We had a group of 6 stay here comfortably. The location is just 10 minutes away from a station and the walk down Flower St was always a pleasure. The neighborhood was very nice and it was a great time to walk around.
This place was an excellent place to stay. Very clean and accommodating. Beautiful rooms. Very close to a 7-11 and many shops and restaurants nearby. Our group enjoyed calling this place home for our stay in Japan. I highly recommend it.

awesome stay
we really enjoyed this property. it was a bit. outside of tokyo so it took at least 45 mins to get anywhere but the property itself was great. little bit of difficulty for americans to figure out the shower but generally good. we had a leak in the toilet and. the owner was very responsive and got someone out right away. they helped us with everything we needed and appreciated it. highly recommend as long as you are okay with taking the train
This was our 2nd stay at Green House for an extended period. We stayed here again because the first time, Green House and the neighborhood, just felt like home. Green House has everything you need to cook and serve a several course meal, entertain friends, watch the sunset from your private upstairs deck, have some private space (a rarity in Tokyo!), and a nice long soak in the ofuro (bathtub). The neighborhood has several grocery stores, 3 shopping streets, plus the Japanese neighbors are really nice when you strike up a conversation with them. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay and location - Green House has it all.
Loved this traditional Japanese house and neighborhood
Great find! Charming two story Japanese home fully equipped with kitchen appliances and utensils and washer/dryer. Staying in a Japanese neighborhood was a real treat! 5 minute walk to Kiowa station and we could go anywhere in Tokyo or Japan for that matter by train. Countless resteraunts on Flower Rd. Walk to the station with a great Indian restaurant nearby. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this property !
This VRBO is smaller than you’re imagining by looking at the pictures, but the good thing about that is you get the real Japanese experience. Four adult kids slept downstairs; one couple on futons and the other couple in the bed. The two other adults and child slept upstairs on bed and futon. Just like many homes in Japan, there is no dryer, so keep in mind you’ll hang your clothes to dry. Koiwa was a great little city, with everything within walking distance. We were all sad to leave the green house after a week of becoming accustomed to it. The thermostat in the kitchen to the left of the entrance to the bath area, heats the bath water. Contact the manager with any questions; he’s quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again!
We met the host at check in and he kindly showed us the trickier things around the house like the water heater, fancy thermostat, and gas stove. He let us know he was about 15 minutes away if we needed anything. That was a nice reassurance. The stairs are small and no handrail but there are non slip bars on each step for a bit of safety. The balcony was set up nicely and we enjoyed our morning coffee out there. The decor was a nice addition. There's a working washer, no dryer. The location needed two JR trains to get most places (Akihabara was just one). We were on the go all day during this part of our trip. The green house was a comfortable place to recharge and shower for the next long day. And host was nice and responsive. So that's always a huge plus.
Communication was excellent-we got our questions answered almost immediately. We have Japanese friends who wanted us to stay with them; they felt no rental property could be as good as their home. Of course they had to inspect where we were staying. They left very satisfied and said we'd made a very good choice. We were able to host dining parties and even cook full Japanese meals.
Many people will be thrilled by the large smart TV. The house is in an area that's like a small community. There are 6 grocery stores, 4 convenience stores within a 10-minute walk. You can walk (or take the bus) from the home to the train station in 10 minutes or less and that will take you anywhere in Tokyo. We lived for several years in a small town in western Tokyo, near Mitaka and we felt that was our Japanese home town. After this stay, Koiwa is our new home town.
1. Service
Excellent service, always answering questions immediatly and providing missing things within hours.
2. Location
The apartment is part of a two-apartment house. The one we booked is having a sleeping room on third floor with a nice roof deck. On second floor there are bathroom, toilet, kitchen and a combined living room and bed room. It is a very typical japanese apartment. The house is located in Koiwa. The next train station is appr. 1,2 km away. It is the JB line (Chūō-Sōbu Line) which takes appr. 30 min to e.g. Shinjuku. There a several super markets, restaurants and other shops at the so called Flower road.
3. Kitchen
The cabinets in the kitchen are filled up with various kitchen accessories which is more a collection.
4. Heating
We spent two weeks end of December / begin of January in this apartment. The heating via air conditioning unit is not very powerful with the result that it was chilly.
5. Housekeeping
All rooms were clean. The renter mentioned that his team needs several hours for house keeping but this I really doubt.
6. Language
A translation app (Japanese - English) is very, very helpful.
7. Summary
This is a place we want to visit again but not during winter (see my comment re heating)
Your home away from home. This was our 3rd stay at Green House and it again felt like coming home. From a fully stocked kitchen, to toiletries, to internet, and washing machine, Green House is ready for you to move into, relax, and enjoy being in Tokyo. If you have questions the answers from the host are only a very quick response email away. Plus there are staff within a few minutes that can help you at a moment's notice. The large screen smart TV offers you local channels plus, Youtube, and Netflix access. A convenience store is a block away with 2 grocery stores within a few minutes. It's in a quiet neighborhood tucked off a main street, Flower Road. And if you don't want to cook yourself, an izakaya, Japanese, Chinese, Indian/Nepali restaurants are within a few minutes walk. You'll come away with wonderful memories, ease of access to the train station, taxis, buses that can take you everywhere (even Disneyland), and the airport limousine to both Haneda and Narita. Green House and Koiwa truly feel like home.
