Black Hills Bargain

An excellent home to stay in while exploring the Black Hills. We really liked the close proximity of I-90 for out adventures. The neighborhood was quiet. Although we didnt use it, the backyard deck and fire pit are nice. The added security of garage parking and entry was great during rain showers. If we ever get back to the area, we will try and rent here again.

Clean comfortable home in a convenient location!

Spotless and cozy for your family.

A lovely stay right outside of Rapid City. Black Hawk was a centralized location for all the things our family wanted to do. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We were close to restaurants and grocery stores. The home was spotless! With space to spread out, and well decorated. We especially enjoyed the filtered water from the sink. The house was clean and in great condition. The rooms were well maintained and had mulitple bathrooms. There was no shortage of hot water when both showers were being used at the same time. The large garage was a huge bonus for us to pull in and unload with the door down as it stormed on arrival. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were either too hard or too soft. There seemed to be a lack towels and washclothes. We had to wash these everyday as we would have run out. Not a big issue since we were there only 2 days. We had a couple of issues with the electronic lock code and some garbage bags. John (great host) responded immediatley which was appreciated. The biggest issue was the temperature upstairs. The A/C works great in the basement and 1st floor. The upstairs doesn't get much ventilation. There were some portable cooling units you had to put filtered water in that didn't seem to help much. Luckily the nights were cooler and the windows could be opened to cool the upstairs. One additional improvement could be more TV's. We didn't go there to watch TV but at the end of the day there was only 1 TV downstairs. Having one in the 1st floor and the main bedroom upstairs would have made this better. But, I would definietly stay here again. One of the better VRBO's weve ever used.

Black Hills Motorcycle Trip

House was clean, plenty of space and the garage was a plus. Kitchen and dining was spacious, living room was large for evening relax time. The only minor complaint was the upstairs bedrooms were a bit warm. There was supplemental coolers. It was abnormally hot as we had three days of 100 degrees which probably created the issue. Would stay here again if we come back to Rapid City.

From the owner: "We appreciate the honest feedback. We know the upstairs will get hot during the summer months, which is why we added the additional cooling system in the upper rooms. Rapid has a dry heat that the house traps in the upper floor. Adding the water to the cooling system is a little bit of a pain, but it makes a world of difference throughout the night. The system replaced an in-window air conditioner that was loud, tacky, and leaked when it rained. However, we really are doing what we can to make your experience enjoyable. I’m glad to know the space was more than adequate! It will definitely accommodate a good gathering!"
