About this property
Dog Friendly 3 bedroom Lake House. Fenced Yard
Welcome to lake country, a true place to unwind situated just 25 minutes from Halifax, 25 minutes from the Annapolis Valley, and 20 minutes from Ski Martock.
In the summer months, experience loon calls and endless days on the warm-water lake. In autumn, the sunsets from your backyard will take your breath away. In winter, the sun may set earlier but that’s when stars come alive. (Is that Mars?) In spring, well, the landscaped perennial garden will speak for itself. The space This spacious 1,800 square feet vacation getaway spread over two levels can accommodate six people in three bedrooms—one large loft-style master bedroom with an ensuite on the upper level, one queen room on the main level with an adjacent three-piece bathroom. There’s also one kids room with two beds, a skylight, children’s books, toys and monkey bars (yes, monkey bars). No kids? Close the kids door and the house is all yours. You'll have a bed for your furry family member, too.
The open plan main floor consists of a large south-west facing living room with a wall of windows, a cozy reading nook with a wood burning fireplace, a stylish dining room and a fully stocked kitchen with walk-out access to the large two-tiered deck and a fully fenced in backyard.
Dividing the main floor living room you’ll find the main floor three piece bathroom with decorative tiles, wood accents, modern fixtures and a stand up shower. Under the oak staircase is what we call ‘the hobbit closet’ where you’ll find cozy blankets, games, books, and even painting supplies to bring out your inner artist.
The house doesn’t come without quirks, like the extra large pink bathtub in the master ensuite. But even so, you’ll find the water pressure in its shower just to your liking.
We hope you feel at home! Guest access The entire main house and lake-front property is available for you to use. You can access the home 24/7 during your stay. Other things to note The driveway has parking for 4 vehicles. There is no additional street parking, as the road to the property is a one-way.
The property has two structures, and the main house and property is all yours. The separate garage is private.
The house is in a small lakeside community, and we do have neighbours on either side.
There is no laundry on-site but we are happy to arrange laundering.
We are pet friendly with fenced in yard. Let us know if your pup has any allergies (for his tasty treats).
We look forward to you staying with us!

Thank you, Karen. Yes it is beautiful here in the Autumn too. There is another lovely sunset forming as I type this and the trees have yet to show off all their colours. All the Best !
Beautifully maintained cottage like home with wonderful evening sunsets. Within easy distance of Sackville and a comfortable trip into Halifax for day trips. Fenced yard was perfect for young children and large dog. Very clean, and helpful hosts. Absolutely recommend. Hoping to make this an annual visit.

Thank you for your kind words Jared. We would love to have you folks back again - anytime you can. Cheers !
Fantastic spot and my dogs LOVED the huge fully fenced yard! The house was extremely well-equipped with everything a person could need. Amazing view, peaceful spot, cozy wood stove, comfy couch and chair for lounging. Nearby, we explored the trails at Bell Park (a 2 minute drive away) and the Mount Uniake Estate Museum just a few minutes more up the road. The little country "corner grocery store" ,a 5 minute walk up the street (Eddy's Variety), quite literally has everything!Hoping our next visit brings sunshine!!
This was an amazing property for our 3 week stay in Nova Scotia. Central location for day trips. Secure fencing for our 2 rescue dogs who were on their first trip since adoption. Lovely home, lovely grounds, lovely owner. We will be back!

The property is clean, well appointed and the most serene setting. A short drive from Halifax, yet you feel like you are a world away from everything. The wood stove adds a beautiful layer of coziness. I will stay here again, no question.

Thank you, Tanya. Those are two good reasons why we love it here too. Cheers !
We stayed for a week visiting family. The location was convenient and the views of the lake were amazing. A wonderful bonus was the adorable chocolate lab next door named Gimli. He was very friendly and came to visit occasionally. Overall it was great and my extended family encouraged me to rent here each visit so they could come over to visit.

Hi Kevin, We are glad to know you folks enjoyed your time while you were here and would certainly look forward to hosting you again the next time you plan to be in the area.
We arrived at the Lucky Loon after an afternoon of driving back roads and seeing the rural beauty of Nova Scotia. It was a beautiful setting, right on the lake with wonderful hiking trails nearby at your disposal. The house was cozy and well-appointed for all of your cooking and relaxing requirements. Halifax was within easy driving reach as well as a longer trip to the beautiful town of Lunenberg. Evenings were special, too, as we heard the howl of a coyote and the cry of a loon on the lake. It was so peaceful there that we were sad to leave!

Glad to hear you folks enjoyed your time during your visit here. We love it here for all the reasons you mentioned too. Cheers !
EVERYTHING about this rental is positive and goes above and beyond. We were there during Hurricane Lee and they made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and we were. They go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. The house is beautiful, spotless, nicely decorated, comfortable furnishings, nice yard for the pooch. My dog enjoyed the wide open living area where he could play ball while it was whipping up wind and rain outside. It's a beautiful lake, quiet area. We will go back here on our next trip.
