This month, two friends and I stayed at Villa Nesanur Beachside, Sanur, and I can honestly say that this beautiful traditional villa met and exceeded every expectation.
The villa featured a private pool, spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a magnificent lounge area, and a separate dining room. The kitchen was incredible, with more space and storage than most kitchens I have seen, including my own.
Our goal was simple. We wanted a relaxing holiday, and that is exactly what we found. The pool was perfect, and having inflatable loungers already in the water ready to use was a lovely touch. We made use of them every single day.
The sun loungers around the pool remained shaded throughout the day, and the large umbrella provided even more comfort during the warmer hours. It was the perfect place to unwind with a book, a drink, or simply enjoy doing nothing at all.
The staff were exceptional. And when I say exceptional, I mean every single member of the team. Everyone genuinely wanted us to have a wonderful holiday, nothing was too much trouble, and any questions we had through WhatsApp were answered almost immediately.
A special mention must go to Arie, who absolutely spoiled us with delicious breakfasts and a farewell dinner on our final evening. The dinner was better than many of the meals we enjoyed at local restaurants, and we only wished we had arranged more dinners at the villa during our stay. As for breakfast, all I can say is WOW. Every morning felt like a feast and kept us going for most of the day.
The villa was immaculately maintained. The pool was cleaned daily, the gardens tended every day, and housekeeping was available daily as well. We chose not to use the cleaning service every day, but it was wonderful to have the option. Dewi and the entire team were simply fantastic.
From the moment we were collected at the airport until the time we were dropped off for our return flight, the service was seamless. The warm welcome we received on arrival immediately told us we were going to have a memorable holiday.
The villa is only a short walk from the beach and the beachfront promenade. As an added bonus, the walk takes you past Carla's Spa, where the foot massages are absolutely heavenly.
After chatting with local residents, I learned that this part of Sanur is predominantly a residential area. I can completely understand why so many Balinese choose to live and holiday in Sanur. It is peaceful, welcoming, and has a relaxed charm that is hard to describe.
Our holiday was perfect in every way. When I returned home, my daughter asked whether there was anything I would change about the trip. I replied, "No." She then asked, "So you got it right the first time?" My answer was a very enthusiastic "YES!"
