Large 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath Craftsman style home on a peaceful Lake Hartwell lot minutes from downtown Hartwell with a covered dock on the property and one minute from local boat ramp. Home offers plenty of room for entertaining with well-equipped kitchen (Keurig, regular coffee maker, toaster, blender, and can opener) open to the living area, large downstairs rear patio perfect for grilling (with grill and outdoor bar set), screened-in porch, and finished basement (with wet bar and large screen Smart TV). Master on main floor contains a queen, upstairs bedrooms contain a king and a kids room with two sets of bunk beds, and basement also has a separate queen bedroom and bath. Backyard leads to property's private covered dock with spacious views of the lake.

Comfortable beds and accurate listing! We didn’t have a chance to use the lake or kitchen much because we were attending wedding events but well-equipped! Our only suggestion is to provide trash bags, as we have never been to a rental without them, and we missed this in the instructions! Wonderful hosts and prompt communication. Thank you!

The house was a little hard to find, especially arriving after dark but it was exactly what we were looking for, a family reunion far away from busy life. The house is perfect for family gathering, very clean, charming and spacious, the outside is beautiful right by the lake. We enjoyed our long weekend with fishing, BBQ’s, bonfire and family time.

We had a lovely stay in this nice home on Lake Hartwell. We were very busy so we didn't spend much time there, but the time we did was nice and relaxing. There were so many beautiful and musical birds in the backyard trees! The home was very clean and neat. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, and the ice machine on the counter was fun to use.The bedrooms could use an extra blanket as the bedspreads are thin. Bathrooms were great.The house is in a perfect location! Nice and quiet on the lake, and the neighbors are not on top of you. It would be great to come back and enjoy in the summer for fishing and kayaking.The only thing I would suggest to consider is a handrail to go up the front steps. They are very deep and can be a struggle for anyone not completely able. We loved it, and loved Hartwell! Thank you for opening your home!

We bought this house several years ago for our eventual retirement, so we would have a chance to return home to Georgia more often. At the time, we were living in Ohio with our two children, and we felt that investing in a future retirement lake house was a great way to see our family more and build memories with our kids while they are still young.

Why they chose this property

We chose Lake Hartwell because it is a beautiful lake situated between two unique college towns and is perfect for both fishing and recreational boating. One of the reasons why we chose this house is because we wanted a place that would comfortably accommodate multiple friends and family members and provide a great space for entertaining. Lastly, we were looking for a place in the city of Hartwell because we wanted to offer guests the convenience of being centrally located to local shops and amenities.

What makes this property unique

You may notice if you rent the house that it is named Paula's Place. We lost my husband's mom to cancer in 2014, and she always dreamed of owning a house by the water when she retired. We were so upset that she never realized her dream that we took the risk and bought this house--fulfilling a lifelong dream of hers and ours. We ultimately chose this particular house after falling in love with both the look of it inside and outside, the open gazebo/fire pit area in the front, and its views of the lake from every bedroom.
