Enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin size was perfect. The location was good! I would have liked to have had an easier trek to the water, we didn’t realize it was quiet a hike. I’d like to come back in the future and bring the children.

We had a great time staying at the cabin for a getaway with our kids. Nice location, clean cabin and we had everything we needed to grill and cook. Plenty of fresh towels, beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the fire pit at night. Thanks for sharing with us!

Quiet & relaxing.

The house is situated in the middle of the woods with few noises of civilization. Saw one boat on Brushy Creek. Isolated. Rustic but very nice inside. Only complaint: the door to the driveway would not lock. The locking mechanisms did not fit in their designed holes, perhaps due to the change in weather.

Cabin was great, but needs to be cleaned cause the spider webs and dog hair everywhere was not ok. Make sure you have a 4x4 truck cause you won’t make it in with anything else. Oh and hang up the lake access cause you aren’t getting there unless you want to hike down a steep terrain with a chance of getting poison ivy. Now the view of the lake was beautiful ! Secluded cabin I think not!!!! There is a cabin right next door like 30 feet away. And private is not happening cause there is not blinds for privacy at all on the 1st floor. Also, Someone tried to break into our truck while we were in bed. Would I recommend staying here no.

Cabin in the woods

We rented both cabins for a large group. They are just as described. True cabins in the woods. Some bugs here and there, yes, again cabin in the woods. We absolutely adored these houses. Had everything we needed plus some. Sofa beds are aged, but kids didnt mind. The drive down to the water did require 4x4, we had on and off rain, but we didnt pay attention to the fact that there was another, easier route until several days in. We still chose the 4x4 route. It was a fun challenge for us. The location by water was the absolute best. Super quiet and way back in Brushy. We LOVED it. The dock needs some love, we fell through a few spots, but didnt stop us from living our best lives. We actually tied 3 boats up to it but again, we know how to make do and arent scared of a challenge. We would definitely rent again. If you have a large group, are looking for a true adventure in the woods, rent both! Thank you!!

Cozy cabin, gorgeous view

My family stayed for thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful time. The pictures didn’t do the beautifully rustic cabin justice. We enjoyed the front porch and fires, driving down to the lake to explore with our kids, and playing games in the warm living room. Kids slept great in upstairs loft and one of the queens downstairs was comfortable (the other was springy lumpy noisy). Communication was friendly with quick responses. I highly recommend this place!

clean cabin, no access to water!

the cabin was clean and very cute! however, i specifically asked the owner if the dock/water could be accessed somewhat easily, as my husband has chronic back issues. the drive to the dock was extremely rough. there was no place to park but on other peoples property (which we were confronted by two neighbors telling us that we were trespassing). there was a dock but no way to get to it! i would not recommend renting this place, until the owners clearly mark what dock to use and steps to get to it! horrible experience!!!!!

We ended up not staying at the property because it was not what was advertised on vrbo.

The pictures posted are misleading that you have a clear path down a hill to a dock on the water. The property was overgrown ,back in the woods with no access to the lake. I would not recommend this property and am very upset that we wasted our money with no opportunity for refund due to false advertising.

Secluded Getaway

My husband and I rented this place last-minute for our anniversary and it was just what we were looking for if you want a secluded and pet-friendly place to spend a few days. The cabin was cozy and clean and the kitchen well stocked with utensils and cookware. Dish soap and hand soap were provided, as well as minimal bathroom linens but I'd definitely recommend picking up anything else you might need prior to arrival as the cabin is a bit out of the way and no other toiletries are provided. The lot has a barbecue pit, firepit, and plenty of outdoor seating, and the views of the lake are gorgeous. The lake is not accessible from the property, however there is a floating dock nearby which is perfect for swimming or launching a kayak. Please note that the road down to the dock is very steep and depending on the vehicle could be a tricky drive. It is within walking distance too if you're up for a bit of a trek. Overall this was a nice place to spend the weekend. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to spot plenty of wildlife and see the stars at night and the host was very responsive to messages.

Cabin was nice, drive not so much

Check in was available early, which normally is a real plus. The dock shown in photo was actually a 1/4 mile below the cabin, accessible only by a rough road... a road I went down but had to find another way up another route up bc I couldn’t ascend the route I had descended. Actually sustained some damage to my van. The advertisement said, “Follow the drive to boat ramp.” Once I started down, there was no turning back. Perhaps the advertisement meant go the direction I did ascend, but I had to traverse a ditch that damaged my vehicle a little more to get to dock.. In order to leave cabin, I had to turn off traction Control and get a running start. We had brought a pontoon boat due to the advertisement. We found a boat road more easily accessible some miles a away, but even with a one ton 4x4, had to lock in 4c4 And get a running start and then re-secure boat at the top of the hill. I realize that the area received much rain lately but I feel like a heads up might have been appropriate.

Beautiful scenery sewer smell lack luster communication no power

Read reviews before renting!! First the views were amazing overlooking the water, quiet surroundings and pet friendly. If that is all you care about great. Communication - No one notified us there was a “planned” power outage in the area from 6am to 2pm. Meaning no heat with 39 degrees temp and no kitchen for coffee or food at the cabin, etc. There was no communication on check-in procedures received until a couple hours before check-in. While no big deal overall, typically we have gotten a welcome note with details needed for check-in and check-out. No check-out communication at all either via VRBO app, phone or in the cabin. Everything is a guess! Sewer smell in cabin as mentioned in other reviews coming from the kitchen is awful. Had to use a candle most of the trip to mask the smell. Did not realize until we were home and unpacked that the smell had actually embedded in our clothing requiring us to wash items we had not even used. This is a MUST repair! Sent a notification we had left and our concerns, etc. no response from owner to date. Typically, I don’t leave reviews and we rent places all over several times a year. I can honestly we would not rent here again nor would we recommend. The lack of communication is a real issue!

Awesome cabin

Upon arrival the cabin and the view are absolutely stunning unfortunately the cabin did smell like rotten eggs I assume from the water underneath of the kitchen sink smelled so bad we had to buy a candle to light by the state there was no hand soap in the bathroom or by the kitchen there was only one roll of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels no extras and the walk to the water is basically an adventure and the drive is rough if you're not used to Country Mountain Road driving. Overall great experience and we will totally be back the beds were comfy kitchen was equipped with everything we needed the kids had a blast The Neighbors in the neighborhood were super friendly and the floating dock was so much fun

Secluded

It was a great weekend for bonding with the family. Kitchen was fully stocked, cold ac, . We had cell phone service (AT & T) we ran into a slight problem on back road to lake and Lisa was very helpful along with friendly neighbors. She welcomed our dogs. Her husband was very friendly and helpful with directions around area.

Weekend stay

Great cabin space. Easy to get stuck if you have the wrong cars. Beautiful view. Provides a lot of essential equipment, like all cookware, blankets, etc. Will be back again. Glenn the neighbor down below is a great guy!

Just ok

A good quite getaway away from it all. Not a good property if your looking for lake access and boating. This is very remote and getting boat in from property is not possible due to roads and accessibility. We just used a public boat ramp but getting to property can be challenging due to steep hill and road condition was poor. We also were aware of challenge with roads etc from other reviews. House had lots of spiders around and was ok on being clean, kinda dark and there were very little linens. Overall it was just ok for last minute trip. More than likely would not stay again since we come to the lake for boating but again last minute trip so it worked. Overall it was ok. We did enjoy the quite though so if that’s what your looking for it would be good. Owner was very responsive and accommodating.
