About this property
Lakefront retreat in sunny Youbou BC
Mag's beach house welcomes you with spectacular lake views from the kitchen and from the 2-tiered decks. You will enjoy relaxing on our private beach, around the firepit, on the docks and covered boathouse. Tie your boat up to our large dock system. Jump off the end of the dock into fairly deep clear water. Enjoy amazing sunsets from the dock and the back deck. Plenty of lawnchairs provided. Gas firepit on deck. Fully equipped kitchen with dishes, fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Downstairs you will find a washer/dryer and ping pong table. Rentals include use a canoe, bicycles and 2 paddle boards. There is a woodstove in the living room and a large screen t.v. from with Amazon prime. The sofa reclines for your comfort. Free WIFI included. The bathroom has a combination tub/shower, marble floors and granite countertops. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and so does the 2nd bedroom on the main floor. There are 2 small bedrooms built into the attic with fans, one portable air con unit and an adjoining door between. Fully fenced backyard. BBQ on deck.
This cottage is a 5 minute walk to the Youbou Pub, 4 minute walk to the corner store that also sells alcohol, 5 minutes walk towards town takes you to a coffee house, 5 minutes walk up the hill takes you to the Youbou Bowling Alley with live pinsetters, a 10 minute drive takes you to the adorable town of Lake Cowichan where you can access the river for fishing or tubing. Drive 30 minutes to Duncan and you can enjoy several award-winning wineries. There are fabulous mountain bike trails from Lake Cowichan all the way to Duncan. There is a charming rustic-style golf course in Honeymoon Bay, a 20 minute drive to the other side of the lake in Honeymoon Bay called March Meadows.
**Please note that as of May 2025, there will be a Tiny home rental on the grassy shore of this property. It will have its own yard and BBQ but the dock and sandy beach will be shared.**. The entire property is 1/2 acre.

Youbou is a spectacular nature-lovers' paradise. This cottage is in a perfect location that allows you to walk to all the main amenities it has to offer. The waterfront lot has a nice grassy area for your kids to run around on and you will be able to sit on the back deck with a glass of wine or tea and enjoy an amazing sunset in the summer and go mountain biking, mushroom picking, fishing, enjoy local wineries in other seasons.
What makes this property unique
Youbou is home to free-ranging Elk. You will likely see them wander by or even wake up to them in the backyard. Please do not try to pet them or get very close to them.
Youbou is a good base to try out the many hiking and biking trails and wineries nearby. River access at Lake Cowichan is about a 10 minute drive away if you want to try tubing or fly fishing. You can also fish in the lake.
