We had a great visit with our kids to spend some time in the snow. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. The location was great for a weekend retreat. The property was as advertised, we had no issues.
Every thing you need, nothing you don't. Perfect location, location, location!! Clean, quiet, Joanna is a top notch property manager. Will book again for sure.

The cabin had everything you could need, was the cleanest rental we’ve had, and was very well organized. It’s a 7 min drive to big trees. It does have a staircase to enter, but the cabin is all one floor which is awesome with little kids. Would definitely stay again.
Everything was as listed and we enjoyed every part of our stay. I gave check-in three stars only because they initially gave us the wrong code, but that was fixed almost immediately with a quick phone call. We couldn't get the ac to work, and there wasn't much hot water, but those were the only bad things and luckily the weather was fantastic.

Very nice base for exploring and hiking
My friend and I stayed at the Woodland Cabin for a long weekend of hiking and exploring Murphy's and Arnold. We really enjoyed the peaceful setting and the cabin provided all we could have asked for. Comfortable seating, fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds, every thing clean and well organized. We started every morning out on the deck in the lovely seating area. It was so relaxing to start our day relaxing and listening to the birds, watching squirrels, and people walk their dogs. We did not use the grill because we chose to go out to restaurants for dinner. All in all a great cabin in a beautiful setting.
Cabin is located in Dorrington about 10 minutes from the State Park entrance. Area is super quiet, Cabin was very clean, we used the kitchen for breakfast only as we were out for most of the day hiking and sightseeing. WiFi worked great, if that’s important. The stairs to access the cabin are steep, so if you have knee issues or not in at least average physical shape climbing the stairs might be an issue. Wish we would’ve known but if you take the road that keeps going past the turn off to the cabin, you’ll reach the Stanislaus River in about 10 minutes, very beautiful scenic short drive that we found the last day we were there.
Great simple cabin with basic amenities. Great location for us close to friends. The host was very easy to work with and when we had to extend our check out time due to snow they were great and easy about making it work.
My only constructive feedback is that there is very little furniture. There are no end tables to set a drink down on in the living room, and not enough light or lamps to warm the space. It would be so nice to have a dresser in the bedrooms as well to put folded things away as there is only hanging space.
Otherwise the kitchen was decently stocked and there were a few games and a first aid kit which was helpful when we needed a bandaid;). We will likely be back.
I highly recommend this property. It’s all the little extras that did it for us when staying here.
Washer dryer available if needed. full kitchen ready to go with spices and such if needed. Cold water in the fridge for us with little snacks. I could go on but trust me. You won’t be disappointed.
Everything was as described in the listing. It’s a great getaway in the woods. Mornings on the deck are lovely. Close to Big Trees and Arnold. Highly recommend.
Lovely stay! The property was clean, well stocked kitchen and very comfortable. From the parking space there is a steep path to the 18 stair climb to the front door, just be prepared and pack accordingly. The WiFi was great for some offsite work. Really enjoyed our stay and Joanna was a great host.
Stayed at this place with my wife, toddler son and baby daughter. It’s secluded location makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. It’s only minutes away from Calaveras Big Tree State Park and the town of Arnold.
The driveway and parking for your car is narrow and there are stairs leading to the main entrance. There is also not really a yard for my kids to play as outside terrain is hilly.
The house and host were great. We enjoyed ourselves.
We needed to getaway from the distractions of city life and this house was the perfect spot. From the moment we pulled into the driveway to the moment we pulled out, the connection we felt with the area, woods, fresh air and house. They made it so "homey" with all of the the little amenities you should find for cabin living and outdoor adventures. We will definitely be visiting again in the future!
The cabin was very clean and had all the comforts of home, while still being in the middle of nature. The neighborhood is very quiet and the area is very close to all the major day trip spots. My girlfriend and I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely recommend it to others and consider it again for future trips.
Had a great stay here. Cabin is cozy, well appointed and clean. The gas fireplace is cool as there's no messing around with wood. Also appreciated the TV with Xfinity cable and streaming apps. The location is ideal for Big Trees park, with enough hiking trails to keep you busy for days. There's also Arnold rim trail which starts in Arnold a few miles further down 4.
