A lovely clean house close to the beach!! We really enjoyed our stay and it fit our needs quite well. Quiet neighborhood. A couple things I could mention…there were no washcloths at all in the house and low on towels, also the nice big jet tub our daughter was so looking forward to using has no workable jets a sign told us! (our stay was in honor of her birthday) Had we known that we likely would have stayed at one with a jacuzzi.

Thank you for the kind words about the home’s cleanliness, location, and quiet neighborhood. I’m sorry there weren’t enough towels and washcloths, and that the tub’s jets weren’t working—especially since your daughter was looking forward to using it. We will follow up with housekeeping to ensure the towel supply is replenished. We will also update the listing to reflect that the tub's jets are no longer operational. Thank you again for the meaningful feedback.

The house was satisfactory for our needs, however the amenities were not sufficient. we had 8 guests but 7 towels, 6 dinner plates. Not all sinks had hand soap which should be provided for sanitary reasons, There is an apartment over garage for use that was not reflecting on the property listing, no photos or anything. We had no idea until we got there.

Thank you for the review and for noting that the house worked for your group. I'm sorry the supplies and amenities fell short — the shortages of towels, plates, and missing hand soap are unacceptable. We've asked housekeeping to add to the home's inventory and restock toiletries in every sink. I also apologize for the surprise regarding the apartment above the garage; we'll update the listing with clear photos and a full description of all on-site units so future guests aren’t caught off guard. Thank you for the feedback — it helps us improve, and we hope to host you again.

Family getaway

We had a great time staying at Bella Bear. It was more than spacious enough for our extended family of 7. Homey and comfortable with all the basics for food prep. The nearly empty beach is just a couple minute walk away.

Great place for Family to gather

This house was located in a nice little coastal community. It was close to the beach and had a nice view from the two balcony's. It was a little dated, but very clean and accommodating. It was nice that even though the dining table has 6 chairs, there were additional nice folding chairs in closet. We would definitely stay here again.

Such an adorable home...perfect for our three families! Clean freak here...it was very clean. Master bed was great...bath has only a large tub. Steep stairs going upstairs where the bedrooms were nice...older, spring mattresses...Jack and Jill shower/toilet room was perfect off bedrooms. Definitely needed more washcloths, which we were not given upon request. Also needs extra supplies like laundry soap for cleaning towels, etc. Ocean view was just a few steps off the front porch. Nice walk to beach...there are lots of nice steps...lovely, quiet beach. Parking was off street with garage available. Neighborhood was lovely and quiet...houses were adorable. House is located a short drive away from downtown with lots of shops...we also enjoyed Newport and Florence. The ocean drive along the highway is breathtaking. There are tons of parks, lighthouses and sea life to view. Our family traveled from Missouri to see our daughter graduate from OSU. It was a nice and beautiful trip as we traveled to and from the college. Our family would definitely stay at this home again and highly recommend it!

Thank you for the 5-star review, Kim! I’m glad our home worked so well for your three families and that the cleanliness stood out to you. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the primary bed, the ocean view, quiet beach, and proximity to Newport and Florence. Our housekeeping team is actually planning a soap/supply kit overhaul that should take effect next week. The kits will now include more of everything, so that our guests won't have to worry about running through the kit too quickly. Congratulations to your daughter on her OSU graduation — so glad your trip was a beautiful one. We’d love to host you again and appreciate your recommendation!

It worked

The size of the home was great for 4 adults and 2 kids. Space to gather and hang. And space to be alone. The cleanliness of the home can be improved. Stains on walls, dirty and unvacuumed carpets, dead bugs all around.

Daughters graduation

We fly to Oregon to watch our daughter graduate and chose to stay in Depoe Bay/Bella beach. My husband is originally from Toledo and we currently live in St. Louis Missouri. Loved the house and the location was perfect. The beach was right there and the ocean sound was so relaxing in the evenings. The house had everything we needed. Great property!

Love this neighborhood! House is very close to beach access. All was as clean as could be with old carpet and old furniture which needs updating /replacing, but beds comfortable enough. Steps to upstairs bedrooms would be difficult for older folks for sure , and getting bags upstairs not easy. Manager responded quickly when code didn't work for entry.Tidal Raves as always is the MUST EAT restaurant - always top notch. Call ahead for wait time and get on the list. Café C'est La Vie (edge of the neighborhood) has great coffees and great breakfast options.

Thanksgiving

Family decided to do the coast for the holiday. House looked great on the web page. The jacuzzi tub didn't work, by reading the guest book on the coffee table it hasn't worked in years. I needed to have my husband and son open the sliding door for me. Very hard to open. And there was not enough hot or even warm water to have a shower. There were 6 adults and 4 children 2 and under. Beautiful location.

Birthday celebration

I would've given this property a 5 star rating across the board except for 2 items. There is not a shower in the primary bathroom and the beds were a bit hard and difficult for those of us who have back problems. Otherwise the house was really an awesome property and had all the amenities, even beach towels, that we needed for our stay and is perfectly located to enjoy all of the activities that are to be enjoyed in Depoe Bay. A manual explaining all of the systems in the home would be extremely helpful.

Disappointed Guests, not Worth the Money

I don’t know where to begin. There was a ton of outside garbage that greeted us when we arrived. The carpets were full of stains, beds uncomfortable, sheets stained and ripped. The door knobs and around the door knobs were dirty. The refrigerator was rusted on the outside, ice maker broken a lot of the outlets in the kitchen didn’t work. The hot tub was no where to be found. Furniture is old, tired and stained. The lamp table rocked back and forth. The room above the garage stunk of mildew as well as the garage. It is unfortunate that a beautiful house and property has not been maintained.

great location, but that's about it...

My family and I stayed here recently, there were 7 adults and 3 children. We booked this property because it said could accommodate our size of family and was close to the beach. We were all very disappointed in the property when we arrived, and throughout our stay. For the cost of staying here, we expected more. The first thing we noticed were the various stains on the carpet throughout the house which were awful. Next, we noticed there was a cleaning product on the stovetop that was never wiped up and that the trashcan outside was already full and wasn't going to be picked up for another week. Throughout the stay we experienced that the kitchen sink leaked underneath, the main house coffee maker didn't work, a lot of the dishes in the cabinet were dirty when we went to use them, the home provided boogie boards one of which was broken, there was mouse feces in the garage, the upstairs shower in the main house didn't drain well and the toilet constantly ran, the guest house toilet had to be flushed several times to go down, and so on... The sell for us on the house was how many people it could accommodate, yet they gave us 2 paper towel rolls for a 5-day trip for 10. We didn't feel like we were set up for success. I felt the need to leave this honest review in hopes of the management company improving the cleanliness of accommodations of the home for future persons.

Had we been notified, we would have gladly sent our housekeeping team over to address some of the issues you encountered. We have sent your comments to our local property team for review, and would like to share that the carpets are scheduled for a deep clean, and several work orders have been made to address the sink, shower drain, and toilet. We value your booking, and do hope we have the opportunity to provide you with a better rental experience in the future.

I have stayed in MANY beautiful beach rentals over the past decade. Here is what makes this place special:1) It feels like HOME. It is a beautiful property. Some things need a little updating but even these things are part of the inherent charm.2) This place is SPACIOUS while still being comfy. The rooms are large and it was awesome to have our family in the main house and a friend in the apartment above the garage. Everyone had their own private space yet everything connected.3) There is an incredible VIEW of the ocean from the upstairs bedroom/deck. The LOCATION is perfect. You can walk to the onsite restaurant for morning crepes and cappuccino, and take a stroll on the beach a mere minute from the charming front porch.4) This home has everything: a huge kitchen, a large central dining area perfect for family board games, a big t.v. in the living area, plenty of space to relax. In a word, this place is SPECIAL.
