Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, listing accuracy
Beware
Last September we booked 30 nights at this home. Questions were answered quickly and we were confdent we would be happy with our choice. Unfortunately from the moment we entered the home we knew it was not what we expected. Yes it is a single-family home; yes it has two beds/two baths. Yes there is a covered patio with outdoor furniture. Yes it has a two-car garage with opener. The problem, the cleanest area in the entire home is the garage! Knowing so much was clearly not clean meant we had to clean just about everything. Instead of that, we chose certain items in the kitchen that we knew we would use and set those things aside. The rest of the areas we just avoided all together. I had their phone # so called regarding the condition of the home. She replied it "is the desert so things get dusty". I requested a cleaner be brought in asap. She agreed and scheduled it for 3 days later. Later that day was informed by text the cleaners would come 4 days later. The next day, 1/31. her text indicated the cleaning service canceled again and she was trying to set up something the following week. On 2/2 I texted if a date/time for the cleaners was scheduled. She simply replied "no". There has been no communication from the owner since. All mirrors and windows are covered with dust. Shutters cover all windows throughout the home. All are dirty, dusty, and many have obvious scratches and bites we presume from the pet. We started listing what we were seeing and having to clean, so some of those are listed below.
Tried to use vacuum; blew dirt out of itself. Used a 3.5ft. broom to sweep the Fam. room & kitchen,
Black lint, dog hair lined the back of the sofa under the window, again unable to vacuum.
Main bedroom carpeting stained throughout. Owner told me it had been cleaned "2 weeks ago". Dust on all surfaces.
Main bedroom bath had toothpaste smeared in the sink and countertop mixed with hair. That is the FIRST thing I cleaned, disgusting. Cleaned all 3 drawers of the vanity, again disgusting.
Toilets - dirty, inside and out.
Cleaned floor of main bedroom bath shower, almost black.
Laundry room, nice to have a washer/dryer to use. Unfortunately I had to wash both as they were covered on top with dirt, the washer opening was covered in dirt (if it isn't clean using the washer would be useless as clean clothes coming out would get dirty. The dryer top, ideal to fold dry clothes, was also covered in dirt….
