Perfect place for us and our pup! Nice and secluded yet still close to Cascade for snowboarding! Clean and comfortable :) Would absolutely book again!

Wendy was very welcoming and even brought over her crockpot when she didn't have to.Only negative thing was the wifi and the channels on the TV. So hopefully when we come next time that will be fixed. All in all we had a great stay.

Really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable rooms with a well equipped kitchen and fenced in area for our dog. Loved sitting on the covered porch and hearing owls and coyotes in the distance as night set in. Devils Lake State Park, Wisconsin Dells, The Crane Sanctuary and more are waiting for you to explore in this nice area.

We brought our furry family and had an excellent stay. The location is wooded, quiet and in a great proximity to hiking (Devils Lake) and biking (Great Sauk Trail). Wendy promptly responded to any questions we had and the cottage was set up well for our extended stay (6 weeks). We spent a lot of time exploring Baraboo, Portage and surrounding area. Lots of good restaurants and take out nearby.

Peaceful Respite

Close to EVERYTHING! Crane foundation is amazing, wildlife park, casino, devils lake! The area is amazing, the vistas, lakes. We took the ferry from Lodi to Merrimac too. Then back to the rustic cottage for peace, nature, serenity at it's best!

Much needed getaway

Wendy and Dean were amazing! A snow storm was about to hit that area and Wendy reached out to me letting us know we can come early to avoid it. So thoughtful! They came the next day, but not before asking if we were awake to plow and shovel. We thought that was so considerate. Their pictures really do it no justices. The places was even better than what’s online. We loved that we were able to bring our fur babies too! They had everything for pets! The house smelled great and very clean. We will definitely rebook!

Peaceful R&R

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Communication before/during/after our stay was wonderful and you get the feeling the hosts truly want to take care of you. As soon as we walked inside, we felt welcome and that the place was going to offer the peaceful, serene vibes we were looking for. Highlights were - the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, the master bed was very comfortable with nice sheets, the bathroom towels were thick and soft (which is often lacking at rentals), water pressure was great, and it was very dog-friendly. We were so "in the country" that at first I didn't believe we were so close to towns with restaurants, shops & bars - but with a 15 minute drive or less, there were all of these things. This property would be perfect for a Fall trip!

Get Away From It All

We have stayed here multiple times and always enjoyed it. It is secluded enough that you feel totally removed from the bustle of daily life, yet close enough to Baraboo and Devil's's Lake to have access to good restaurants, shopping and outdoor activities. The kitchen is well stocked, linens and towels provided, as well as wifi, TV and even some DVDs if you want to relax with a movie. We always feel very at home here and if you want to "get away from it all" this cabin fits the bill.

Wonderful, peaceful house

We couldn't have had a better stay. The 4 of us attended the Great Dane Club of America National. This year it happened to be in the Dells. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place. The 4 of us really enjoyed the house and the surrounding area view. The house was extremely clean and well care for. I honestly can't think of anything I would have changed.

Peaceful getaway, but close to everything

We had a great "long weekend" visit to the property. Found the peace and quiet / nature we were looking for! Ample room - never felt cramped, all the expected amenities in good working order. Everything was meticulously clean and organized - wish we could have stayed longer. Within about 20-30 minutes from the MANY sights and activities Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells has to offer (which is a LOT!). We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a great getaway!

Country Respite

Roomy house with a lovely porch, big yard, trails through the acreage, and a wonderful fire pit. We enjoyed this quiet, country home and the nearby hiking trails and Dells boats.

First trip with young dog

We had a great visit at the Rustic View Cottage. The cabin was large, open and had great space for our 10 month old puppy... both inside and the fenced area. The kennel area is stocked with towels and dog brushes, extra water and food bowls and fenced area with a doggie door to an outside covered kennel space. The cottage is on a dead end road, so there isn't much traffic or noise. There is a small park just 1/4 mile down the road that overlooks the Wisconsin River valley and is great for star gazing. There is a large open kitchen with all the cookware and spices you could need. The bathroom and bedrooms are large and there are two separate living rooms with their own TV. We would have had plenty of space if we would have brought the kids. The only downside is solely due to Wisconsin's abundance of mosquitoes. This year has been especially rainy, so everywhere is a mosquito haven. But, the Rustic View Cottage had a supply of OFF and citronella candles available for outside use. It was perfect for a getaway!

Peacefull Hideaway

We chose this house because of the close proximity to the hikes and all the other activities in the area (Dells, fishing, casino...) We especially liked the very thoughtful setup for the dogs, which includes an inside and outside kennel. We have 2 dogs and prefer to take them with us than to board them. The house met all of our expectations, and the dogs loved it too! It was very quiet and serene. Lots of room for the dogs to run around, and even trails in the woods right next to the house. Everything was about 20 to 30 minutes drive away, and the rides were beautiful. No traffic, just beautiful scenery. We saw a lot of deer along the way. We definitely would like to return, hopefully in winter to ski at Devils Head.

A little bit of wilderness

Very relaxing. On the way back into the lane that the cottage was on we saw a Momma deer nursing her baby. Just majestic. The dogs loved the ability to run and sniff all the new smells. Very good host.

Peace and Tranquility

My husband, dog and I stayed at the Rustic View Cabin May 1-8, 2024. We absolutely loved it. The "cabin" was more a lovely, appointed home. It was quiet and peaceful. The interior was nicely decorated, and the kitchen had everything a cook could want. Our city dog loved the fenced in yard (so many new country smells), and on those occasions when we left to go out to dinner, he was safe and comfortable in the indoor kennel. We hope to visit this lovely haven again! Thanks to Wendy for keeping this "cabin" so clean, warm and welcoming!

Cozy Cottage

We have been coming to this cottage for years now. Never disappointed, Always feel so welcomed and like our home away from home. Love the area and having a place like this to enjoy after exploring the area makes our visits so much more enjoyable. Great Hosts!
