Alice cottage – lovely Breton house – log fire, shared pool, private garden

Alice is in a small hamlet in the heart of Brittany – a characterful separate stone-built house, with many traditional features, including a feature fireplace and log burner, beamed ceilings and exposed stonework - 3 star meuble de tourisme

Alice is one of three charming traditional stone-built cottages set on 2.5 acres of land. The gite has its own private garden for relaxing and dining, but you can also enjoy the fabulous landscaped grounds including a shared heated outdoor swimming pool, boule court and games room.
The cottage is spacious with a good sized kitchen and a fabulous open plan living/dining room and three pretty bedrooms. A perfect place to recharge your batteries in this beautiful part of Brittany.

On the ground floor Alice has a fabulous beamed living/dining room, with a large feature fireplace and log burner for cosy evenings in. With a TV, DVD player and dvd's, plus a good selection of games and puzzles and books, there’s plenty to help you relax in the gite. We also have a chromecast for you to stream from your streaming service.

The charming country style kitchen is well equipped and has all you will need, including gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, filter coffee maker, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster and kettle together with all the crockery and utensils you will need. There is also a downstairs toilet and sink.

Upstairs there are two pretty double bedrooms, and a further bunk bedded room, with traditional beams and feature natural stone walls.

Also upstairs is the family bathroom with bath (with shower over bath) and toilet.

The patio doors lead onto the large terrace area and secluded private garden. A charcoal barbeque is supplied along with outside table and chairs to enjoy alfresco meals and generally relaxing. There is also seating to the front of Alice to make the most of the last rays of sun before it dips over the trees.

In addition, you can also enjoy the shared heated pool, peaceful landscaped gardens, games room, boule court and badminton/football area.
The pool is open April to September, and is heated from May, weather permitting.
All bed linen and towels (not pool towels) are included in the price, as is power and wood for the log burner if you need it. Wifi is available in the cottage. Cots and highchairs are available on request.


The cottage is set in the heart of rural Brittany – a perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside, but only a 5 minute drive from the historic town of Guémené, with its bars, boulangeries, restaurants and shops and less than 30 minutes from mediaeval Pontivy. The local countryside is perfect for walks and bike rides, with forests, lakes, canals and rivers to explore, together with lovely villages, towns, castles and many historic sites. The Lac du Guerledan (Brittany's largest lake) is a perfect place to explore, both on and around the lake with beaches, swimming, canoeing, fishing etc to enjoy. The south Brittany coast is less than an hour away, with numerous stunning beaches and coastline, plus the islands off Morbihan to discover.

Alice is one of three cottages (Elsa and Adele) sharing the pool, games room and communal grounds, which can be rented separately or with friends and families wishing to spend their holidays together, but with each enjoying their own separate house and private garden.
