Experience a getaway, workation, or micro adventure in our delightfully cosy 1950s cabin - nestled close to the river, walking and bike trails, and just a short stroll to town.

Unwind amongst stunning garden and mountain views. The spacious deck with BBQ and a family-sized table is perfect for a sun-kissed morning coffee and chat with the friendly locals - king parrots, rosellas, kookaburras ...

This peaceful, dog-friendly retreat (with 1.2m fencing all round, is accessible via a cement ramp (no steps) to the front door and offers ample off-street parking. It’s the ideal place to disconnect from the world for a few days or use as a base for exploring the breathtaking Upper Yarra Ranges.

Our wonderful guests have left glowing reviews, praising our comfy beds, family-friendly amenities, vintage charm and local adventures. At night, enjoy the warm glow of the combustion stove (firewood supplied) in the lounge, or brave the outdoors and toast a few marshmallows at the firepit.

Great location near the river and just a short stroll into town. Ideal for a short stay with all the amenities you need including a great wood fire which was very welcome on our rather chilly winter weekend. Property is also dog safe being fenced all around unlike many “dog friendly” places we looked at.

The accommodation was very comfortable and spotless. The place was very tastefully decorated and supply of cutlery and crockery and pantry was more than adequate. Leanne was very quick to reply to any of our queries.We will definitely be back.

Perfect location for the river

We had a fantastic stay at Idyllwylde. The property is very well presented and was perfect for both us and our dog who enjoyed the fenced in garden. Great location for both the river and Warburton - very quiet in the house despite the rest of town being very busy. Would stay again!

We had a brilliant stay over the long weekend enjoying the walks and bike trails in the area. The cabin is in a perfect location, short walking distance to the river and the town. It is beautifully appointed with everything you need and the garden is spectacular with rosellas, king parrots, kookaburras and the resident cocky, Cash. Our dog also loved exploring the garden. Leanne is a welcoming host making our stay really relaxed, even going the extra mile leaving out river tubes for our use during our stay (highly recommend river tubing). Highly recommend!

Very pretty Warburton house and garden

Idlewylde is a gorgeous little house and garden with everything you need for a comfortable stay in a quiet end of town, close to the river and a nice walk to town. The facilities were great and all clean and tidy, with thoughtful choccies and wine as a bonus welcome, would highly recommend the property to stay at,

Great time!

We had a wonderful time at Idyllwylde cabin. The place is very cosy, where you can relax and feel at home with comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Outside you are surrounded by trees and birds coming to say hello.

Mums and boys weekend

We had such a beautiful weekend away. The house was very cosy, and perfect size for family dinner. the kids loved feeding the birds and playing in the garden. The highlight of their trip was the skatepark next to Warburton. Highly recommended!!

As a Melbourne-based family, we purchased Idyllwyde as a place to renovate and enjoy. Turns out we also really enjoy hosting and sharing our hideaway with others. Our guests have all been lovely, organised, and respectful of the house.

Why they chose this property

It's just the perfect escape point - not too far from Melbourne. Warburton has its charms all year round, and you can be as busy or lazy as you want to be. We love the river, and being back in the country, with all the conveniences of town - like good coffee :)

What makes this property unique

Because we stay there as well, it's furnished and equipped the way we like it. So, cosy, vintage, good linen, crockery, appliances, comfortable beds. Easy to settle in, convenient to town, gorgeous views and entertaining birdlife. Have I mentioned a stone's throw to the river in summer (swimming or river tubing), and snow play at Mt Donna Buang in winter?
