This three-level, dog-friendly retreat is part of the Coosawattee River Resort in North Georgia, which is just three miles southwest of downtown Ellijay. The home sits in a mountain valley that is well-traveled by white-tailed deer, allowing guests to enjoy frequent sightings of the local wildlife.

Admire wonderful alpine details as you enter the living space, which features hardwood floors, exposed tongue-and-groove on the walls and ceiling, and a beautiful stone hearth. Turn on the gas fireplace, take a seat in the leather recliner, and use the WiFi to plan tomorrow's adventures.

As your kids retreat to the den to watch a few shows on the flatscreen cable TV, get a head start on dinner in the kitchen, where you'll find stainless steel appliances, a five-burner gas range, and a center island with two bar stools. Light the gas grill to barbecue chicken and sit down to eat at the six-person table.

In the spring, summer, and colorful autumn months, you'll have two covered decks with cushioned lounge furniture, Adirondack chairs, and views of the surrounding valley. And no matter the season, you'll enjoy a five-person hot tub on the lower deck and an outdoor firepit in the backyard.

Spend your evenings sipping wine on the front porch, watching the sunset over the ridge line, and taking your dog for long walks (please note that an additional nightly fee applies). Your kids will also delight in the basement game room, which offers Ping-Pong, an ESPN Quick Shot, sofas, and another TV.

With two bedrooms and three bathrooms, Bucky and Doe-Doe's Place can sleep as many as eight guests. On the main level, you'll find an inviting bedroom with a queen-size bed, while the upstairs room offers two double beds and a private bathroom. The living room, den, and game room also have a queen-size sofabed and a futon.

Additional amenities at this cabin include private laundry facilities, shared pool, a collection of puzzles and board games, and a bin of corn to leave for the deer in the yard.

Whether you're planning a family vacation full of outdoor adventures or a relaxing retreat with your loved ones, you won't find a more serene escape than the mountains of North Georgia. Take a short drive into downtown Ellijay, the quaint town that has hosted the Georgia Apple Festival each October since 1971.

You'll also be only 18 miles from Carters Lake, where you can hike along the 62-mile shoreline, rent a pontoon boat at the marina, or drop your fishing line for spotted bass and walleye.

The resort has updated how guests gain access to the amenities on site. The guest will be responsible for purchasing amenity passes at the POA office. Monday-Saturday 9 am- 5 pm. Amenity passes are $59 per card. Each card allows 4 guests to use the amenities during the reservation dates. The POA only takes checks or money orders for payments.

The outdoor pools are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day only.

Fireplaces are operable from October 1st – April 15th only.

Guests must register 48 hours before arrival or they will not be granted access to the resort.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
