About the host

Hosted by Christine

Host profile image
I’m Christine, and together with my husband Andy, our journey has been shaped by a love of travel, beautiful spaces and a slower, more intentional way of living.

Originally from Sydney, we packed up our young family in 2013 and moved to Bali for what we thought would be a one-year sea change. That one year quietly turned into three, and in that time we fell in love with a more relaxed rhythm — one that centred around connection, simplicity and appreciating the everyday.

When it came time to return to Australia, We knew we wanted to hold onto that feeling. We were drawn to the idea of raising our children by the coast — somewhere that reflected the carefree, outdoor lifestyle we grew up with. In September 2016, we found that balance in the beautiful seaside community of Kingscliff, and it’s felt like home ever since.

As frequent travellers (and parents), We’ve come to really value the little things — the details you don’t always think about until you need them. Arriving somewhere and instantly feeling at ease, having everything you need at your fingertips, and those quiet moments to pause with a drink in hand before heading out to explore.

Our intention is simple — that you leave feeling more relaxed than when you arrived. And if you happen to leave a little worse for wear, we’ll take that as a sign you fully embraced the experience :P

We can’t wait to welcome you !!

Why they chose this property

Kingscliff has that rare, easy balance — relaxed coastal living with just enough happening to keep things interesting. It feels considered, calm and quietly beautiful… the kind of place where your shoulders drop the moment you arrive.

What makes it special is the space. Wide beaches that never feel crowded, long stretches of coastal paths for morning walks or bike rides, and open parklands. It’s effortlessly scenic without trying too hard.

There’s a rhythm here that’s hard to find — slow mornings, beach swims, coffee that turns into lunch, and evenings that revolve around good food and even better company. You can fill your days with surfing, paddle boarding, fishing or exploring the nearby hinterland, or do very little at all and feel completely content.

Families love it for the freedom and safety — bike paths, playgrounds, and that “barefoot all day” lifestyle. Couples and groups are drawn to the laid-back sophistication — beautiful dining spots, coastal walks, and a sense of escape without isolation.

And perhaps the best part? Kingscliff still feels like a local’s secret. It offers all the beauty of a coastal getaway, without the crowds or chaos of busier destinations.

It’s the kind of place you come to unwind… and end up not wanting to leave. 🌿

What makes this property unique

More than just a place to stay, this is a thoughtfully designed coastal retreat — created for those who appreciate beautiful spaces, considered details and a slower way of living.

Every element has been intentionally curated, from the warm, layered palette to the natural textures and clean, architectural lines. The aesthetic is understated yet elevated — a balance of modern coastal ease with a refined, almost resort-like calm. It’s minimal, but never stark. Relaxed, but never unconsidered.

The layout has been designed for effortless living. Open, light-filled spaces flow seamlessly, inviting connection — whether you’re cooking, entertaining or simply unwinding. At the same time, there are quiet pockets to retreat to, making it just as suited to families as it is to couples or friends travelling together.

What truly sets the space apart is the feeling it creates. It’s not just functional — it’s atmospheric. There’s a softness to the light, a sense of openness, and a connection to the outdoors that makes everything feel easy and grounded.

Inspired by years of travel and a love of well-designed homes, the property has been styled with the guest experience at its core. The “little things” have been carefully considered — the pieces you didn’t realise you’d appreciate until they’re there — creating a stay that feels seamless, comfortable and quietly luxurious.

It’s a place to gather, to slow down, and to feel completely at ease — from the moment you walk through the door.
