Lovely weekend escape!

We had a wonderful girls weekend in Mt Lyford, staying in this lovely log lodge. Everything was as advertised and a lovely location. Communication with Claudine was exceptional and we would definitely consider staying with Mt Lyford Holiday Homes again.

Great for Families

We had two families with young kids with us and found it a great place to stay! They loved the green grass and trampoline and we loved the space, the spa and the amenities available. Would love to stay again! The host was amazing too. Great place, thank you :)

Spa under the stars

Lovely cosy house with heaps of space. Had a wonderful stay and the rain didn’t bother us with the roaring log burner and spa outside. Stars were magnificent when the sky was clear. A couple of nice walks in the bush nearby too. WiFi was excellent.

Break from the city

Large house suitable for many people. Great log fire. It was cool at night so fire was a great assett. Good local walks. Beautiful surrounding farmland. Day trips to Kaikoura and Hanmer Springs.

Unfortunate that you did not let me know when this was happening. I can't do anything about it now as I'm not sure which dog(s) this would be. Please always notify us if something is not the way it should be. If we hear it once you're gone we can't solve the problem anymore.

Weekend away

The house was absolutely gorgeous and the scenery was spectacular. Great communication with the property manager but would suggest some signs or reminders explaining the hot water situation as a guest was burnt while having a shower. The property manager was sympathetic and acknowledged the situation which we were thankful for. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay.

Our booking got cancelled the day before our trip as the booking supposedly didn’t go through. We had a couple options to travel on the next day or sleep in two different cabins. Host were generous enough to give us an extra day which was very kind. First cabin was great and we loved everything about the place, second cabin was horrible with the fireplace being clogged up therefore smoking out the whole place. Decided to end our trip a day early as it was too cold and we had to use 3 heaters just to stay warm. Unlikely to go back to Mt Lyford which is a shame as we had visited the place two years in a row.

Misleading advertising having to pay extra for the spa, considering the price of the stay. The 'king' bed is in fact a super kind so it sheets did not fit. A lot of make shift work done on the house, felt very unfinished. Broken chair (upstairs) and u safe coffee table. Upper element inside oven sagging. Cupboard under the kitchen sink filthy and had mouse droppings. No kindling wood available, and no axe. The yard/weeds were well in need of some attention, as were the dead flies on widowsills and the window pane cleaning outside. Furniture on upstairs deck all broken. All these negatives could be easily fixed to make it a wonderful stay. It was otherwise an ok stay, served its purpose and was warm and comfortable. Good comms with host and easy to access.
