The Space:
Apartment 9 is a well located one-bedroom apartment at The Sands, positioned above the quieter end of Onetangi Beach with views across Onetangi Bay from the main living area.
The apartment has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Large windows bring natural light into the space and frame the outlook towards the water. The lounge is arranged for relaxing between beach visits, meals out or vineyard trips, while the dining area sits beside the window with a clear view across the bay.
The full kitchen gives guests the option to self-cater during their stay. It includes modern appliances and the essentials needed for breakfasts, simple meals, snacks and drinks at home.
The bedroom is separate from the main living area and includes a king bed. The apartment is best suited to couples or solo travellers wanting a comfortable base near Onetangi Beach.
The bathroom is clean and practical, with a tiled shower and vanity.
Guests also have access to the shared gas BBQ facilities in the landscaped common area at The Sands. Beach towels are provided for guests staying at The Sands properties managed by Stay Waiheke.

Apartment 9 is located above the quiet end of Onetangi Beach, one of Waiheke’s best-known beach areas. The location gives guests easy access to the beach, local cafés, beachfront restaurants and nearby vineyards.
Charlie Farley’s and the Beach Store Waiheke are nearby for coffee, breakfast and casual beachside dining. Three Seven Two and Ki Māha are close options for lunch or dinner near the water. The Heke is nearby for smoked meats, modern grill-style food and onsite craft beer, while Casita Miro offers Spanish-inspired shared plates in a vineyard setting.
Nearby wineries include Tantalus Estate and Obsidian Vineyard, both convenient for tastings or vineyard lunches.
This location works well for guests who want to stay close to Onetangi Beach while still being within easy reach of food, wine and transport options.

The nearest bus stop is on Fourth Avenue / The Strand.
Buses run from Onetangi towards Oneroa and Matiatia passenger ferry terminal, with stops close to several major wineries and island locations along the way.

Other Things to Note:
This is a self-catered holiday apartment, not a fully catered stay. A starter supply of essentials is provided, including toilet paper, coffee, tea and milk, to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.
Heating is provided by a fan heater in the bedroom and a panel heater in the lounge.
The Sands operates on rainwater tanks, so guests must be mindful of water use, especially during summer.
Smoking policy:
There is no smoking inside the apartment or on the balconies. External smoke detectors are fitted, and any triggered alarm that results in a Fire Brigade call-out will incur a $5,000 fee charged to the guest. Smoking is permitted only in the designated picnic area.
