Great place to stay!
This house was perfect and just as listed. Very clean and perfect location for us. We wanted to go tubing and there is a tube rental business within walking distance!
Lovely historical home full of nooks and crannies. Loved the uniqueness of property. Plenty of space and gathering areas. Great porch with plenty of seating. Kitchen roomy and stocked. Bedrooms are roomy. Wonderful having 3 full bathrooms. 5 star in my opinion!!!
The property is very well kept and spacious it’s perfect if you are wanting to spend time with your loved ones or you just need a get away. The river is right across the street and the scenery is beautiful. Would definitely stay again. The owners are very nice and attentive to anything you need. All in all a great place!
We had the best second stay at the farmhouse. This place is so cozy and has everything anyone needs for a stay.
The weather wasn’t as cooperative as it could have been but a rainy day away is better than a rainy day at home any day!
We will be back again!!
My family and I stayed at this house while visiting other family in the area. The house is gorgeous, spacious and cozy at the same time. I loved the little room where the kids played games and the living room whose couch was perfect for reading late in the afternoon. When car troubles prevented us from coming in on time, John and Michele were very kind and accommodating. I'd love to stay again.
This farmhouse is so charming and peaceful. There is nothing that we needed. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need and it’s there for you. Located less than 1 mile from our kayak take-out point of Kings Creek access. Very convenient. We loved it and will definitely book again.
This home was the most comfortable of all of the Vrbo homes we have rented. It was exceptionally clean and everything we could have needed was provided. The house itself is interesting because it is a great mix of an older build with modern touches. There are spaces for gathering together as a family, and the room off of the kitchen serves both as a game room and is also very peaceful as it is kind of secluded from the rest of the house. We loved relaxing on the hammock on the front porch. Thank you for such a nice stay at this home.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
My family and I (Husband and 3 kids) stayed in this house for 3 nights. The home is beautiful, views were gorgeous, it is so comfy and cozy. We had PLENTY of room. Kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with everything you need. Extensive DVD collection😁! As nice as this property is one of the things that made it even more amazing is the communication and kindness of the owner. I had read in other reviews that the owner was very nice and accommodating, but have never rented from one like this one. Literally ANYTHING you need or questions about how to work things, he was on it! I can’t recommend this place enough. It could comfortably fit 8 or 9 people. We will definitely be staying again when we are in this area!!❤️❤️

Mountains, River, Family and Friends Getaway - What could be better?
We had a great week relaxing in the awesome and comfortable house…exploring on the Blue Ridge Parkway, West Jefferson, Lansing, various breweries and cideries, and the New River…and eating delicious meals in and out (most well equipped kitchen of any rental we’ve ever had!).
It was the perfect week…weather was cool and crisp which made the fireplace a great place to gather and “chill”! The leaves were beautiful, especially in the sunlight. We encountered so many animals driving around…I cannot wait to bring my grandsons here!
My favorite part (and it was hard to pick) had to be the rockers on the front porch!
I highly recommend for anyone looking for a mountain getaway. You can actually pack light because they have thought of everything you might need!
I am looking forward to visiting in the summer and doing some kayaking or tubing from the park that’s less than a mile away!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful house!

"Dianne and her group were great guests. They came during a good time to view the leaves changing colors. We hope they come again in the summer to enjoy activities on the water."
My friends and I just left this farmhouse after a long weekend together. We found the home to be clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable for us.
For the most part, it is very quiet and peaceful. There is a campground just down the road from the house. So, we found that traffic picked up a little bit on Thursday evening with campers coming in for the weekend. But, by dark, there was hardly any noise or cars at all. We cooked every night and found everything we needed to make our meals was available in this house. We had packed things like a hand mixer, but it turned out that there was one in the cabinet when we got there. The owners were very communicative. They even left us some dry kindling and s'mores makings after I had emailed to find out about firewood.
We went to Mt Jefferson State Park and walked some trails. We shopped around in West Jefferson and we made a trip over to Mayberry (Mt. Airy).
We enjoyed a peaceful, relaxing long weekend and I would definitely stay here again if I was going to explore the area further.
