Our stay was for 5 days & it was lovely. It was a quiet spot, where we were able to take our dog. Just a short walk to Lake Eildon and tried some fishing.House was spacious, had everything that we needed, was clean & plenty of room outside.

We loved our stay at Howqua house. So comfy cosy. Well equipped kitchen. Toasty fireplace. Beautiful surrounds. The bird life was magnificent and beds were suuuper comfy. Thank you for having us.

Howqua House was wonderfully cozy and clean. Really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen had all the necessities. The fireplace is great in the winter, and the outside deck/proximity to the lake would be perfect for the warmer months.

Great spot, worked well for our young family, with an outdoor mud kitchen and kids toys available. Lovely coffee and tea range, and a supply of fire wood for the fire to keep us warm on the cooler days. Will come back again!

Very well presented and cute small house in a great location. Wonderful option for us and our dogs for a great stay. Very friendly and helpful host. Be aware if bringing a pet that there are some gaps in the fence, not an issue for us.

Warm and cosy little house

My family enjoyed our stay at the Howqua House. We especially like the idea of the fireplace and we enjoyed using it. It is clean and the communication with the owner was prompt.We are looking forward to coming back to this house again.

House is set in a beautiful location owner was very helpful when required.

Stayed for business and leisure house had all the facilities needed close walk to water and boat ramp. Small takeaway shop from the caravan park 5 mins drive up the road. Overall was excellent

Amazing home. Amazing view. Amazing host!

Great view of the lake at the front. Near a little town Mansfield where you can get everything and easily access the bus to Mount Buller. The house is perfect for a family getaway. Lizzy is very helpful and informative. We strongly recommend this home to anyone who wants a family getaway or to go the snow.

Very clean and Convenient location!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Place was located in a fantastic position right near the water, local caravan park for petrol and short drive to shops. Really you didn’t need anything anyway. The house had everything!!! Thank you !!!

Howqua House in in a fantastic location, has everything you could ever want (including Yorkshire tea, which made my little northern english heart sing ).Lovely an warm with the fire which was a blessing on cold days. I was a little worried about the bedrooms being cold after reading another review but I needn't have been concerned as the duvets where lovely and warm.We had a small issue when the electric tripped, but this was swiftly (within 30mins) sorted by the host. Great base for exploring the area, Jamieson brewery being a must and also for visiting the snow.As a family we look forward to staying again in the future and spending some time with our bird daily visitors.

An amazing , secluded place.

Liz was extremely accommodating, quick to respond to our queries. The whole process from start to end was easy to follow.The house was as describe, it was roomy, clean, comfortable beds, had everything we needed, home away from home. Location amazing, secluded, quiet place, no hustle and bustle. If you like peace and quiet next to water, boating or fishing it is a perfect location. Recommendation to purchase your basic needs ie..milk, bread, any food needed when you drive through Mansfield save you the trip back.

Wonderful dog friendly stay.

We had a wonderful 4 nights here at Lizzy’s place. The house is exactly as described and pictured. The fire place was super clean and stacked with wood and the heaters in each room kept the place toasty warm. The beds were comfy and the washing machine handy. There is a lovely huge verandah which was visited by many different birds each day including Satin Bower Birds, King Parrots and Cockatoos. Gorgeous area, can walk to the lake, easy drive to The Jamieson Brewery for a fab meal, 25 mins to Mansfield for shopping etc, the Delatite winery is a must visit place too. We also found it a reasonable distance to drive up to Mount Buller. It was an easy place to stay and we will definitely return.

Short Stay in Howqua

We loved our stay and location. All the facilities were as expected and excellent for what we wanted. It was very cold at night, and the only downside was trying to keep heat in the bedrooms and bathroom/laundry, however we would stay again just in the warmer months. The kitchen utensils could have been cleaned better, and we couldn't use the non-stick fry pans because they were badly scratched and flaking the non-stick surface. On a positive there was everything else in the kitchen we needed to comfortably cook meals.
