Come enjoy a beautiful and spacious 4000 square foot, seven bedroom, three bath home in the beautiful community of Tahoe Donner, along with all the activities the Truckee area is famous for. If you don't know about Tahoe Donner, its the largest homeowners association in the United States with a $30 million dollar annual budget and owns its own downhill ski area, a world class cross country ski area, a golf course and driving range, a marina and beach on Donner Lake, as well as clubhouses, pools, hot tubs, workout rooms, exercise equipment, two restaurants, and a deli/food store, all of which is accessible to guests.
Our home is located on a level lot with plenty of sun and has a large garage and 10 car driveway. Enjoy the great room, filled with huge windows and natural light, vaulted pine ceilings and a river rock natural gas fireplace. Relax in the large living area and enjoy the giant 86 inch TV with every channel imaginable including YouTubeTV (ABC/CBS/NBC/ESPN/CNN/most cable channels), Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max. There are five additional 55" TV's throughout the house. All have the same streaming TV packages. The house has a 400 mbps Internet connection and mesh WiFi, enough to stream multiple channels of Netflix and anything else you can think of simultaneously. Unlimited local and US long distance calling is provided via a VoIP phone.
This is a smart home, and its equipped with Amazon's Echo (Alexa) in the Great Room and Dots/Shows in all of the bedrooms. If you say "Alexa, what's the weather outside", she will answer you. You can request all kinds of music from it - just ask her. Rather than figuring out the alarm, just say "Alexa, set an alarm for 8:15 am". I can turn the outdoor lights on and off with home automation, as well as turn on the heat before you arrive so everything is nice and toasty when you get there!
The house is protected by a whole house generator that automatically kicks on if the power goes out. Its fueled with Natural Gas so it never runs out. Don't worry about being stranded in a blizzard or other epic event - you will be warm and cozy no matter what.
The large open kitchen has granite countertops, a giant island with bar seating for four+, and all the cooking accessories that you will need including: giant microwave, four slice toaster (fits bagels), infrared toaster oven, KitchenAid mixing stand, rice cooker, Keurig single cup coffee maker, Mr. Coffee 12 cup, and a separate hot water maker. The gas cooktop has a two burner griddle that makes the best pancakes, french toast, and grilled cheese sandwiches. We now have two full size stainless steel refrigerators in the kitchen. The first is quite large, has side-by-side doors with an easy in/out door embedded inside the door, and an external ice and water dispenser. The second refrigerator is meant for overflow, drinks, large trays, and doubles our fridge capacity. We recently added a bulk ice maker for filling coolers. There is a brand new super quiet Bosch dishwasher. For the sous chef in you, there is a second sink in the island with a disposal - very convenient for chopping everything up. A large dining table seats ten comfortably, 4+ can fit at the bar, and 4 more at the pub table. There is also a 6' folding table and chairs that can be brought out for another 6-8 dining seats, depending on how you want to lay things out.
Out the sliding glass doors you'll find an expansive back deck. There is a natural gas fire pit for keeping warm and making smores under the starlit sky, as well as a Weber natural gas grill for steaks and burgers. There is an enormous 14' long outdoor "King Arthur" dining table made from recycled redwood that seats 16+ people comfortably. Below the deck is an extra large luxury hot tub where eight people can relax and soak together while recounting the days exploits.
We have lots of big summer toys available - 2 kayaks, 3 standup paddle boards, roof mount straps and foam protectors, 7 bikes, beach sand toys, squirt guns, tennis rackets, croquet, cornhole, a wagon for carrying everything, and lots more.
In the winter we have a variety of sleds and snow discs, snow shoes, as well as lots of shovels for building snow forts. We have even built a luge/bobsled run during one epic winter that went about 150'.
On the main level, you will find the large master bedroom #1 with vaulted pine ceilings, king bed, access to the back deck, a master bathroom with an oversized shower and a separate jetted tub, twin sinks, and a spacious walk in closet with two luggage stands.
Next to the master bedroom there is another bedroom #2 with a queen bed in it. We often set this up as an office when every bedroom is not needed. If you set it up this way, we have a 42" monitor and printer available, just bring your HDMI or DisplayPort/Thunderbolt laptop. There is also a 32" monitor in the cubby/desk in the kitchen.
Downstairs there is an oversized second master bedroom #3 with a king size log bed, another bedroom #4 with a Queen bed, and the playroom/bunkroom/bedroom #5 has a twin over full log bunk bed as well as a twin bed along with two large couches, a TV and a game area.
Above everything is the kids loft bunkroom/playroom/bedroom #6 which has been fully enclosed with soundproof bank glass. It has a twin over full log bunk bed as well as two more twin beds.
There is also a bonus room located on the upper level with a queen bed - note that the ceiling height is a bit short, having a sloped ceiling that starts out at 7' on one side and descends gently to about 3' on the far side. The room is decent sized at about 13' wide but a bit narrow at 7'. As a 7th bedroom with full privacy, its wonderful.
Two of the bedrooms (those with bunk beds) are generally intended as playrooms for the kids and both have TV's, XBox One's, books, games, and toys. The downstairs bunkroom/playroom has two full sized couches for TV watching and XBox action, and a big ottoman for gathering around and game playing. The upstairs bunkroom/playroom has a TV and XBox One. Both rooms are great spaces for the kids to do their own thing.
The bed layout is: Master - King - very large bedroom 2nd Master downstairs - King - another very large bedroom Queen bedroom downstairs Queen bedroom on main level (a little on the small side) Attic room with a queen bed on upper level (lowered ceiling) Downstairs bunkroom / playroom - twin over full bunkbed; twin bed; 2 couches; ottoman - very large room Loft / bunkroom / playroom - twin over full bunkbed; 2 twin beds - very large room
All of the very large rooms can easily fit multiple air mattresses if necessary.
There is a small format combination foosball, air hockey, ping pong, and pool table in the garage.
This is a luxury rental and we try to take care of everything possible. Bed linens and bath towels are provided. Toilet paper is included and it's the real thing, not the awful commercial stuff. Paper towels, napkins, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, ziploc bags in three different sizes, trash bags, Pantene shampoo and conditioner, bath wash, hand soap, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, condiments, spices, a variety of Keurig K-Cup coffee flavors, hot chocolate, Krusteaz pancake mix, maple syrup, and more are all provided - there is no reason to fill your car with any of these bulky items. We try to keep the house stocked for you just like home. You will probably find that this is the best stocked rental house you have ever gone to.
If there is no same-day renter before or after you, we also offer early check-in and late check-out too – that way you can be out and active all day at the end of your trip and still come back to the house. We have never liked how hotels give you an extra hour for late checkout - we give you the rest of the day when possible.

This was a great house for our family holiday gathering! The home was well equipped, spacious and clean. The hosts were extremely nice and great with communication. Great place to for large groups.
The house had everything! We used the kitchen for big group dinners and the TV room for movie nights, and there was just so much space for everyone! It was also in a great location - great driving distance to the lake!
Anne and Scott were wonderful hosts! We really enjoyed our stay. The house accommodated our entire group comfortably, and the kitchen was very well stocked. There are the cutest family friendly touches throughout. The kids loved the little closet nook that connects two rooms and has cuddly stuffies inside. The playroom was also an unexpected added bonus. They have a ton of sleds that we utilized and made a sledding hill in the backyard. The hot tub was wonderful to relax in and where it’s located we could still utilize even with the winter storm that preceded our visit. We hope to stay here year after year for our annual snow trip. Thank you!
House was fantastic with many rooms and plenty of beds to choose from. Owners were extremely professional and easy to work with. We truly loved our stay and look forward to our next visit!
Large, beautiful home, fully equipped with everything you need and comfortable beds for our entire family. Lovely neighborhood and very good communication before, during and after our stay.
Beautiful cabin and location. Very spacious for a large group & well equipped. Every member of our group enjoyed the property and would recommend to friends & family.
We have a large group, 6 families, and this house was definitely accommodating for all of us. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need and then some. Location is amazing! Will definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay at the property. It was very clean had everything we needed and the property owners were extremely responsive. I highly recommend.
We had the best time at the house. It was so clean, open, and fit us all very comfortably. Anne and Scott were very easy to communicate with and made the whole stay very enjoyable. Wish we could have stayed longer!
We had an awesome stay here for a ski trip. The house was perfect for large groups, with large sofas, roomy hot tub, and a nice long dining table. There was plenty of room for everyone and all the cars we had. The best part was their flexible check in and check out policy. I would definitely come back again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The proximity to Tahoe, the Truckee river and Northstar drew us in. We had a group of 12 and everyone had their own individual bed. Great amenities and great for groups. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again in the future. Thanks for hosting!
Scott and Anne were wonderful hosts! I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin in Truckee! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The space had such a cozy, welcoming vibe, making it feel like home the second we arrived. The cabin is beautifully designed, with rustic charm and modern touches that really enhanced the experience. I can really appreciate that Scott and Anne are veritable techies. There is no lack of charging cables anywhere (including a Tesla Charger in the garage). The amenities were top-notch — everything we needed was there, from a fully stocked kitchen to plush towels and warm beds. Didn't get to try the hot-tub or the guest passes to the nearby lodge, but it does look good from the outside.I truly can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here, and I would absolutely love to stay again in the future! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-equipped getaway.
Great location and home! Well stocked, comfortable, great outdoor deck. Perfect for our family. We had a few houses to accommodate our group of 29, but this was the house we used for family dinners with everyone and it was very comfortable! Highly recommend! Owners (Anne) communicated very well throughout the process!
