The hosts were so welcoming. It was a wonderful experience and they went out of our way to make sure my party had a great stay. Would love to stay here again!
The property is just lovely, well located and well maintained. A beautiful 1800s building nicely updated, the house is essentially divided into three sections, or apartments, which is a nice feature for a multi-generational family trip. There is plenty of room in the main house for gathering. Overall a home run choice for a large family trip.
We rented the main house, both attached apartments and the Blue and Green cottages. Everything was perfect! All the units were clean and comfortable and the location couldn’t have been better. Communication was great and easy with the owner! We hope to stay again! An absolutely great property!

Thank you for the kind words! Hope you visit again!
Seven older gentlemen using all three (A, B, C) units of this wonderful property for a week of golf - it has a unique large unit with a historic vibe. The B unit is cute and clean, and the C unit is also very functional. We split the group up, and each person loved their setting - and the proximity to so much Charleston fun. I would highly recommend this property. I've rented a lot of VRBOs, and this might be my favorite.
The house graciously held our entire family of 16, we celebrated my mother's 80th birthday as well as Thanksgiving, the accommodations were excellent, with this many people it was nice to be able to spread out. Beautiful front porch and hardwoods. Very authentic accomodations.
Property was perfect. Nicely appointed with everything we needed and a great location. Management was very responsive prior to arrival and during our stay (though we really didn't need anything to be done). Highly recommend.
Great spot for big groups with plenty of private spaces
We had a great trip. All of the kitchens and bathrooms have been renovated recently with nice appliances and finishes. They managed to keep the great charm of an old structure, but update everything for modern use. We walked to King street daily and its an easy ride-share to anything fun you might want to do, even off the peninsula.
We had a lovely time here. Loved the different sleeping options and all of the spacious common areas. Super quiet and easy walking to everywhere. The porch was our favorite spot.
Excellent property!
Plenty of room for all 18 of us! Since it had three kitchens and living rooms everyone had their own space to chill.
Fantastic location to all the restaurants and shops. The owners do a fantastic job. Loved the history of this place as well.
Highly recommend!
Perfect house for our family gathering! Booked all three units each unique in their size and layouts and everyone was very satisfied with their rooms. Our favorite place to gather was the front porch of the main house and those sweet rockers were the first to be occupied.
Great location, lots of restaurants to walk to.
There was a slight mix up upon arrival but once I called Claire with
Property Management the situation was quickly resolved. They made it right, made me happy, and definitely highly recommend this property.
The accommodations were perfect for our family. There were 8 siblings and their spouses and although we're family, we don't always get along. The separation of the units were a perfect way for us to spend time together, yet still be able to retreat when needed.

Great place and location
Only one minor complaint about the chairs in the back unit. They are very cute but not at all user friendly for children. The house is beautiful and the beds were all exceptionally comfortable.

Old Charleston warmth with a nice, modern touch
For large family Thanksgiving, we rented all 3 units of the main house. Worked perfectly for our families and made for easy together times for all with personal space as well.

Versatile and LOVELY
We absolutely loved our stay at 65 Cannon! It was the best of old and new; and located in the perfect location. We were intown with 4 siblings (and all the spouse and cousins!) under one roof for a wedding and this was the perfect way to all be together, and yet compartmentalized enough to enjoy alone-time/ naps/ getting ready/ and even a nursing baby all in one location. We would stay here every time we visit Charleston!

Fantastic’
My husband and I arrived after Christmas with four other couples to celebrate my 70th birthday. We had all three properties that are connected to each other. All three are amazing, beautifully decorated with seven seven modern bathrooms and a cute half bath downstairs in the main house. It was very cold when we arrived and had a problem with the heat in the downstairs of the main house..all fine in the bedrooms upstairs. We called Meg, the house manager and she responded immediately and took care of it very quickly!!!
We had a wonderful time and all three “units” were perfect..great linens by the way! Our group of 10 was so comfortable, and we could have had more people! Would definitely rent again!

Beautiful Historic Home
The James Sparrow House is a beautiful sanctuary right in the hub of downtown Charleston. We had a ladies weekend for 12 at the house and every detail couldn't have been more perfect. The instructions for check in were seamless and Meg from the management company was extremely helpful and responsive.
The kitchens were stocked with beautiful appliances, and more than enough dishes and glassware, bed linens were gorgeous and showers all stocked with luxurious hair and skin products.
I would HIGHLY recommend this house for your next visit to Charleston. This home is great for group large and small. If I ever plan another trip down there I will most definitely be staying at the James Sparrow House again.
