I get the feeling the owners have just bought this house & are just starting to rent it out. It seems they have upgraded some parts of the apartment but others are old i.e. the kitchen doors look new, but the carcasses are very old. The lounge felt like it was missing a tv. There was a sofa for 2 facing a wall, with your back to the views of the hills, which felt odd. Personally, when I book an apartment for 4 people I expect 4 people to comfortably be able to sit in the lounge at the same time. Same with the kitchen - only 2 people could sit and eat at once. We stayed for 4 nights, but were the only people who stayed more than 1 night. People would arrive late at night and then leave straight away in the morning, so I guess it is being used as somewhere to stop on travels south. Other people kept turning up, taking photos & leaving The check in is all online & you never see the owners & no one came to talk to us. The internet didn't work in our apartment & the owner basically just said he didn't know & that was the end of it. The kitchen facilities are very poor e.g. no bread knife, there was a kettle, but the plug didn't fit into the wall, there was no corkscrew. The owners provided an adaptor ( they have 2 different plugs in Italy) & a knife but no corkscrew. There was nowhere in the bathroom to put anything. AC in one bedroom, but none in the other. The pool was nice. Sarzana was a lovely town. I wouldn't recommend due to there not being space for 4.
