We had a wonderful stay. The house had everything we needed. The road leading up to the house was a little scary but we got use to it. We even got to see bears.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Got lots of pictures of the black bears roaming the area. Was awesome to sit out back on the deck after doing our fun things during the day.
Roads were dangerous to the cabin. When we got to roads that could only be traveled by 1 car with blind tops, we realized it was unsafe to continue travel to the cabin. The description of the cabin lacks accuracy in the travel conditions to reach the destination.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize that the travel conditions to the cabin were not as expected. We understand how important accurate property descriptions are when planning a trip. However, upon review, we show communication was made with our 24/7 guest Services Team and our Management Team, regarding the condition of the road, and our local Operations Team was notified, and they advised the road is in good condition and accessible by a 4x4 vehicle. This information is also listed in the My Rental section of the guest portal, which is sent to all guests 14 days prior to arrival. Your input is invaluable as this helps us enhance transparency and provide a better guest experience. We appreciate your feedback, and we hope you will provide us with the opportunity to welcome you back under more favorable circumstances.- Your Jackson Mountain Team
We enjoyed our stay. The layout was great and it was very private. One of the bedrooms was musty. Definitely close to nature - saw several black bears.
Was a great place saw wild life for the very first time going up and down the mountain was a little scary but would have never experienced the wild life if we did t stay here was very relaxing just what we needed
Yeah. Just needs to be updated. Not really a view. Too many trees.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
The layout of the cabin was perfect with a spectacular view. We did see bears on two different occasions. It does need a little updating (living area furniture is old and hard to get up from) and there were no potholders or kitchen towels in the kitchen. The mountain road going to the cabin is really scary in several different places. Given all this I really feel the cabin was somewhat overpriced. I don’t see myself staying there again. We vacated the cabin two days early because of the stress of driving to it.
It scary at night because of the forest that’s right in front, but besides that it’s really good to stay at. Had an amazing time, and it was equipped with all the stuff we needed. It was very high up, but we did get to se snow because of that.

Thank you for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
All the comforts of home with the luxury of a hotel. Beautiful view. Very top of the smokies. It's truly an adventure. Owners are quick to respond. Everything from check out to check in was easy and seamless. Drive up and down the mountain was the trickiest part. Highly recommend.
Lined it! Bears were present every day (Oct). The hot tub deck was nice and the kitchen accessories were plentiful (unlike some places). Drive up Is a bit hairy but I've to plenty of places like that. Beds were nice

The place was very clean and peaceful, the hot tub was great after hikes. BUT, the drive up the mountain to the place was steep and long so we would plan only one trip down a day and never in the dark.
Everything was great. My only complaints are nit-picking. If you are not from the mountains, know that the roads to get to the cabin are terrifying. The cabin itself is a bit dated and the dishwasher is obnoxiously loud but nothing that lowers a rating. The fireplace should come with directions. Otherwise an amazing view, comfortable beds, and a truly remarkable vacation.

Wonderful cabin—hard to find.
Clean, nice, well taken care of, well stocked with necessities.
Got there at night in the rain and couldn’t find it. Had to go back down the mountain and get a hotel room for two nights.
Other than that it was terrific.
Basically very enjoyable other than the snow storm that came through and we couldn’t get up mountain even with a four-wheel drive truck.

Thank you so much for this 5-star review. We really appreciate you being a customer and helping to share the word about us. We’re here for you anytime.
The rental was everything described in the listing. We love the our place, very roomy, comfortable, hot tub was great and the view was awesome. The kitchen had most of the essentials but needs scissors. The drive up to the cabin was challenging with many curves and steep hills but drive slow and be very cautious. Other than the drive the cabin was very warm and inviting.
The house was adorable. The drive up the mountain was VERY steep. Not for people who are scared of heights! But what a view. Everything was extremely clean and fresh. My only complaint is that the fireplace did not work correctly.
Two of the eyes on the stove didn’t work and needs a bigger hot water heater because you can only fill one tub up before it’s no more hot water to use

ok cabin
The cabin needs to have a grill that can be moved. It rained a couple of days and the grill there can not be moved and is not big enough to cook more than a couple of burgers. A broom! The leaves at this time of the year are falling and kept being tracked in. No broom to sweep the front porch or deck off.

Jennifer, thank you for taking the time to write a review for your stay at Above and Beyond. We are sorry if the location of the grill inconvenienced you. The grills are mounted in the ground in the specific locations due to HOA rules and fire and safety regulations. We have since gotten with our maintenance team and a broom has been placed in the unit.Thank you for letting us know how we can improve the Jackson Mountain Homes experience for all our guests. Don’t forget that next time you stay with us, you will receive a 10% return customer discount that can also be used in our other locations such as: Hilton Head, Florida, New Mexico, and Hawaii.

Could Use some updating
I have no major complaints other than the view is a bit blocked by trees. We did not cook hardly at all, so the kitchen satisfied our needs. The place needs a bit of updating and some details need attending to...The carpet had patches that were not secured to floor...Couch had a scent that smelled like pet urine...The chairs in front of the fireplace we not the most comfortable, but were OK. Overall we enjoyed our stay but probably will not stay in this cabin ever again...

This is an okay cabin
The overall impression of this cabin is positive. The reason it's just okay is that there seemed to be the impression "just enough" was done to accommodate guest.
There could have been more clean towels, Better pillows, we finally found the extra pillow cases when we stripped the bed. They were under the sheets. it would have been nice to have minimal spices like salt and pepper available. We were there an hour early and had to wait on the front porch until 4p. It really should accommodate an early arrival without threat of additional nights stay.
Little things like DVD/BLUE RAY in each room. Eventually you get use to the alpine slide clanking down the hill.
On the plus side,
The gas fireplace was great and the hot tub was wonderful.
The view was Okay. It was out there..but blocked by trees.
Location ...
Plus..Very secluded
Minus..Very secluded.
If you are looking for a few days of quiet and solitude, this would be a great place. If you are looking to get involved in town or anywhere other than the cabin. It was not so good. That drive up and down the hill grows old very quickly.

Hello James,
We are very much appreciative of your feedback. Understanding some of your frustrations, we do hope that you were able to still enjoy your vacation up in the mountains. It was our pleasure to assist you in finding your accommodations and if there was anything we could have done to make your stay much more enjoyable, it would have been our pleasure. Mountain getaways are the best but not all can take the uphill drive to give you those mountain and green views. As we understand that our guests need sometime to adjust to their new home, we do gladly provide guests with the basic essentials to get you started before you can get your needed refreshments for your stay. If there was anything additional that we could have provided you, our offices would have been more than happy to assist you. We are sorry to hear that an early Check In could not be approved for you. It is not to be unjust but to follow the procedures for the season. Again, we do thank you for your feedback and we hope that you will allow us the opportunity to host you once more in the future.
