Un piso recientemente renovado y moderno que forma parte del recientemente renovado Steam Corn Mill de 200 años. El piso tiene calefacción por suelo radiante, una cocina completamente nueva, cuarto de baño con ducha húmeda y banda ancha rápida. El salón tiene una estufa de leña para acogedoras tardes de invierno. Ideal para una familia de 4 o 5. Situado en una calle tranquila con senderos que conducen desde la puerta a impresionantes vistas de los alrededores, un antiguo cementerio en la cima de una colina y el puente de caballo de carga en Wellow Ford para una paleta de verano.

This is our second time to stay as it is a very convenient location for visiting relatives and exploring the countryside. Had everything we needed to enjoy breakfast in. We were out most of the day - great to have a washing machine to use after all our walks and our daughter’s runs on the trails.

July 2020 stay

Beautifully renovated apartment within owners property. Kitchen diner and living area all open plan and has everything you could need, really well kitted out. Lovely clean master double bedroom and separate bedroom with a bunk bed and single bed which can be made into another double. Immaculately clean and dog friendly too. Great location for a visiting base around 6 miles south of Bath and there are some lovely dog walks from the doorstep. Very quiet location and Wellow is a lovely village. Local pub within a couple of minutes walk from the property which was very welcoming. A big thank you to Tara and family who made us feel very welcome and would certainly recommend. Would stay here again in future if we head back to the area.

Lovely Wellow

Great getaway in a very lovely village of Wellow- pretty and peaceful. Good location to visit Bath and surrounding Somerset area. Easy communication with the owners, spacious for 2 people, and well equipped with easy to use appliances.

A perfect little flat for a stay in Bath

My husband and my two year old daughter stayed here in August and it’s lovely, clean and quiet. Very picturesque and handy that its all on one floor. The owner were very helpful and responsive to our messages. It’s in a good location to get to Bath and Bristol.

Family meet up after lockdown

The apartment is spacious- more like a single level cottage. My elderly mum and I were meeting up with my sister and grownup niece after months of separation and the apartment was comfortable cosy with outstanding views of rolling Wiltshire countryside. The village of Wellow looks beautiful and the people friendly, I just wish the weather had been better and we could have stayed longer. Accessibility to Bath and Bristol is good too. Tara ensured there was soaps and kitchen stuff like condiments tea coffee washing up liquid etc so you don’t have to drag it with you. They have also renovated and modernised the property tastefully and it is kept clean with lovely towels and linens.

Fantastic apartment

Great stay Apartment very clean with a high specification. Very close to bath , village setting is perfect for a relaxed get away but with the city vibe of bath on your doorstep. Tara ‘s recommendations for walks and places to eat was spot on. Many thanks to Tara and Stuart from 2 NHS workers that just wanted to switch of with our boys and chill out just perfect.

Mellow in Wellow

Our family had a lovely short break at The Steam Mill! We enjoyed the ambience of the place, along with its history and wonderful views. We loved the local walks and also had a very good dinner in The Fox & Badger. Thank you to owners Stuart & Tara for making us feel so welcome!

Perfect base for visiting Bath and surrounding area!

The Steam Corn Mill is an ideal base to visit Bath and the surrounding area. The cottage is very well renovated and equipped. It suited us down to the ground....dog friendly, great location in the very pretty village of Wellow with a great pub..The perfect place. Tara and the family are lovely hosts, really helpful but not intrusive. We enjoyed the user friendly layout, the comfy sofas and beds, wood.floor and minimalist style, but super cosy too! Also, great walks Just outside the side gate to the river, longbarrown etc.....However our favourite touch was a coffee grinder and the hosts favourite coffee beans! Freshly ground coffee each morning was a real treat. Also, a note about the local pub, The Fox and Badger. The owner Charles and his team went out of their way to make us feel welcome and catered especially for our vegan party member with delicious dishes on our two visits. We can’t recommend The Steam Corn Mill, the village and the pub highly enough! We will be back.....

I was brought up in this property, and have recently purchased it from my parents. I live at The Steam Mill with my husband Stuart and 3 teenage children James, Will and Ellie. We have a small, friendly Spaniel. We love how we are situated in the countryside, but not far from a vibrant city.

We have recently renovated The Steam Mill. This renovation has given us the opportunity to create a purpose built ground floor flat. Everything in the flat is brand new. The flat is situated in popular rural location. We have rolling hills surrounding us, which are great for walks. The Fox & Badger pub is a minutes walk away and serves great food and drink. We are a stone's throw from historic Bath. This can be reached either by car (6 miles) or via the famous 2 Tunnels cycleway following the Somerset & Dorset joint railway. This cycle way is off road and predominately flat. It is great for family cycling; Midford is 2 miles away and has a pub called the Hope and Anchor.

Underfloor heating keeps the property lovely a warm, but if you want a little extra snugness we have a log burning stove. We provide wood, firelighters, matches and newspaper to help you get it started. If you are bringing bikes we can store them securely in our bike store for you. For train enthusiasts, this property was built on the Somerset & Dorset joint railway: there are still many visible features remaining from this period, including a well maintained signal box opposite the property.
