The Space:
If you are a fan of traditional Japanese atmosphere and old town culture, Tateishi is the best place for you to stay.
There are many traditional Izakayas (small bars) and small restaurants that have survived since the end of World War II, and the strong Showa style and high standard of local residents will make you fall in love with this place.
Although there are many Izakayas here, there is absolutely no need to worry about bad pornography places. This is a beautiful place that is simple and fun.
When you are tired after a long day of travel, why not pick a small Izakaya to have a skewer of yakitori or oden, a glass of draft beer and let the warm atmosphere of the small town revive you?

The apartment was great, clean, and well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet and seemed to be working class families. Plenty of places to eat and shop for groceries. A bit far from some of the major attractions but if you can deal with 20 extra minutes on the train its well worth it.
It was snug for 3 sturdy Canadians, but we had everything we needed, the place was cute, clean, well laid out and very well located. So close to the train, we could pop out for dinner or to see the Skytree (do not miss! Check out the view from both levels!) so easily. Helpful hosts here!

Me and my friend stayed for about a week. It was a really nice town and access to the airport and Tokyo was easy with the train station so close. The check in process was easy, but when I requested and was granted a later check out, the automatic locks were changed and I was locked out with my bags inside. We almost missed it fought but the cleaner opened it for us. The washing machine was nice but It took forever for clothes to dry because of the humidity
