Enjoyed the stay, plenty of room for us and nice to be right on the ocean. The description states it sleeps six. However, the sofa in the living room was not a futon or fold out, just removable cushions.

Akumal Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Lol ka 'Naab. Leticia was excellent, always available, knowledgeable and so helpful. The condo is situated 15 minutes walk to the village and a five minute walk to La Lunita and La Buena Vida, two great ocean front restaurants. The condo was very nice with all the necessities we needed. The beach / pool area was just as the pictures show. We will definitely return next year!.

Nice location but condo in need of updating

Positives: spectacular views, washer & dryer in-suite, good location, a/c Negatives: older unit in need of repairs & updating, beds not very comfortable. There was a problem with the sceptic tank which caused a terrible odour in our unit for 3 days before it was rectified - vrbo did not compensate us.

I want to address the issue of the septic specifically. There were heavy rains in Akumal when the guest arrived. The rain caused the cistern to become flooded. The guest messaged me about a problem with a smell in the back bedroom of her unit. Immediately I took action and within hours of her report I had trucks and men arriving to drain the septic and the cistern which corrected the problem. I also offered to move the guest to another unit because the smell issue was only affecting their unit and nowhere else in the building. Furthermore the guest received some compensation. Its unfortunate that the guest experienced some problems during their stay as a result of the rain. This is not a common occurance. We did everything possible to solve the guest's problem and we did it quickly.

Why they chose this property

Akumal is a great place for scuba divers, swimmers and snorkellers because it's on the Mesoamerican reef and Yucutan cave system. There are amazing ocean dive sites 5 minutes from shore, plus there are many cenotes nearby that you can swim, snorkel and scuba dive in as well. Akumal is a very safe community that is lively with lots of great restaurants, but also offers some peace and quiet that you don't get in the more heavily populated nearby downtown Tulum or Playa Del Carmen areas. I like it here because it has some great restaurants and lively bars but is also very laid back and relaxing and does not feel touristy. The bay does not allow boats and so it is very private. It is shallow for swimming and always warm.
