Thanksgiving getaway

My husband and I brought our 2 boys and daughter-in-law to Florida to get away from the cold of Maine for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed that we were .5 miles from the beach, but that we also had our own pool. (One son also appreciated that Dunkin was also less than .5 away.) The property is very nice. Central location. A lot to do. The owner is also very responsive to questions.

Beautiful Oasis!

Beautiful Property in a quiet serene neighborhood. Loved how close to everything it was. Just a short walk to the Beach, restaurants and shopping! House was well kept and comfortable with lots of space. Will definitely rent again! Can’t wait!

Family vacation

My wife took our two young kids and father in law to visit the beach. The house is very close to the beach and well stocked with everything you need to enjoy a few days at the beach. Lovely home and location.

Nice property & great location!

We have a family of 5 with 3 kids and the house was perfect for all of our needs. Very clean, and everything stated on the listing was accurate and functional. We had originally planned on getting a car, but shortly after arriving at the airport and taking a short 30 minute uber we decided that renting a golf cart was suitable for our 4 night stay. We requested the golf cart the night we arrived, and the keys were promptly dropped off first thing the next morning for a great condition 6 seater that was already parked in the garage waiting for us...which our kids loved btw! The beach, restaurants, and stores were all no further than a 5-10 minute ride, and they even provided a resident parking pass which was very convenient. Highly recommend this property for any families, or small groups looking for the right place in the Ft Lauderdale area!!

Bombay was a dream

This home was perfect from the serenity of the backyard to the location of the beach and other activities ( pier , dining, Bball courts, canals, water taxis) . The host was incredibly responsive, even brought over spike ball for our family to play pool side. The home is laid out perfectly and the area is walkable , quiet and friendly. We will be back :)

Wonderful!!

This was a perfect home with all the right amenities. Not to mention it was less than 5 min to the beach!! The pool and backyard were perfect for lounging and provided privacy. The neighborhood is well kept and quiet… we felt safe. Totally recommend!!

A wonderful stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The house was great for our family. Excellent location, really nice and spacious. On the whole it was clean and comfortable, although there are some areas that could benefit from maintenance / updating to bring it up to a slightly higher standard (e.g. better pool towels, a pump for the bike tyres, the garden shade). It could also have more plates, bowls etc. These things didn't affect our stay or enjoyment but are little things that provide better value when you are paying a premium for a house.

You’ll love this house!

We had such a great time. This house is wonderful, nice and clean and close to the beach. Renting the golf cart was super handy to get back and forth to the beach. Having a private pool and hot tub was super relaxing! We had a wonderful vacation!!

Great house and pool!

We loved our stay and the pool was perfect! We were traveling with an infant and the use of the crib and high chair at the property was an incredible help! Great house and quiet neighborhood with easy walks to restaurants and the beach.

We've stayed near Las Olas many times and decided to shake things up and go north to a more intimate side of town. This house is in a great location and with the golf cart, it was so much fun to go everywhere!

Very nice stay for not being all that close to the beach.

First of all, thank you for letting us stay at your home. It was extremely clean and welcoming. The pool and hot tub was wonderful and enjoyed by all of us! The neighborhood was safe and in close proximity to Publix. We enjoyed the bicycles and the use of the beach wagon. From the house description, we did think that the house was closer to the beach than it actually was, it took about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the beach depending on traffic and how fast we were able to walk. A brisk pace with no red lights could get you there in 10 minutes, otherwise it was 15 minutes . Outdoors, there was a table and chairs for outdoor dining that was nice, but I have to say that each time anyone of us would go outside to enjoy the pool or patio area, the security system would announce that “you are being recorded”. That quickly became annoying. The house manager said that he would ask the owner to turn that off, in which I think he did for a couple of days, but then it came back on for the duration of the stay. The pictures on Vrbo also showed the back glass doors as being completely opened like alfresco style, on one of the evenings that was particularly cool, we did that. It was very lovely until the house manager told us that we were not allowed to do that. I had explained that I move the thermostat up to 80° so that the air conditioning would not be coming on and just running, but he asked us to keep the doors closed anyway. At that time I told him that it probably would be best to not show this house advertised with alfresco doors. I also suggested that for a future guests, the owner might want to put curtains up that we’re not quite so Sheer, not only did we not feel like we had privacy but the sun came streaming through the curtains easily first thing in the morning, waking us early. I would also suggest that the kitchen be stocked a little bit more fully. We went to make frozen pizzas for lunch one day and we found out that we had no pizza pans to cook the pizzas on or even a pizza cutter. There was also not a strainer for the pasta that we chose to eat one night. For anyone who is planning on cooking some of their meals at the house, the lack of pots, pans, utensils was a bit of a problem. If you do not plan on cooking meals at the house but just doing takeout, the kitchen was completely acceptable with plenty of plates, glassware and mugs. Overall, we had a really nice time and took advantage of the many restaurants available.

Needs some replacement items

The house was nicely updated but needed more/new beach towels (fraying and old), bathroom towels (stains on them), cushions on the outdoor furniture had stains and mold on them. There were 6 lounge chairs for 8 guests. Poor lighting in the bedroom with queen bed and fans in bedrooms would help. Need to replace pillow. No exhaust fans in the bathrooms either. For the amount of money we spent I would have expected more. Location was nice. Could walk to Lauderdale by the Sea area for food. Publix very close by as well. Pool was nice and clean. I think if they replace a few things this could be a good property to rent. Property manager was great to deal with and very attentive.

Awesome pool, great location, lovely escape!

This is a lovely home, in a fabulous location, with a large pool, hot tub, and lots of outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy being outside. Yes, the house is modern and updated and the kitchen, in particular, is great. It's also laid out well, with the living/kitchen space open concept, the master BR on one side, and the two guest BR on the other side. But honestly it's the outdoor space and location - at least for us - that was the lynchpin here. We spent 99% of our time by the pool - which was delightfully warm and meant both kids and grown-ups alike could enjoy it - or in the 6-seater golf cart tooting around town, including to the beach. While choosing to rent the golf cart initially felt a bit indulgent, we found it well worth it. The kids (ages 4-9) got a HUGE kick out of it and, honestly, it was MUCH more fun to go to Publix on the regular in a golf cart than in the minivan we'd rented! We did have a few small issues when we first arrived (recycling bin in the kitchen hadn't been cleaned out and was overflowing, dirty kitchen floor, odd smell in one bedroom, bar across hot tub we couldn't detach) BUT Mike the local property manager was awesome. He was incredibly attentive, stopped by personally at least twice, and solved everything for us. We've rented enough homes to know they're rarely perfect upon arrival and the attention paid to us here was top-notch. Michael the owner was also incredibly responsive and helpful via the VRBO site. Michael and Mike, thank you for helping us have a wonderful getaway; we enjoyed it tremendously!

Lovely stay at Bombay Beach House

This is a great property. Location can’t be beat. House is well appointed and communication with the owner is seamless. I would def recommend renting this house.

Close to everything but.

We thought the property was a great location to the attractions close by. The home was smaller than we thought, but was ok. the pool was great, clean and very warm. The neighborhood is safe. The disappointments were many, dirty heating and cooling vents, stove missing knobs, outside patio furniture dirty with mold and mildew, and a dead rat found at the base of the hot tub. If you want a location close to the ocean, than this fits the bill, and you will pay for it..

Great spot, very clean

Nice spot and lovely pool and outdoor space with pool. Communication with owner and property manager was straightforward and easy. We enjoyed a girls weekend here, close to grocery store and several restaurants
