Gorgeous place and view

Communication with our host and his staff was excellent and the neighbors were kind to us as well. The house is beautiful and restored to a better than new level. Walking throughout the town and it’s many cafes and restaurants was a delight.

perfect location and well-maintained guest home

Beautiful town situated in the heart of Lake Como overlooking L'isola di Comacina. We stayed a week and found all the amenities to our enjoyment. Atilla arranged for a chilled bottle of Prosecco and a small snack to be presented upon our arrival. The check-in and out process was efficient. The kitchen worked very well for breakfasts and a few lunches. The outdoor patio and terraces provided ample space for an aperitivo. Atilla check in on us via WhatsApp many times to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. Grazie mille Attila!

A most relaxing and refreshing vacation

We had never stayed at Lake Como before and had only really heard of Como and Belaggio. Our daughter helped us select the Pilissy Guest House, primarily due to its position on the Lake Como Greenway. We are big walkers and it was appealing that we could visit several towns by foot. This place was PERFECT for us. Not only was it well situated, but the owner and property managers provided immediate responses to our questions. And the views were unparalleled. If you want to stay in the middle of tourists and hustle, with overly expensive restaurants, don’t come here. But if you want a relaxing vacation, in a small, historic village, with plenty of local, family owned restaurants nearby, this is the place. We couldn’t have been more pleased. P.S.- if you want to visit the larger towns on the lake, the ferry is only a 12 minute walk away.

Breathtaking View from the Tree Tops

Our family truly enjoyed being part of the Ossuccio community in this gorgeous, well-maintained home. The view from every window & balcony was unparalleled. Atilla & Debora took care of our every need and provided tons of information before our arrival and after. Debora even drove us to the grocery store - an act that was above and beyond generous! We were greeted with Prosecco and nuts and the house was well-stocked to make cooking a breeze (spices, olive oil, tin foil - basic items you need that many houses don’t provide). We were fortunate enough to be there during the festival of San Giovanni and had front row seats to the fireworks from the comfort of our bedroom! We highly recommend staying here and are grateful to Debora & Atilla for their hospitality.

My name is Gábor Atilla Pilissy-Sipos, and I am the proud owner of Pilissy Guest House. Although not Italian by origin, my heart beats for this extraordinary country. I was born in Hungary, hold Australian citizenship, and come from a noble family whose history spans nearly 900 years. Remarkably, over 500 years ago, some of my ancestors studied right here in Italy while serving the Hungarian king.

I hold degrees in both engineering and physical education, which allow me to work freely and creatively across many fields. I’m an explorer at heart — always seeking new adventures, embracing diverse cultures, and meeting locals wherever I go. I believe the true essence of travel lies not only in discovering beautiful places, but in understanding the spirit and soul of a community.

This open-minded and curious nature has inspired me to create a guest house where comfort, authenticity, and heartfelt hospitality come together. My goal is to offer you not just a place to stay, but a place to feel at home.

What makes this location even more special is that the only island on Lake Como is situated right in front of the house. On special occasions, fireworks are launched directly from the lake, offering a magical display you can enjoy from the comfort of the terrace or balcony.

The surrounding landscape is simply breathtaking — lush hillsides, crystal-clear waters, and majestic peaks come together to create an atmosphere that feels like a living painting.

I’ve always admired Italian culture, art, and architecture, and feel fortunate to have many Italian friends who have helped me understand the deep-rooted beauty of this country.
