Great Stay

The home was great. Albeit at the top of the hill, it's still walkable to town using trails that zig zag in the woods which is easier than walking back uphill on the road.We had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful location for our stay in Akaroa! There is an amazing view from the deck looking over the hills. We got great sunny weather which allowed us to go hiking every day and explore the town. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Thank you to our wonderful hosts. I would definitely recommend this home to others.

Easter weekend away

Great stay over a long weekend. The house was larger than expected and had everything we needed. The house is at the top of a very steep hill so we ended up driving closer to the shops instead of walking in.

Great location and views

Very quiet and scenic location. Loved hearing the birds in the bushes that surround the house. Nice views and sun into the living area through the large floor to ceiling windows. Lots of space. House was well equipped.

Very impressed with the facilities, the decor and cleanliness. A good view across the valley.The steepness of the road and steps into the house were a bit challenging for one of us, but didn't detract from our enjoyment of the place.

Glad you enjoyed the stay. Guests can opt to use their car up and down the road, but there's no way to avoid climbing the steps unfortunately. There is a photo and some information about this in the house description if anyone wants more details.

Great house…perfect location

The house was perfect for our family of 5. Very well maintained and plenty of room kids and adults alike. All the amenities are in good condition and there’s everything you need for a lovely stay. The location was perfect. A stunning view over the valley, lots of sun and just a short walk into Akaroa. I had a couple of queries of my own making and Dave was super helpful and really responsive…an excellent host.

Family Get Together

Great stay over a few nights, excellent setout of the house and had everything we needed. The house is at the top of a steep hill and further than expected from restaurants etc but that also gave a stunning view over the valley and allowed for plenty of privacy and didn't detract from the stay. Only thing to be aware of is the deck can be a bit slippery when a heavy dew or rain.

Well equipped house

A clean, warm,tidy house with plenty of beds and a nice sunny outlook. Plenty of games and jigsaw puzzles etc. Nice green setting and views. I recommend that if you watch tv etc bring your login details for the apps you like. Eg TVNZ, Three,Netflix etc in order to watch. Plenty of lovely walks in the vicinity. Highly recommend.

Anzac weekend

Excellent property, sunny and lots of space for socialising. Good location. The instructions were thorough and clear which was great.One note for the owner is the freeview had no connection. This was not an issue for us as we were not there to watch TV. This is just for the owners information.

Thanks for letting us know the Freeview had stopped working. We discovered that a recent change in the satellite used for Freeview has rendered our set-top box obsolete. We have now replaced it with a SmartVU dongle that gives both Freeview and Chromecast.
