The house is a great location! It’s an easy walk to Watkins Glen State Park and close to restaurants and shops. Even though the house is on a main street it was actually very quiet.
Great experience for our 6 guests. Plenty of space with separate bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a comfortable living room and large dining area. Very clean and plenty of basic necessities stocked. Fantastic location within walking distance to restaurants and shops downtown.
The property is in a great central location in Watkins Glens. The host provided all the little details you would need for a comfortable stay. which was greatly appreciated. The renovations to the property were also great and seeks to modernize the structure. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms for a large group.
The house was very nice, but not perfect. We took the parlor room above the only downstairs room and the stairs are different sizes/heights. The portable ac units were noisy. I heard one bedroom tv didn’t work. The grill seemed new-ish, but there was nowhere to hang out in the yard nor was there any grilling tools. Overall, the house is cozy, clean, and very convenient to the town and especially the state park. We had a fabulous time. My critiques are only suggestions on ways to better serve the future renters. A small face lift would go a long way. Thanks for having us.

Hi Bentley, we wanted to thank you for your review. We have two new patio sets and a new set of grilling utensils. We were unaware any were missing and we couldn’t find a tv that wasn’t working. Thank you for staying! Best, Shawna
The house is in a great location and in walking distance to Watkins Glen state park and many restaurants and Seneca Lake marina including Captain Bill’s boat rides. The kitchen and bathrooms are renovated but the house otherwise is dated with old fixtures. It was very spacious for my family of 5, including 3 teens.
The residence housed 6 adults for the vintage Grand Prix celebration. The in town location was key to being able to walk to the various village activities.
The property is very similar to the listing.
Checking in and out was very easy. It is a short walk to the bars and restaurants in town and very close to the National Park.
Weather was not great but we had a great weekend anyway.
We had a pleasant stay and appreciated having the home available for our wedding party. That said, there are a few areas that could use attention. The listing describes the property as handicap accessible, but there was no ramp, which may be important for future guests to know. One bedroom also had no hanging closet space, and we noticed a few small items around the home that were broken or in need of repair. The porch and outdoor furniture were covered in dirt and dust, so they were not as usable as we had hoped. The front door could also use some attention. It did not have a deadbolt, only slide latches, and it generally felt like it needed some TLC.Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but addressing these items would make the property more comfortable and accurate for future guests. For additional suggestions, feel free to reach out to my new bride, Karen.

This group did not follow house rules, brought additional dogs without notification or paying the additional pet fee, the dogs urinated ALL OVER the house, the dog hair in the beds and on the furniture was extreme. The food mess left on the floors and in bedrooms attracted the seasonal ants in droves. They also departed late without notice, cleaners were waiting to get into the home as we had guests arriving that afternoon. Due to the state of the house we had to have additional cleaners come in to clean. Under Accessibility it clearly states to let us know prior to your arrival if you will need the ADA ramp installed.
My family started a girls get together when our guys go to bear camp. This place helped us to enjoy our favorite wineries and each other. Property was ckean and perfect! Easy access on and out, a great location!
We had an excellent weekend, went to the cardboard boat regatta, checked out some of the wineries and breweries up the lake. The house suited our group perfectly. We would definitely book this house for future trips to Watkins Glen.
A special Thank you to Shawna for taking care of the one issue we had and for the mimosas and wine.
Updated insides, comfortable bedrooms, 3.5 baths. Great kitchen and dining area. Stairs to suite near kitchen were extra steep but were not a deterent for my party. Appreciated the laundry!
Everything went well. There was enough beds to accommodate our group of 6. Very comfortable. One flaw is the bath curtain for the walk in shower. May add a plastic liner or a shower curtain with magnets. The curtain shifted and water got on the floor. Overall very nice renovation.
The house suited our need very well. Having 2nd floor bedrooms that were separated with their own staircase allowed for a napping child and working parents.
The location was excellent-being able to walk to restaurants and ice cream shops was a big plus.
The house is very clean, and close to all the main attractions in Watkins Glen. You can walk to the falls from this home. The only problem we encountered was
ants in the kitchen. There are plenty of bedrooms, and all are quite large. Really enjoyed the trip. Plenty of room for all of us.

Thank you for staying Brenda, we're so sorry about the pesky seasonal ants, we just had the exterminator out and they are coming back this week for a follow up.
We had a nice stay at the house. Although the house is old, everything inside was updated and nice. The location of the property is not the best, busy street, but worked for us. Unfortunately, there were ants in the kitchen. And spraying Raid did not fix the problem. Properly manager was very responsive and helpful, so overall we had a nice time.

Thank you so much for the nice review!
The seasonal bugs here are a pain for sure! The exterminator did visit prior to your arrival and sprayed the foundation, unfortunately it takes a bit for the extermination process to work and we're terribly sorry you had to deal with the ants!
The previous guests reported ants in the kitchen and exterminator visited before we arrived. However, the ants were present throughout our 5 day stay. Also, the upstairs bathtub drain leaked filling the bathroom floor with water that flowed down through the dining room ceiling. When we reported the problem to the property manager, she thanked us for reporting and said she would let the owner know (no offer of help to cleanup the mess or compensate us for the inconvenience).
Location was great, within walking distance of Walkins Glen park. Some of the neighboring houses were sketchy but there’s nothing that can be done about that. Was disappointed to learn that the air conditioning wasn’t working right before we checked in. While we were thankful for the portable air units, they (along with the box fans) were rather loud- two of the days we were there it was very hot and uncomfortable in any room without the air conditioners (kitchen and bathrooms). There were also ants in the kitchen- they got into our delicious local donuts and we had to throw them out. If I owned or managed this place, I would add nicer outdoor seating and an out door eating table in the back. A little TLC on the outside would go along way. While the house was on a busy street, we found the location extremely convenient; within walking distance to the state park and all the downtown shops and restaurants. Would stay here again if the air was fixed and ants were taken care of.
Accurate listing, easy check-in, and simple & quick communication with host. Route 14 is the main street through Watkins Glen for all vehicles including tractor trailers. If you are a light sleeper this might not be a good location for you. It is a perfect location for walking into town. Tons of pots/pans, wine glasses, and cooking utensils. There were 8 of us (all adults) so more plates and bowls would have been helpful. Something was wonky with the freezer and the floor under the fridge was always slightly wet - we think it was from the water line leaking when anyone tried to get a glass of water from the water/ice maker. Fairly large rip in one of the living room recliners. But neither of these small issues caused any problems for us. We did like the separate spaces and multiple bathrooms. The house worked fine for all of us.
