Communicating with guest services was good, when I requested something needed, it was brought promptly. Room had an okay feel, smells were not pleasant and sleeping beds weren't what was on the vrbo website. Not the worst stay, but needs more accurate information on room accommodations. Thank you.

Amazed by the entire stay. From the check in to the managment and accommodations. The loft was clean, quiet and well equipped. Perfect space for a couple retreat, small family, or even a photoshoot! I stayed the night and had a small dinner party. If there was any issue or question no one hessitated to help out.

The loft is nice and spacious. There are things provided. The host is very nice and will not hesitate to help if something comes up. The area around it is a bit sketchy, but it’s okay. It’s close to downtown Detroit so it’s very easy to explore.
Clean and spacious. Absolutely no issues with anything. Far enough out of the city for it to be relatively quiet. Close enough to find a bite to eat without too much work. Grubhubs address takes them away from the buildings though. Use the actual building name so they know. Cool pad to crash at with your buddies though.

As a priority guest, your complaint was escalated to our Professional Management Service provider for review. Please note, all message threads and correspondences with your personal host, security and on-duty manager were thoroughly documented. Per the investigation results, we will gladly provide you with documentation of the following: 1) All dishonest information you provided during your booking, 2) A copy of your signature acknowledging the 11 complaints made against you and your guests by tenants, in which your party disturbed up until 6:37am, 3) Photos provided to you, via security, of you personally allowing access to unlisted guests into the building up until 6:53am.
To avoid causing you any financial inconvenience, we were courteous to not charge you any additional fees. We respect your decision to never book with us again.
The check in lady was very hard to deal with she charged for everything she told my friend days later of somthing missing and then charged her credit card mind u this is after there clean up people have come in worst experience I’ve had bookkng

The place is so spacious, and it's decorated in my favorite colors. The bed could be more comfortable, but that's my only complaint about the space itself. I loved that there were extra blankets available and that the hosts had left some chocolate and bottled water in addition to a few snacks. The building was quiet and really cool if you enjoy the loft aesthetic like we do. Easy to get in and out, and loved the comprehensive info written on the chalkboard inside.
I do want to let all potential renters know that we were not advised about a few very important check-in requirements, which led to some confusion. (If someone texts you to ask for your ID and credit card number, they are not a scammer like you may think. It's really the property management company!)

The location and loft were both good. The space was clean and well equipped.Check in was confusing and badly organized. I booked on the VRBO app, knowing that Redawning was the host. On the day off check in I received a call from Idlewild Estate Management, a company i had never heard of, asking who i made the booking with. I was concerned to receive such a call. Idlewild stated that they needed a photo of my ID. If Idlewild were indeed acting on behalf of the host why did they not know the booking company? Who had given Idlewild my number?I contacted the "host" via the VRBO app. They confirmed that Idlewild was "property management" and needed my ID. I provided a copy of my ID. I then got a message from Idlewild saying they had been able to confirm that I was a "legitimate" renter.I understand that the property management might need my ID but this should have been explained, by the host, well in advance. I should not have receieved a call just hours before check in from a company I had never heard of.

Property owner very helpful, Red Awning not so much.
Conflicting information on listing regarding pet policy. Wrong access code given. Got into it with management company staff because they couldn't 'hear' me entering the access code. Initially had to use stairs because elevator wasn't operating. Garbage in stairwell. Quiet policy not necessarily adhered to. Fortunately, met the owner of the unit who was very helpful explaining/showing how the elevator worked, as well as getting us into the unit. Management company accused us of not disclosing that we were traveling with pets, and then charged a penalty as a result. Property owner very helpful, management company not so much.

I can't speak to the inside of the property; we didn't get out of the car. We did not feel safe parking in front of the building, leaving my family in the car, or taking them inside. There were 3 people hanging outside the front door smoking, drinking from bagged beverages, and staring at us like we were the last steak on the buffet. I'd say if you have a running car made within the last 20 years, inflated tires, and all its parts, you will stand out too. The parking lot had 9 cars - 6 of which had at least one flat tire most had all four flat and multiple missing parts like they were stripped. High fences, and barbwire everywhere, with some boarded windows, some missing windows, and some paper over windows on this building (Lafayette Lofts). There are four high rise condos between this building and the river so not sure where the river views picture came from (maybe one of those buildings). VRBO recommends you contact Red Awning for issues, Red Awning sends you to the Host, the Host sends you to VRBO, etc. an endless cycle of excuses without any resolution. We were unable to get a refund or alternate accommodations, we still went elsewhere. It reminded me of the movie Coming to America when Semmi redoes his apartment. The single pane windows and permanent window AC units can't be efficient insulators. IF the area is improving, I'd say this would be a great place in 10-15 years, but it appears to be the first renovations currently. Save your money and time.

We find it very disturbing when adults disregard their expectation of maturity and take the time to post a review as dishonest and despicable as yours. There are no high-rise condos in the area, stripped cars, nor barbwire fences. Please note, in most areas barbwire fences are not allowed in residential housing districts; this is public knowledge and attests to the credibility of your statement. We have a reputation of excellent customer service, 24/7 onsite security, and we're overly accommodating to assure each guest is made a priority. It's dishonest, vindictive guests like you who make it bad, not only for other guests, but the short-term rental industry as a whole. Our management team personally reviewed your recorded call. During that call you reported having trouble hitching a ride and inquired of the latest time in which you could check in. At that time the phone specialist informed you that we offer transportation services for guests, asked how many people were traveling with you and informed you of the rates. The recording clearly captures you stating you were traveling alone; you were wasted and you did not have any funds to pay for a ride so you were going to hitch one. Yet you find it perfectly normal to make false statements accusing innocent people of looking to possibly harm you. As well as referencing to your family feeling unsafe, along with you also now having a vehicle. It's beyond belief that a male adult, whom claims to have a family, would take the time to make such a heinous review. It's very telling of your privileged mentality, dishonest nature and character as a person.
