Off the beaten path
House was great. Was out in the forest and fairly secluded. Housed our 6 member family great and was comfortable even when it was 110 outside. Kids had fun with the foosball and nerf guns and had everything we could have asked for.

From the Owner: "Glad you were all comfortable and enjoyed the house. We love being secluded in the forest, hence the name “ Sopchoppy Seclusion” !"
The house was great. Cute old florida house. Unfortunately the deer fly were pretty bad couldn't enjoy the deck on the river. Would have been better at a different time of the year. The house had everything we needed well stocked

Hi Tamara, we’re so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the house and had everything you needed during your stay. As Florida does experience seasonal insects like flies and mosquitoes, we apologize for any inconvenience they may have caused. That said, we’re delighted the home itself met your expectations. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us!
This home is a beautiful quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of busy lives! Everything you need is there and the home is exactly as depicted in the listing! Excellent hosts and we will be back again next year! Thank you, Mark & Jennifer
Peaceful, secluded retreat.
Well equipped!

FSU game weekend R&R
We enjoyed seeing FSU and staying at this nice Fishing Cabin. My husband and I enjoyed seeing the night stars, breakfast on the porch and watching the fish jump in the river. The cabin was clean well equipped and very quiet. The deer and wild life was plentiful.Thank you for a much needed break from our busy life.

From the owner: "We are glad you had a great weekend. It’s so good to getaway and do something different. Quiet and nature are good. Go Seminoles!"
We had the best time out there. Loved the house, the location, the nature. Exactly what we were looking for - a place away from the world but close enough to anything we would need/want. The house was clean and very well stocked. Much bigger than I expected. We got to visit the beach, parks and kayak in the river all in the same trip. We saw a couple of alligators in the river. Fishing is awesome! We didn’t want to go home haha! The hosts are just amazing people. They were very quick to respond to a last minute question we had. They were really friendly and helpful. Linda and Randy thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

From the owner: "Carlos: We are so thrilled you had such a great time. We loved the photos you sent of the fish you caught; they were AMAZING! It gives us great pleasure to know you made some memories with your family. Thanks for being such an awesome guest. We wish you many future fun fishing trips !"
It was roomy, modern, quiet, remote, well stocked. My only wish would have been for more comfortable seats in the living room. The couch was too big, slippery, and soft for my bad back. A smaller firmer upholstered arm chair would have served me better. I had to sit in the dining chairs to get the support I need. Also, my husband had to crawl out of the recliners and turn them over to close. Everything else was perfect.

Hi Libby, thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The homeowner has asked us to pass along the following message: "Libby, I am glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your feedback. I am sorry about your back and will definitely consider some alternative seating. Thank you for choosing us and we wish you safe travels."
This home is on a lovely piece of land on a river with an amazing view from the dock. The house was spacious enough for 3 couples and we felt the kitchen was very well-equipped for cooking in terms of pots, pans, knives, etc. Beware that although the listing says there are kayaks, you cannot put them in the water at the property, it’s too steep. The deck is also pretty wobbly and there are some bees that seem interested in the location, but that didn’t deter us. The rooms were plenty dark and the house was quiet for sleeping, but if you need firm mattresses, these were very soft. You also need to flip a switch on in the living room for hot water, which we learned the hard way. The wifi worked well for us but also beware that there is no cell service and no house phone. When we had a question for the hosts, we had to drive 10-15 minutes away to ask them. Our issue was a very strong-smelling cleaning product that had been left in the house, and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful when we got in touch with them. Just had to leave to get a quick answer. Last issue was there wasn’t much privacy in the Jack and Jill bathroom if that is being shared between friends—the sliding door didn’t close all the way. My impression is that this is a new Vrbo and the hosts want to make it nice and will be accommodating, but certain kinks hadn’t been worked out yet. I imagine some of what I’ve written here would already be fixed by the next time someone rents the home, they’re just things that I would’ve wanted to know when I booked. It’s a nice price for the location and space.

Shared from the owners: "Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed the space and time. You are correct, this is our first and only vacation property, we simply want to share the place we love with others and share the experience while covering some of our costs.
You are also correct; we do address concerns as quickly as possible. We want all of our guests to be as delighted as we are with the location and property. We bought the kayaks for our use, and post that guests need to take them to Mack’s Landing for launch. Not everyone has that ability, however, for those that do the river is untouched and amazing. As soon as possible we will have a floating dock installed but we have not been able to find a contractor to complete the work this year. The deck itself has been inspected and is safe.
The water heater switch is marked and although we have written instructions about general house information, we will find a way to assure it is not turned off. The Damp Rid was purchased to help absorb some of the moisture due to the humidity (hence, the chemical smell detected). Since our conversation, it has been removed for future guests.
Thank you again. We appreciate your comments and your sharing of our home. "

From the owner: "Thanks for choosing us and leaving a positive review! We are very happy you had a great stay. If you're back in the area, please consider us again."
Very relaxing environment. Surrounded by forest and river in the backyard. Off the main road about 1mile gravel road to the destination. Two other houses beside. So no reason to be scared. House was very nice and relaxing. Enough space.
