A wonderful property in a lovely location. We didn’t tire of the views and it was a great spot to see both south and northern parts of the island.The little touches of tea, coffee and milk were appreciated. Calheta has a great supermarket and lots of little restaurants to explore around the area.Communication was fabulous too. Couldn’t fault our stay.

Lovely Villa with Stunning Views

We had a lovely week at the villa. Prior to arrival Bill's communication was excellent in terms of advice and information. A minor issue we had was resolved immediately during our stay. The villa is just as it looks in the photos and description. I would re-emphaisise that you need a car to go anywhere (which did not bother us but may not suit everyone). Calheta is 15 minutes or so away with lots of restaurants, beach and a marina (we went on a boat trip and saw lots of Dolphins). We also went to another couple of excellent restaurants in the other direction from the property. Many thanks Bill, we had a great time.

Der Aufenthalt im BlueSeaCottage war insgesamt sehr schön und erholsam. Das Haus sehr sauber und gepflegt und die Aussagen des Vermieters waren alle zutreffend.Leider sind kleinere Störungen nicht immer zu vermeiden, wie z.B. Bauarbeiten in der Nachbarschaft oder wilde Katzen aus der Umgebung, die dafür sorgen, dass man die Türen geschlossen halten muss.Insgesamt aber ein sehr guter Aufenthalt mit einem aufmerksamen Vermieter, der umgehend gehandelt hat.

Pittoresque small house with everything you need

We had a great stay at Blue Sea Cottage. The location with views to the ocean are outstanding. The place - garden and house - in a "Portuguese Style" is very pittoresque. The rooms on two floors offer enough space for 4 adults. The interior design is tasteful and functional. Everything you need for your vacation is there. It should be noted that January is a time of high humidity. It was difficult to dry the rooms sufficiently, especially after showering. Bill was able to help us quickly via the property management. An additional dehumidifier was installed. Communication was straightforward and help was provided quickly. More detailed instructions on how to better ventilate the rooms on the first day would be helpful for guests at this time of year. The surroundings are very rural and quiet. From here you can easily explore the (south) western part of Madeira up to the north side to Porto Moniz by car and the western highlands with some natural highlights can also be reached quickly. The nearby Cafeteria Panoeste (within walking distance with a steep climb), which also serves fresh bread and sweet pastries, is highly recommended. To Funchal is a more or less 1 hour drive.

Lovely home, stunning views, excellent service

We loved our week at the Blue Sea Cottage! It was a lovely property with a modern and stylish vibe, stunning sea views, a beautiful yard with heated pool, and excellent privacy. Our host Bill provided impeccable directions and advice on Madeira. He and his team were easily reachable and highly responsive. The check-in process was very smooth and straightforward. Highly recommend for couples or families looking for a peaceful, enjoyable stay in Madeira.

Das Ferienhaus ist toll, schöner kleiner Pool mit angenehmer Temperatur. Es war alles da was man benötigt. Sogar Holzkohle für den Grill, eine Packung Kaffee, Tee, Salz, Pfeffer und 1 Liter Milch. Sehr ruhig und eine geniale Aussicht

Could have been better.

Host provided helpful instructions prior to arrival. Self check in was easy. Coffee tea & milk were provided. We could not use pool on our 1st & 2nd day while maintenance was working on the pool. We were asked to fill the pool with water before we could use it which felt like another inconvenience. The pool is smaller than it looked in the listing pictures & has cheap fake tile liner glued to it. The washing machine was not working & although it was impressive to have it fixed within a day, having workers on property again was another intrusion during our stay. Showers have no shelf to put soaps, master shower does not drain well, fills up with water. Dish drainer needs to be replaced as it has black in the corners (also mentioned in prior 6/30/24 review) The gate does not always close with remote & you have to manually close it. (also mentioned in prior 6/12/24 review) House next-door is very close & was noisier than what we would’ve liked. Yes we could have communicated all these concerns during our 5 day stay but after the intrusions & need to send several messages regarding the pool & washing machine the first 2 days we decided to disconnect & enjoy the rest of our time off our phones. Overall the house & view are beautiful, but the entire property needs attention. Based on this & all the little things adding up, unfortunately our experience was not a much-needed peaceful stay & we did not feel that we received value for the price & would not recommend or stay here again

Une magnifique vue, calme et relativement bien situé (si on pense que l’ile de Madère est très montagneuse). La cuisine pourrait être un peu mieux équipée, sinon il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un agréable séjour.

Lovely get away in Madeira

This is a lovely property in a great location - quiet and peaceful with lovely views. You definitely need a car due to its location, but there is gated off street parking. The villa itself is clean, well presented and has great WiFi (I was able to work without any issue one afternoon). The pool was a hit with the children and the adults enjoyed watching on from a shaded spot looking over the sea. I also had great communication from the host and local representative who responded to questions very quickly - there is also a good guide provided with tips for days out and things to do. All in all, a great holiday, great villa and I would certainly recommend.

Im allgemeinen waren wir zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. Einige Punkte möchten wir doch festhalten, was uns nicht begeistert hat. Sauberkeit: - Haare im Badezimmer - Tresor im Schrank total verstaubt - Backofenbleck dreckig - verschmutzes Weinglas - mussten von Hand abwaschen, da die Geschirrwaschmaschine nicht sauber gewaschen hat - Geschirrabtropfer war sehr dreckig (schwarz in den Ecken) Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. im Pool löst sich die Matte. In den Schränken muffelt es. Einige Zubehöre fehlen: - Keine Topflappen für Backofen - Für das Aussenchminee kein Zubehör. Grillzange, Blaseball etc. Nur etwas Kohle vorhaden gewesen, keine Anzünderbeschleuniger für Kohle. Freundlichkeit: - alles etwas lieblos, kein Wasser oder sonst eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit zur Begrüssung hingestellt. - Hausskipper musste kurz mit Architekt vorbei kommen, kein Problem, aber kein Hallo, kein Nachfragen wie es uns gefällt und kein auf wiedersehen. - Vom Eigentümer freundliche Mails,Vorinformationen bekommen. Uns ist es wichtig dies mitzuteilen um Verbesserungen anzustreben, damit weitere Feriengäste voll zufrieden sind. Fazit: Wir haben die Woche sicher genossen, aber müssen sagen, dass Preis - Leistung nicht gestimmt hat.

Un magnifique logement ! Une vraie bulle de bonheur pendant 1 semaine dans cette maison. Le jardin et la piscine sont incroyables. L'hôte est très facilement contactable. Nous avons passé des vacances de rêve en famille !

Jolie maison avec magnifique vue

Maison propre et moderne. Jardin paradisiaque, au calme. Piscine chauffée mais à rénover. Le liner et la couverture à bulles sont en mauvais état. Parking fermé par une porte automatique qui ne fonctionne pas toujours… on doit l’activer à la main… pas toujours facile. Vacances très réussies sur cette merveilleuse île.

Le logement est comme décris dans l'annonce. Ne pas snobber les descriptions du propriétaire pour accéder à la maison la première fois, les routes peuvent être vraiment très raides a Madère.

herausragende Unterkunft mit Blick aufs Meer

Das Ferienhaus ist außergewöhnlich und unser Urlaub dort war fantastisch. Es ist wunderschön gelegen mit Blick aufs Meer, geräumig und für 4-6 Personen geeignet mit viel Platz auf zwei Etagen und zwei großen Duschbädern und einem kleinen WC. Der Pool ist absolut fantastisch und wir haben diesen fast jeden Tag genutzt. Die Aussicht ist unfassbar schön aufs Meer mit Sonnenuntergängen am Abend und der Garten groß und mit viel Pflanzen und Palmen. Sehr schön war das Frühstück draußen am Tisch neben dem Pool. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter war absolut perfekt, wir wurden im Vorfeld bestens informiert und haben alle Informationen bekommen, die wir brauchten mit vielen nützlichen Hinweisen und Tipps. Alle Fragen wurden sehr schnell beantwortet - wir fühlten uns sehr gut betreut. Der Ort liegt abseits der Tourismushochburgen, und dadurch ist es sehr ruhig, aber ein Auto ist sehr wichtig um diese tolle Insel erkunden und entdecken zu können. Wir würden auf jeden Fall ein Auto mit Navi und Automatik empfehlen, es macht vieles einfacher bei den teilweise sehr engen und steilen Straßen. Ein Stellplatz gibt es direkt auf dem Grundstück - das ist sehr praktisch und ggf. auch direkt vor dem Haus am Straßenrand. Für uns war der Urlaub im dem Ferienhaus und auf Madeira ein absoluter Traumurlaub. Wir sind dankbar, dass wir dieses tolle Objekt gefunden haben und nutzen konnten und zwei fantastische Woche mit vielen Wanderungen erlebt haben. Danke nochmal!

Great stay at Blue Sea Cottage

We had a great weeks stay at Blue Sea Cottage. All information given by Bill was timely. Self check in easy. Villa is excellent. We had plenty of room for three adults. Great bathrooms and kitchen. Outside poll area and view is as per the picture. Perhaps some basics in the kitchen would be great such as pepper, salt, olive oil and cling film. All of which we purchased and left for the lucky people who came after us. Also the BBQ had no implements such as tongs etc. So using the BBQ was a bit tricky. However these are small suggestions for the owner rather than a complaint. Over all we would recommend Blue Sea Cottage as a great place to stay and explore the Island.

Lovely cottage

We had a very relaxing week in this lovely cottage. Everything we needed was there and the cottage is very comfortable. It is quite remote and we had to drive everywhere but there are some nice places to explore . Only a 3 minute drive to cafe Panoeste with delicious coffee and fresh pastries.
