Wonderful Gloucester Road/Hyde Park 2bed/1.5bath Mews House

Wonderful 2 bed, 1.5bathroom in private quiet mews just off Gloucester Road (tube stop 5min walk). Beautiful flat on first floor of a private mews, when you go up the stairs you enter and on your right are the bedrooms and bathrooms, one large master with a king bed and ensuite with bath with a stand up shower unit and next door is a smaller room with two singles. The sitting room has a large sofa and two comfy chairs and good SMART TV with Netflix and also Apple TV. There is a large wooden dining room table which seats 6. Kitchen is a nice size and has all the pots/pans to make yourself breakfast/lunch/dinner and also a Nespresso coffee machine and dishwasher/microwave.

This Charming Mews House Was Exactly What We Were Hoping For

This stylish, cozy mews house provided our family with everything we needed for our stay. It was conveniently located by 2 Underground stations. Museums, entertainment, parks, dining and shopping are all within walking distance. You cannot beat the location or the charm. Check-in and check-out was easy and efficient. The property manager was so helpful and really went above and beyond to insure our stay in London was a memorable one. We highly recommend this property.

Best flat in great location

This is a charming flat in a great location of London. Every morning we got up and walked 5 minutes to get to Hyde Park for a morning stroll. All kinds of lovely restaurants close by and the tube was also minutes away The flat was clean, with crisp clean bed linens and fluffy white towels. Kitchen provided everything we needed although we didn’t cook much because of the many food establishments close by. Annabelle was quick to respond to any queries. Overall a great stay.

Fabulous Apartment in Fantastic Location

The apartment was accurately described and there were no real surprises. We absolutely loved the location. Just a short walk (5 blocks or so) to the Gloucester Tube station with several restaurants/shops/pubs on the block and many more within within walking distance. We loved running from the apartment to Kensington Park every morning. The apartment itself is up a steep flight of stairs (as mentioned in other reviews) so it is not a good fit for anyone who would have difficulty climbing the stairs. Once inside it is very comfortable. Two smaller bedrooms but plenty of room for a family of 4. The primary bedroom has the main bathroom attached. The tub has a very high lip that again would not be suitable for anyone who would have difficulty stepping up and over into the tub/shower. There is another shower in the basement but you would need to climb down a steep flight of stairs to access it. There is a third half bath on the main floor which was very nice to have. The two twin beds in the second bedroom were perfect for our two sons. The kitchen was well equipped and the common living space was very comfortable. The laundry machine was in the basement, down the steep flight of stairs. It was a washer/dryer combo and we were never able to figure out how to dry our clothes. I'm sure there was something simple that we missed. Most of the living space is on one floor. The steep stairs into the lower level leads to the washer/dryer and another bathroom that we never used. The rest of the basement is empty. Overall the apartment was perfect for our needs, in a wonderful location in South Kensington and close to shops/restaurants and anything else you would need.

Excellent place to stay for you London vacation!

We absolutely loved this flat for our 6-day stay in London. We have two teens, who appreciated not having to share a bed. It was tastefully decorated and very cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The location was great, in easy walking distance to Kensington Palace and Gardens, the Gloucester Road tube stop, and coffee shops and restaurants.

Wonderful stay in London!

There was only one review from a stay back in January this year when we booked. It was very detailed and turns out, spot on…no need to repeat observations here. Please be sure and read. I would like to emphasize a comment made about steps to flat…they are very steep and narrow. Just be aware that navigating with heavy bags can be difficult. Along the same vein, the tub/shower off the master requires definite agility for entry/exit so care must be given. Overall, this quaint property was as advertised, well equipped and no surprises. Having two bedrooms is such a plus which allowed for our daughter who lives in London to stay over with us. Our host, Annabelle, was a pleasure to work with and gave us helpful information about the area. The location is awesome, close to sights, restaurants, tube and a short walk to Whole Foods! We felt very safe as there is a super checking on anyone coming on premises. Would highly recommend!

Outstanding flat in an attractive, secure courtyard

Our family truly enjoyed staying at this well located, well appointed flat, close to nice restaurants and close to the Gloucester Road and Kensington High Street tube stations. Kensington Park is 5 or 10 minutes walk for a pretty bit of exercise. The main bedroom has a King bed comfortable for two with two built in wardrobes, and the second bedroom has two twins, with two small wardrobes. This second bedroom is a bit small, without a lot of extra space aside from the two beds. There is a full bathroom with tub/shower en suite to the main bedroom, and a half bath, or WC, adjacent to the second bedroom. The living room is nicely and comfortably furnished, with fast Wi-Fi and a good sized smart TV. The dining area table can easily accommodate 6. The kitchen is complete, with dishwasher and full size refrigerator and freezer. The living accommodations are accessed by going up a flight of steps at either end of the mews. The stair treads are a bit narrow, which was not a problem for any of our group, but not the best for someone who has trouble with stairs. From the living accommodations there is an interior stairway to a lower level that has another bath with shower, and a washer/dryer combination, an ironing board and iron, and a drying rack. We never used the extra shower facilities, but they are there if needed. This is a nicely and tastefully refurbished older property that may be the coolest flat we’ve stayed in in London, and we’ve stayed in quite a few. As a bonus, Annabelle, the manager was a treat to work with at every step. Other bonuses are the lockbox for self checkin and the “users manual” for the house and its appliances that Annabelle emailed to us prior to our arrival. Bottom line is, if this is the area you want for a group of 2 to 4 people who can easily navigate stairs, I’m sure you will be very happy working with Annabelle and staying in this flat.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This is a truly stunning property, it is located down a quiet mews road just behind the very convenient Gloucester Road which leads up to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace and also is about a 5min walk to Gloucester Road tube stop (Circle and District Lines). Also it is about a 10min walk to the Natural History Museum, Albert Hall and the V&A. The owner has done it up very nicely and has owned it for years, they now use it occasionally and so do their family but otherwise it is available for guests, they have great pride in it and very high standards. Sorry no children under the age of 8.
