Waterfront 3BR Cottage with Hot Tub, Kayaks & Dog-Friendly Yard – Near Bethany

Wilgus Associates prides themselves on excellent customer service. We do our best to address any issues a guest may have. Sometimes, people are just not nice and just like to complain. Case in point: I would like to note before we respond to the issues listed above that the husband told the owner that he had no issues with home and that everything was fine. A little education for those of you who are not aware: VRBO is an advertising platform used by many local companies, we are one. Some homes are listed on this site directly by owners, but many are listings from real-estate offices or property management companies (depending on the area). When you book one of our listings, the data pushes through to our direct booking platform, at this point, other than paying the VRBO fee, you are done with VRBO. All contact should be with us directly and that information is provided on all communications. In this instance, she sent several messages through the VRBO platform that we did not receive until Monday. (By this time, she had already cornered the owner while he was at his boat on the canal) Not standard but they are great owners and proceeded to address her concerns. (They even asked to use their boat and crab pots, which the owner politely declined.) The owner then called me and asked if I had heard from the guest because she said she sent us many messages and that we were unresponsive. We said no, we have not received anything. Later, we did get a message. At that time, we called and discussed what issues that she needed addressed and she said nothing. She did want to complain about an old spot on the ceiling near a bedroom window from a prior roof leak (no actual leak), that the home was a trailer and she didn't realize that (it is a very nice class c (and you can tell that by the pictures), a class C is considered a home), that the coffee pot leaked but that the owner immediately brought her one and 60 pods and told her she ordered a new one, which was delivered and she never opened it (after going on and on about how she had to have coffee to start her day) and she wanted noted that the floor sloped in the rear hall - that bothered her immensely. We asked if it was a safety hazard or concern and she replied no. There was never any mention of issues with the hot tub but upon further inspection, the hot tub is fine. Service came early in her stay and treated the spa. It had turned green because the previous guest failed to follow the instructions and shower before entering (sun tan lotion/oil wreaks havoc on spas). She also never mentioned the bathrooms being small. Pleas note, you can clearly see from the photos that they are not large rooms. As for nightstands, we have found that renters prefer a larger bed to nightstands. The room just isn't large enough to fit both, hence only 1 side table. And as for the linens - she called on WEDNESDAY (5 days in to her stay), after a Saturday check in, asking for a refund because she didn't know that the linens on the front step (with a note, property address and date on them) were hers. We politely told her that was her error, that we were available by phone Saturday night to answer questions and help with any issues. She did not like that answer, proceeded to call the 3rd party vendor, who told her the same thing, she then continued to argue with him until he ended the call. At no point did anyone "hang up" on any call. We look forward to showing any future guest what great hospitality we here at Wilgus Associates provide.

We have a new cleaning crew for this home!! May 2024.

We do not apply any fees after check out unless you have damaged something. Not sure if you have us confused with another agency.

We have all new cleaning staff for that home and the owner does supply 2 kayaks and 1 paddle board. All other "toys" you will have to bring!
