This was the best backyard and beach area we have experienced through the years of staying at different homes on the island. The only complaint is that we only had one bathroom for the 6 of us. There is no air conditioning but there are plenty of windows and ceiling fans to keep it comfortable. All in all a nice and enjoyable experience. We plan to return.
Great Location! Excellent Beach, with beautiful views from the lovely Adirondack chairs! Kitchen had everything you need, and a great working outdoor grill. Lots of games, movies for the kids. Kayak was used every day! Campfire pit was excellent too!
Great communication with Host! Would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful peaceful view
Beautiful view, but was work being done inside the cottage that hasn't been completed in the kitchen/bathroom, Which it was pretty dusty in the cottage,Which i have allergies to dust. There were some broken items like 1 of the lounge chairs down at the beach,The BBQ handle was broke and very dirty and nothing to clean it with The sink plug didn't work right. There was a rip in the patio door screens and front door screen, all closets in the bedrooms beside 1 were unlocked for guest to hang clothing up So we used a different room then what we slept in to hang our clothes upBrought lots of clothing and my husband and 2 closets would of been much more accommodating The 1 bike tire was low,so we didnt use them .But over all the cottage is beautiful and the beach is right there and very beautiful private peaceful

Crystal, although we feel your review is unwarranted, I would like to respond.
This is a shared home, it is very common to secure owners items in locked closets, as I too like to enjoy my property. Dressers in each room are supplied in addition to the open closet.
The bbq brush is under the bbq. Additionally, I was not aware of the broken handle. In the future, please contact me with concerns so that I can have things fixed for your stay. My number is supplied to guests for concerns during their stay.
We discussed bikes prior to your arrival, I explained that bikes are provided as a bonus, but not maintained. this courtesy comes with the need to fill your own tire, with the provided pump. Serious bikers are referred to The Bike Rental.
I’m sorry that a guest left one of the beach chairs broken. I hope you were able to make use of one of the other 7 chairs.
The incomplete work you mention, would be referring to grout on backsplash and trim above the shower. Being on a remote island, contractors and contract work are often delayed. These projects posed no impact on cottage usability, thus I did not cancel any guest looking forward to their vacation.
The property was thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival. Unfortunately, with dirt roads and west winds, dust can settle quickly. We strive for a regimented cleaning routine between guests.
Renters are encouraged to contact me during their stay if anything is broken and needs to be replaced.

It is a very cute cabin and a wonderful location with a great beach and privacy, but the overall cleanliness and upkeep is a bit lacking. I love all the windows, but they were filthy.... . The description of what to bring should be clearer: Linens is to include sheets and towels and toiletries apparently must include toilet paper. That was a bit of a surprise. Having no WIFI or cell reception left us unable to contact the owner while we were there.. But all and all we made due and had a good time.

Thank you for the review. Unfortunately, the cell phone service is out of my control, and getting wifi on an island in the middle of the lake has been challenging. We are hoping the fiber optic comes soon! As the check in documents mention, this is a self serve cottage and you are required to bring everything with you, but I will be sure to update for future guests for more clarity in the future. As for the windows, they are the original from when the cottage was built and are being replaced next year. We hope you will be back to see them.
Pictures and description in the listing do not do this property justice!
Walking into the great room with the wall of windows looking out to the lake took our breath away! The entire property was clean and well kept...like being at a resort.
Touring the sleeping areas was equally impressive. With 5 queen sized beds, our party of 6 was more than comfortable.
We arrived on a VERY hot day. Within minutes of turning on the massive ceiling fans throughout the cottage, it cooled off exponentially to the point that my mom put a light sweater on 😊
I tend to pack everything except the kitchen sink when renting a cottage because "fully equipped" usually does not include everything needed for a week with a family. Well I really over packed for this stay because i didn't need to dive into my own supplies at all.
What we did need to bring was bedding, towels, toilet paper, toiletries, all our food including spices, condiments, etc.
Communicating with the property owner was great! She responded immediately to any questions I had before our arrival.
Things to note:
▪︎There is no wi-fi and cellular reception is spotty. We didn't mind this, since we went to the island to unplug. I had 3 teenagers with me and they didn't mind at all since there was enough to do to keep them busy...swimming, games, bike rides (yes there are 2 bikes onsite).
▪︎There is a kayak, but didn't find lifejackets. Next time i will bring our own.
Will definitely be booking this location again!
