker bed was a bit wobbly but those two sofas were comfortable for a good sleep when converted as single and double beds. We will definitely go back again, thanks Paula for the stay.

We had a very relaxing weekend. The property is very comfortable and very well equipped. It has a lovely terrace where you can watch the wildlife while having your favourite beverage, that's what I call relaxing and unwinding. The location of the property is fantastic, in the middle of the forest and close to the beautiful walks which we have in Grampians, another relaxing aspect. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back. Thank you for allowing us to stay in Royston Lodge. 6th us to stay

Great pet-friendly home in beautiful spot!

Lovely, clean and spacious home. Love that it was child-friendly and pet friendly! Children enjoyed feeding the birds in the mornings with the bird seed provided. Such a beautiful and quiet spot, and we found the dog run handy during the days. Plenty of space and beds for our 2 families (4 adults, 6 children). Thank you, Paula!

Beautiful house!

Gorgeous modern kitchen and bathroom. Lovely decking. Convenient resources in the kitchen, ie. Oils, herbs, salt and pepper, coffee machine. Nothing worse than needing to shop for the basics for cooking. Kitchen is heavily equipped with everything you need.

Great home in a beautiful setting

Great home for a group of friends or family. The setting is remarkable. We had daily visits from kangaroos and emus along with all of the local birdlife. The kitchen is the best in any short stay rental I’ve ever been in. Highly recommend.
