About this property
Central, pet friendly! Walk everywhere in the Orange CBD
Built in 1876, this two storey terrace is part of Bowen Terrace, a NSW state heritage listed property on the edge of Orange CBD. Recently restored, with many of its original features retained, the terrace is in an ideal base from which visitors can easily explore Orange. Tastefully decorated with a combination of antique and retro furniture, the terrace is both spacious and cosily comfortable. SMALL/MEDIUM pets welcome! The terrace offers a convenient and chic alternative to hotel accommodation.
The sleeping and living arrangements at the terrace are best suited for up to 6 adults (or older children). The two large master bedrooms have queen beds and the smaller upstairs bedroom at the rear has a double bed. The upstairs master bedroom stretches the width of the terrace and features two French doors. The downstairs queen bedroom is situated in the original terrace drawing room and has an antique brass bed. All bedrooms feature twin bedside lamps and tables and embroidered sheets.
The lounge room is downstairs and contains a large African day bed and 3 retro armchairs for reading, chatting or watching television. There is also a modern gas log fire and an antique chapel organ.
The lounge leads onto a spacious dining room with a terracotta floor and a large country table. There is also some occasional seating including an antique chaise lounge. A French door opens from the dining room onto a sunny courtyard where there is outdoor seating. The courtyard and dining room are filled with morning sun so they are ideal spots for breakfast.
For anyone wishing to dine in, there is also a separate kitchen with stove, oven, range hood, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and the basic cooking equipment you need to whip up a breakfast or light meal. Basic condiments such as oil, balsamic, salt and pepper are provided as are tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There is also a coffee pod machine/milk frother.
There are two large bathrooms - the upstairs bathroom has a shower, vanity and toilet and the downstairs bathroom contains a shower bath (jacuzzi) vanity basin and toilet. Body wash, hand soap and towels are provided for both.
The upstairs rooms of the terrace have central heating/air conditioning. In the cooler months, the downstairs rooms are heated with individually controlled panel heaters as well as the gas log fire in the lounge. There are also electric blankets fitted to all the beds should they be needed. There are portable fans available for the downstairs rooms for the warmer months.
