Lovely stay, quiet area

My partner and I stayed at the Willows for 1 week. To be honest, we didn’t want to leave as it was so homely. We were left to our own devices, but they were on hand if we needed them!

Great Stay

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Well presented and equipped, it was very clean. Rural location which is what we wanted. The only advice we would give to improve the property is to improve the WiFi service in the lounge, which is quite poor but very good in the rest of the house.

Lovely stay as always

Stayed here a few times now its off the beat and track and an excellent base for visiting the island Bed is comfortable its clean quite and if you want to see the stars a near perfect dark skies spot We like it so much we keep coming back The host lives next door and are the perfect neighbours

Convenient for visiting relatives locally

As a frequent guest here I find the property ideal for my needs. Everything provided for self catering plus a big welcome from hosts. On site parking and the garden a bonus. Central location, a car recommended.

We came to unwind, and that's what we did in this quiet part of the island. Sitting out in the garden was just the start we had each day. Muriel and Mike were helpful and couldn't have been nicer. would go here again

Peace & Quiet

Second time we have stayed at the Willows, a great location for peace and quiet. Everything you could need for restful holiday and getting around to see the IOW. Michael & Muriel are friendly welcoming hosts. Property is as described and red squirrels did pay us a visit. A car is recommended.

Another lovely stay!

I've stayed several times in order to visit relatives very locally. For me, it is a perfect location in peaceful surroundings, even seeing red squirrels on the lawn! Muriel and Michael are very welcoming, the accommodation is always spotlessly clean and facilities compare very favourably with other places I have stayed in. Having a garden and on-site parking is definitely a bonus! I hope to return again.

Self catering for two right in the centre of Isle of Wight

Lovely place for a quiet break. You need a car and parking at the property is available but a little tricky. There are several things that could be provided or improved that would make it ideal. We would gladly stay there again but next time would know what to take with us!

Perfect bungalow

The Willows is an excellent bungalow in a very peaceful location yet handy for all the areas we visited. The bungalow is well furnished, warm and inviting with a comfy bed and excellent shower, superb outside space with lots of wildlife about. Muriel and Michael are just lovely owners, welcoming but not intrusive. Our visit coincided with the village Scarecrow festival which we really enjoyed photographing. The sort of place you want/need to get away from day-to-day life and relax

Owners very helpful and friendly, checking that everything in the cottage was there and as we needed it. Rooms all clean and functioning as expected. Only point disliked, the access to drive and need to 3-point+ turn to get out - often made easier by the early departure of the one car parked alongside on the drive. A minor point, but not the start you want on each otherwise relaxing day. Happy to return there in the future.

Ideal accommodation

We spent a lovely week at The Willows. Mr and Mrs Burns were most welcoming - we had many good chats with them! The bungalow was very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Ideally the shower room needs some updating but was clean and perfectly serviceable. The bungalow is in a quiet village but well situated for visiting all parts of the island. Just a shame that the bus service through the village isn't more regular which would have enabled us to have made better use of our bus passes! Yes, you do have to drive through a small ford to reach The Willows but by driving slowly it caused us no problem (and our exhaust is very low slung!). All in all a very enjoyable week perfected by great weather. We have no hesitation in recommending The Willows.

A peaceful retreat in a central location on the island.

The bungalow is ideal for 2 people. It is well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We think a little bit of updating is needed in some areas. There is convenient parking just outside on the driveway. Muriel and Michael the owners are next door and are friendly hosts. They are there with help and information but not interfering. Outside is a lovely garden with a sitting area in the afternoon sun at the end of a long day out. There is lots of bird life and red squirrels visiting the garden several times a day. The location is great for driving to different areas of the island in a short time. The community pub the Gallybaggers in Chillerton is within easy walking distance and has a great quiz once a month.

A very comfortable bungalow in a quiet setting.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday staying in this light and airy bungalow. Great location for exploring the island. We enjoyed seeing the many birds in the garden, including partridges and pheasants. We also saw the red squirrel several times too. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. We will definitely book this property when we come to the Isle of Wight again. Many thanks

Good accommodation in lovely setting

This accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Couple of areas possibly needed updating and a washing machine would have been useful. Being able to park next to the accommodation was a bonus and the outside space was fabulous with comfortable garden chairs to use as well as a table and chairs for outside dining. Public footpath nearby was useful to explore the area.

A comfortable bungalow in a quiet location.

An enjoyable week in this one bedroom bungalow in a beautiful rural location, with lots of walks around the area and easy access to Newport. The owners were very welcoming and quick to resolve any issues. The bungalow was well appointed and comfortable with more than adequate heating . A pretty garden with nesting birds and a red squirrel visiting each day. Some work on a new patio is in progress but did not distract from the overall enjoyment of this rural location.

Great location to explore the island from. Well equipped and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful setting, and the owners were very welcoming and friendly. Just watch out if you have a low car as you need to negotiate a small stream/ford to get to the property!

Just what we needed

This was our first time on the Isle of Wight for 15 years, and we wanted a base accessible to all parts of the island. The Willows was just the job. The accommodation was very comfortable, and we very much enjoyed our stay. The only real negative is not within the owner's control. To get to the lane where the property is you have to cross a narrow ford, which it is virtually impossible to do in a car without scraping the front bumper. Thankfully, we were mostly going out on our tandem, when it was not such a problem!
