Beach front pet friendly modern family home

This pet-friendly, fenced property is opposite Brooms Head main beach where you can see the ocean from the front door. Walk across the road to a beautiful beach, enjoy a game of cricket in the spacious yard or walk to the club for a meal. The newly refurbished general store is a short walk. Visit idyllic places close by- RedCliff, Sandon, Maclean, Yamba. A peaceful little village surrounded by national park. The back beach is spectacular and there are heritage listed rock pools and tea-tree lakes. Great fishing, wonderful walks, bird watching. The cottage has a lovely energy of days gone by when life was simpler!!

Great location. The enclosed yard was great for our little dog Private despite it being on the main road. Only negative was that the lawn hadn’t been mowed for quite some time so the grass was very long. It was a shame because everything else was fine.

Great location, easy stroll across to beach & local convenience store or bowlo. A real fishing shack with neat renovations that add all the family holiday essentials like a wrap around verandah, full size fridge, fans, big comfy bed, washing machine & dryer. Huge fenced backyard, ideal for dogs & close to stunning off-leash beach. Friendly locals, unforgettable views, perfect for long beach walks

Great escape with pups as well

We had a great time at “The Broom” - one of the local gems around the Maclean area. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive and the place was exactly what we needed. Was so appreciative to be able to bring the pups along for the relax at the beach. Looking forward to next time. Cheers Jo, Alex, Figgsy & Cha Cha Charlie 🐶🐶

We always love visiting Brooms Head, have been going there for over 20 years, it was a lovely holiday. Located across from the beach, lovely shady trees at the front also providing privacy for the front deck. The accommodation was good, however we provide some observations with good intentions as they are all superficial and easy to address: - upon arrival the home was not locked, front doors were open- it was not very well cleaned, counter tops were greasy, ceiling fans dusty- crockery was not washed well, coffee cups all had coffee/tea marks. - a lot of cockroaches that came out at night, we purchased cockroach baits to get rid of them- no dishcloths to wash up with, we purchased some along with other cleaning productsOur first day there we spent cleaning the cupboards, crockery and cutlery. The tops of the fridge and cupboards above the food-prep area was covered with dust grease and cockroach pooh. Once we cleaned this up everything was good and our stay was comfortable.The advertisement stating ‘dog friendly’ is misleading. The manual for home usage provided explains that dogs are not allowed inside and are required to stay outdoors. This was disappointing to learn, we would not have booked this accommodation if this was known upfront. Also, there are various locations where the dog can escape the yard or go underneath the home which we had to block off. Lastly, there is nowhere to store belongings/unpack suitcase. All cupboards are full/locked.

Lovely beach cottage

My husband, myself and our little dog stayed for 7 nights in this renovated cottage which was well stocked, clean comfy and an excellent location. I can’t fault the house but there were 2 things that were misleading in the initial ad. Firstly, the ad stated pet friendly but it was only after I paid in full that the owner sent a manual stating pets outside only. This should be stated clearly on the ad as the majority of pet owners have dogs inside with them. Secondly, we were looking forward to watching movies at night, but were unable to access Stan, Netflix etc unless we signed in with our own account. We don’t have these channels at home and did not want the hassle of joining. This is the only place we’ve ever stayed in where this has happened. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay.

Awesome little home away from home with everything you need flat vacation at the beach with a little family and fur babies. Goats very accommodating and the location is perfect to get to where you need to be.

The house exceeded expectations, everything we needed was there. Only 2 of us, but it could comfortably cater for up to 8 people! We used the outdoor shower and dunny every day and appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and board games. The location was excellent for walking the dogs which we enjoyed twice a day. A wonderful holiday for everyone.

Our Anniversaries

I'm not good doing anything online but this turned out to be easy. Great information from the owners. We weren't clear about the linen but when we realised we didn't have to make up the beds, that was a little bonus. Only one drawback and that was the outhouse toilet which didn't turn out to be much of a hassle. All in all we loved our stay and would love to return.
