So much is needing to be done to this place to make it mold free, bug free, flooring acceptable and clean. We did not have a good experience, stayed one night and left immediately in morning. Eeks.

Small but cozy

I wasn't expecting it to be in a basement, and it's a bit of a tight fit down there, but overall was cozy and worked for what I needed! If you're looking for a place to hang out at during the day, it's dark and small. But if you're looking for a place to just sleep and get ready in the morning, it works perfect! That's all I needed was a night time place to rest, so it was great for my needs!

We understand the basement layout can feel tight and dark, and that is why we have taken steps to add great lighting as well as new interior design. The room was clean, but the odor was unbearable. The blanket was dirty and dingy. The only time we spent in the room was to sleep so it was a good price, but you might want to consider changing it the carpet for the smell

Flooded and moldy

The basement apartment was flooded and stank of mildew. We had to vacate for health reasons. The owner has never contacted us about this. We demand a complete refund

From the owner: " Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced in April 2025. The basement apartment was flooded and had a strong mildew odor, which forced us to vacate for health reasons. The owner has never been unresponsive; in fact, she responded immediately when alerted that the flooding was caused by an error on the part of the City of Fairbanks, which affected many homes in the area. Since then, the flooding problem has been extensively remedied, and we have hired a more responsive property management team to ensure better communication and care. While a refund was demanded at the time, it was unnecessary, as this would be a no-hassle refund situation. Additionally, the issues have now been fully resolved. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we endeavor to provide safe, comfortable accommodations, and remain committed to ongoing improvements."

Our Stay in Fairbanks

We opened the front door to a sign asking us to please remove our shoes to keep the carpet as clean as possible. So I did and right away felt chunks of dirt under my feet. It was apparent no vacuum was used on these floors before we arrived. The floor in the bathroom and kitchen had dirt and dead bugs along the corners and edges of the wall and floor. The center of the room might have been swept before we arrived, but definitely not the perimeter. We ran to Walmart and bought disinfecting wipes and processed to wipe down all the counter tops, the stove, the refrigerator, as well as the sinks in the kitchen and bathroom, and the floors. We expected to eat most meals in the apartment, but we could only find 3 different sizes of fry pans and 1 small pot to cook with, we changed our plans, but we knew we would eat breakfast in the place, so we washed the dishes we thought we would use for those meals and planned accordingly. The bathroom door had a difficult time closing because the top corner needed to be trimmed off or maybe the hinges tighten. But we figured if we pulled the door shut with the doorknob, it would catch. After pulling it shut that way a few times the door handle on the inside of the bathroom broke off. If we pulled it completely tight, we could potentially lock ourselves in the bathroom, so we stuffed the catch that latches the door when shut with aluminum foil and pulled it shut with the clothes hook on the door for the remainder of our stay.
