Explore Portland like a local from this super comfy, totally updated home base in one of our most vibrant neighborhoods. The house works well for a group of 4-8 people: three couples or two couples with kids or one extended family. There's a queen bedroom and full bath on the main floor and a king master suite and another queen bed in a nursery on the second floor. The finished basement includes laundry, a large open area, and and additional bedroom which can be used for an extra fee.
A chef's kitchen makes it easy to take advantage of New Seasons, our beautifully stocked local supermarket, just one block away. But truth be told, you probably won't eat in much, since you'll be at the epicenter of the Northeast Portland food scene, featuring nationally acclaimed restaurants, bars and coffee.
The house is a 15-20 minute drive from downtown and 15 minutes from the airport, 1-3 blocks from 4 major bus routes and 1.5 miles from Interstate 84 and I-5.

Such a cute and very clean and comfortable home in a good neighborhood convenient to all the best Portland has to offer. Walking distance to great shops and bars / restaurants and easy drive to all areas of the city.
We loved the fun vibe of Ginger's home. It is well located and within walking distance, in every direction, of great food, coffee, groceries and shops/galleries. Ginger is very responsive and thoughtful.

Great house - fully met expectation
I've rented quite a few houses and have never been as satisfied with my lodgings. The house was very attractive and nicely furnished. Ginger was great to work with. I would definitely stay again.
Clean, spacious and well equipped property in the Arts District. Backyard is enclosed by greenery and provided a great spot for lunch or just relaxing. The house itself has plenty of room and is very comfortable.
My husband, sister and brother-in-law stayed here over the new year's weekend and it was great! The house is charming, the location is great, and the owners were responsive to our requests. Parking was easy, and the fireplace is lovely! Would definitely stay here again. The only issue is that the downstairs bathroom needs some work (floors, shower), but overall, we really enjoyed staying here.
Thoroughly enjoyed the property, particularly the patio. Our family of five plus one grandparent fit perfectly. Wonderful to have a first floor bathroom right next to my Mom’s room. The near by grocery store was a huge plus. Highly recommend.
The home was wonderful! So cute and clean and in a great location. Loved relaxing out back watching a hummingbird at the butterfly bush after a long day of hiking at Mount Hood, Mount Rainier and Multnomah Falls. Nice grocery store was so convenient. My husband liked the pillows so much he took a photo of the tag to order our own!
Great house for our family visit to Portland. The Alberts Arts District is a good place to stay in Portland. This property is very clean. Nice Kitchen and amenities. Street parking in Portland can be difficult but the spot in front of the house was always available! Walkable to restaurants, shops and the market.
The property is within walking distance of the grocery store, Walgreens, bars, and restaurants. Very clean and spacious home, with comfortable beds. The master bath upstairs has the best shower!!, There is a main bath on the main floor.
Cozy and private deck and patio in the back yard. We will stay again! Great Place
This was such a great place to stay for the 5 of us....plenty of spaces to sit around and chat, both inside and out ...and very comfy beds and what a great neighborhood! Quiet! Great walking with more great plants and roses than I have seen in a long time....so close to many bakeries, restaurants, coffee shops galleries etc. I would be thrilled to stay here again. The hosts were fabulous!
Food and a store steps away. Lots of great food within a short distance. Airport close.
Tons of space inside, and a nice quiet backyard as well. Works well in bad weather or good if you want to hang around your "home".
The hostess was helpful and responsive.
Only downsides: The downstairs shower is in a claw tub, so you are surrounded by shower curtains very closely (upstairs shower and bath are awesome).
This was our second time staying at this lovely house. The neighborhood is wonderful with easy access to everywhere we needed to be. The owner was extremely responsive and came out immediately to address both a clogged bathtub drain and to bring us a brand new iron and ironing board when we couldn't locate one. This home is clean and fully equipped with everything you need. It also has a lovely and quiet backyard and front porch. We will be back again and are already looking forward to it.
Rented this house for a family get together. We had 5 staying in the house and about 5 more come over for a big meal and the house was nearly perfect. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in and well stocked with nearly all the utensils we needed. The bedrooms were comfortable, although the guest staying in the second bedroom upstairs reported that the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. Really great having New Seasons 1 block away, we went there approximately 3 times a day! Would recommend this house to anyone!
Our family stayed here for a couple months while our house is under construction. We loved it. Great for families... the rooms are huge, there's everything you need, and the location can't be beat. The host was super responsive and knew how to troubleshoot anything with a single text message. After a couple months, we had to move to another Vrbo because our construction is taking forever, and this place was booked (obviously). We're all saying how much we miss Ginger's place. Thanks for a great couple months! ❤️✨

Family Wedding
Our family was gathered to participate in a family wedding and this location worked out well for us. The house was comfortable; parking on the street was iffy, in that frequently we had to park down the street as the space in front of the house was being used by others. The only other issue was that the upstairs bathroom is in the main bedroom and the occupant of the 2nd bedroom upstairs had to interrupt those family members in order to use the shower or bathroom. The upstairs bathroom was very nice.
The owners were very responsive to issues.
Where do I start... This home and the hosts were both amazing, everything from the neighbourhood to the amenities were perfect. We had a newborn and a toddler and the home was beyond comfortable. At first we were hesitant being in that area but from day one, we felt safe. The New Seasons next door was a blessing and cooking at home was a joy. Both hosts were very responsive. So much to see and do walking distance. The images truly don't do the place justice. Did I mention the spa master bath with steam shower and tub? Overall, one of our most wonderful stays in a rental home ever. Thank you Kurt & Ginger for your home and hospitality.
What a lovely property- wish we could have had more time there. I was fortunate to stay in the gorgeous master suite, which was comfortable , well decorated, and spacious.
We were three couples, but I must say, from a couples perspective, this really is a better house for 2 couples. The master with en suite was fab, the brown bedroom on the main floor had an adjacent bathroom as well. The third bedroom is where splitting a house gets interesting. The room was tiny and tucked in right next to the master. The adorable wallpaper is peeling off the wall, and the bed is a bit lumpy. Bathroom access is on the main floor (clearly started in the listing but still not great.). Splitting a place can always be a bit touchy but I just can't recommend that room for a third couple. It would be good for a kid though.
I hope to come back to the house and make more use of that gorgeous kitchen- just not with that third couple.

Cozy and Charming
This home was perfect for our stay in Portland over the holidays. The home’s location is ideal. It is within walking distance to a grocery store, restaurants, and coffee shops. Unfortunately, we did not get to explore the area as much as we would have liked, as the weather was not very cooperative. We had a car, as we were driving back and forth to my sister’s house for the holidays, and street parking in front of the home was no problem at all. The front porch and yard looked fabulous, but it was too cold for us to use them.
The house itself has character, is charming and adorable, clean and nicely stocked without being overly cluttered with unnecessary items. The living space was perfect for our family of 4, and the kitchen was equipped with what was needed to make breakfast each day. There is one bedroom with a queen size bed on the first floor. There is not an attached bathroom for that bedroom, but there is a full bath with a tub shower right around the corner from that bedroom. The other two bedrooms are upstairs. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other is the master suite with a king size bed and a spacious bathroom with a stand alone tub and a large walk-in shower. The person who sleeps in the second bedroom upstairs does have to either use the master bath or the bathroom on the first floor. There is a washer and dryer in the basement, but they were not available when we used the home due to some plumbing issue that the owners were correcting. The second floor did get quite chilly in the evening, but the weather was unseasonably snowy, icy and very cold for Portland, so we completely understood.
Ginger was very timely in her communications with us. Overall, we had a wonderful stay in Portland. I would highly recommend this home and would certainly stay again.

About the host
Your host
I love to travel. As a freelance advertising professional, I feel fortunate to have the flexibility to roam, meet new people and explore different ways of life. Having the opportunity to get to know areas outside the usual tourist areas makes traveling more fun for me, and I imagine other people feel the same.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with this house because of its prime location and the great potential of the layout. Updating and making the house work for modern living was a fun series of creative projects for me and my husband. In the meantime, the neighborhood has become even more fun and interesting with each passing year.
What makes this property unique
Being able to pop over to the drugstore, the supermarket and the coffee shop in less than a minute is something that's hard to live without, once you've gotten used to it. In summertime, morning sun and evening shade in the backyard make it a lush and comfortable hangout for coffee, cocktails and dinner.
